Hello my fellow tea drinkers, I come with another of cup tea that offers a different experience than the normal oolong Tea experience. This tea features the completely natural flavor of watermelon. Which is indeed a feat for being that I am a lover of watermelons and melons, in general. I have had many teas and treats that feature a grossly overpowered artificial watermelon flavor. But I believe that this tea actually has captured the true essence of that summertime fruit.
The really interesting thing about this blend’s composition is that it features no watermelon at all. Now the reason is that watermelon is, of course, very hard to dry out. This blend’s ingredients are as follows; oolong, green tea, blueberries, coconut, mango, papaya, pineapples, lemongrass, osmanthus, and cornflowers. With all these flavors combined it is hard to believe that it tastes just like a cup of watermelon! With the first sip, you get that kick of sweet, refreshing watermelon and then the blend of oolong and green tea mellow it out while still carrying that flavor all the way through. I will also say that I was very skeptical of this blend for I have never been a fan of mango and papaya but I am happy to be surprised that my tastebuds can be fooled!
For the prices on this blend, for 12 sachets it is $8.98, for a 4-ounce loose leaf tin it is $11.95, 8 ounces $21.95, 12 ounces $28.95, and for 16 ounces it is $34.95. Now it does look there is a way on their site to get specific samples and I believe that you add the item designated as “samples” to your cart and in the “notes” section of the checkout then you list your desired teas. They also have specific tea blend samplers that features a handful of black teas to their rooibos tea blends.
To conclude, this tea great to drink cold or hot at any time of the year! It provides that watermelon flavor without being artificial. So if you are curious and want to try something a bit different I will give this blend a try, I certainly don’t regret it!
See you for the next cuppa!

Watermelon Oolong from Gypsy Soul Tea Co. . . .
I’m not really a watermelon fan, you guys.
I know. Have I even earned the right to review this tea?! Stick with me, and I’ll clarify– I like the FLAVOR of watermelon. Fresh, juicy, summery– it’s delightful. But something about the texture of watermelon gets me– it’s kinda mealy, super watery (duh), and while I love its natural flavor, it’s often super light and diluted, and I just wish it wasn’t quite so… subdued.
This tea from Gypsy Soul takes all the things I dislike about watermelon, eradicates them in one fell swoop, highlights my fave (that tangy, fruity flavor!) and KNOCKS IT OUTTA THE PARK. For serious. I cold brewed this one overnight to be put on ice (because it’s just begging to be sipped cold), and I think I could’ve drank about a gallon rather than my measly 16 ounces– that’s how good it was. The flavor is spot-on, fresh and juicy, fruity melon– maybe a touch of candy-esque tang, but nothing near as artificial. Not a hint of mealy-ness in sight. I’m a happy camper.
No more feeling a little left out at summer BBQs– I’ll have this blend on ice with me instead!

Watermelon MajesTea from Cup of Love. . . . .
Watermelon…it’s one of those fruits that many people seem to LOVE or HATE…rarely a ‘Happy Medium’ with Watermelons…it seems! Lucky for me I LOVE Watermelon! So when I saw that the sister company of Vampyre Tea was attempting to perfect their dried watermelon for Watermelon MajesTea from Cup of Love I was VERY excited to try it!
Watermelon MajesTea from Cup of Love contains Oolong Tea, Dried Watermelon, Chunks of White Nectarine, Papaya Pieces, Plum Petals, & Safflower Petals. I’m fairly certain that they dry (dehydrate) the watermelon themselves because I saw their posts on Facebook! I will say that the dried watermelon was a bit sticky to touch but it proved how fresh and REAL it was and that made me even more intrigued!
I really have to pause a moment and tell you about the AMAZING aroma of this tea! The watermelon scents were VERY strong. The smell busted thru the packaging. IMPRESSIVE! This was an intensely flavored oolong.
Flavor-wise the watermelon was the rock star but the chunks of other fruit were a nice addition and seem to round out the fruity flavor nicely. The petals were more for show but still appreciated. No matter which way I slice it I keep going back to the aroma and flavor the watermelon gives off in this. If you are a fan of watermelon like I am I’m pretty sure you will get a KICK out of this flavored oolong. Watermelon MajesTea from Cup of Love is more than ‘just’ a tea…it’s an experience!

Sweet Watermelon Oolong from TeaLeafs #VeganMoFo2016
I have an insane love for Watermelon so when the prompt for Vegan MoFo was for favorite food, I knew exactly which tea would fit!
I recently polished off my stash of Sweet Watermelon Oolong from TeaLeafs and eventho it’s not currently for sale on their website I thought it was still worth a mention and a review as it is absolutely YUMMY! (As of 11/7- this tea is back online)
Like I stated above…I am now finished with my stash of this flavored Oolong. Is it wrong and weird of me to keep the bag for smelling purposes? Yes, it really IS that wonderfully flavored. It you are a fan of Watermelon Jolly Ranchers you will have to check this one out as soon as it’s available again at TeaLeafs.
Sweet Watermelon Oolong is great HOT and stand alone. But it’s also amazing COLD by itself and/or with your sweetener of your choice. I rarely suggest adding sweeteners to teas but my husband drinks teas with sweeteners when he does drink them and he enjoys this one as well. He’s used Natural Dark Rock Sugar chunks but we have also tried it with Agave and that works nicely, too!
But don’t feel like you HAVE to add anything because this is a gem by itself. I’m assuming my with-drawls will begin shortly. I NEED to get my hands on more of this flavored oolong!
