Where To Buy: Golden Moon Tea
Product Description:
One of the best teas we have tasted. It is so rare that it is actually its own varietal without any flavorings or scenting. The honey flavor literally explodes on your front palate with a subtle finish of fresh orchids.
Tasters Review:
Marcus over at Golden Moon Tea contacted us recently to try their new and improved Honey Orchid and I will say they NAILED IT! LiberTEAs previously reviewed this and it’s one of the very few 100’s I’ve seen her rate on her steepster log! I agree with her saying this is pretty awesome – that’s for sure!
The aroma of the dry leaves smell like a honey-buttered whole wheat bagel I often have from my local coffee shop here.
The color of the liquor after infusing is quite light for a black! It’s surprising! BUT…it’s NOT light on flavor!
I guess the honey comparison comes into play because it IS smooth like honey and it has that natural sweetness of REAL honey…not that fake stuff! I really like the smoothness of this.
There is a chewiness to this tea as well…I REALLY like that little characteristic!
I would say the Orchid/floral connection would be just as you move the sip from the front of your mouth to the back of your mouth right before it ‘goes down the trap’…so to speak! The floral notes are subtle and refreshing in a way I have never tasted before!
As this cools it seems to become juicer – I think this is an interesting touch – as well!
This tea is more complex than I was expecting and I LOVE that!
Another thing I noticed with this tea is that the leaves are screaming for a 2nd infusion…here is what I found with the 2nd infusion…
This time around it’s still sweet and silky-smooth but more woodsy but in a good way. It’s smells chewier but tastes a little less chewier.
YUMMO!
My favorite Golden Moon Tea thus far! WOW!

Origin: Formosa (Taiwan)
Ingredients: Formosa Oolong, Mango, Aronia Berries, Rose Petals
Steeping Guidelines:
Water: 176°- 194°F | Use 1 Tsp per 6 ounce cup | Infusion Time: 2 – 3 minutesInfusion tips:
Use COLD filtered or spring water, whenever possible
Don’t over boil water, Don’t over steep tea
Remove leaves after recommended time (adjust to taste)
*Vary time according to taste, & remember that steeping tea leaves beyond 3 minutes does not contribute to flavor, only bitterness.
If you want a stronger taste, use more tea leaves instead of steeping for a longer time
Tasters Review:
DRY – Oolong Royal Tea from Praise Tea looks like a woodsier Oolong mix. The aroma is mostly oolong and mango. I can tell there is a little something else fruity-wise too but it’s not really identifiable as berries or passionfruit.
Once infused the liquor is pretty dark for an oolong- much like a medium-brown colored black tea. It smells slightly fruity and woodsy.
The taste is DARN GOOD. It’s a smoother oolong taste with hints of sweeter-wood but the fruit notes pair up beside the oolong very well. All of the fruit ingredients mesh well with each other and no one ingredient really barges in front of the others.
The rose hides out in the background and if I didn’t take the time to really notice it I probably would miss it.
Plum Proud Tea from White August Tea Company
Where To Buy: White August Tea Company
Product Description:
Black tea delightfully married with French plums, cranberries, and raspberries then kissed with just a touch of strawberry essence. The refreshing tea was made to be iced. A lightly fruity way to quench your thirst.
Tasters Review:
I’ll admit it…I’m Plum Happy! For those of you have read many of my past reviews – you may recall my love for plum started when I was a toddler thanks to my Grandmother as did my love of Tea! She was a remarkable woman!
This tea makes me happy and would make any Tea Company Proud!!!
Here’s why…
It’s a good flavored black tea and the Plum is the first flavor that grabs your attention…but the cranberry isn’t too far behind…nor are the Raspberries…and HECK…you can even taste the strawberry essence! This is VERY tasty and the flavors all play nice with each other!
AND this is the perfect amount of fruit in a black tea! It tastes true and it’s terrific! I LOVE that no hibiscus was used in this! It proves a great fruit flavored tea can be done without it!
This is almost wine-like…both in aroma and in taste. I sampled the first half of this cup hot and LOVED it and drank the 2nd half of the cup cold and LOVE it just as much. The more I sip the more in love I fall!

First…I would like to say HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY from SororiTEA Sisters!
“Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.”
Well, I can honestly say they aren’t THIS GIRLS BFF! I would much rather have tea! That’s why I thought this was a perfect tea to review today!
I really LOVE White August Tea Company’s Creative Tea Names and Descriptions! Most of which are trademarked, I might add!
This one lives up to it’s name! I really enjoyed it…A LOT!
A Girls’ Best Friend Tea from White August Tea Company smells wonderful! It’s filled with various plump berries and black tea! The black tea is pretty strong in flavor and I like that! The flavor of the berries is lovely too! It’s slightly tart but more importantly juicy! AND…ya know what!? The Hibiscus is subtle and more than tolerable! This surprisingly has a velvety yet floral finish. YUM.
Companies who over-do hibiscus in their blends need to take some notes from White August Tea Company! They do it right! Just enough to tie in and play nice with the other flavors! This is really something special…a good tea to give as a gift or to sip with friends! A pure delight!

Tasters Review:
Did you know that LEMONGRASS can help dogs bark less? I guess I never knew that!
Another thing I must point out is that my other Lemongrass herbal teas don’t really look like this. This one looks like a pale-tannish-yellow color and has lemongrass but also what looks like root and powder in the mix!
It really didn’t have an aroma prior to infusing but afterwards…it was pleasant but not over the top! It infuses to a VERY clear and clean pale almost completely clear color liquid-wise. It’s a very gentle lemongrass and a gentle herb type taste.
This isn’t too bad! I think it would make a nice base for blending! It does leave a refreshing aftertaste, too! I give this one a thumbs-up from Supple Skin Boutique!
