Among the many fandom blends Adagio has to offer, there are a few Adagio collections waiting to be found. One such collection is the Tree House Collection made up of Tea Rex, Monster Brew, and this tea, Rocket Fuel. All the teas come is silk tea satchets stored in colorful tins and all are caffeine free as the lot are meant to be child friendly in look, contents, and taste.
Rocket Fuel is blended with green rooibos tea, apple pieces, raspberry leaves, orange peels, blueberries, natural orange flavor, natural blueberry flavor, marigold flowers & blue cornflowers. I had enough to make this both hot and iced, each steeped for 3 minutes in 200F water.
I tried to start with the hot cup but tbh it was a bit too hot and I didn’t taste very much so this note, I will be starting with the iced tea to give the other time to cool. The main flavor of the iced tea is definitely apple. Apple and the rooibos base which is the very slightest bit woody. I even get the slightest touch of orange peel but not much. More than anything, this is an apple tea.
Hot, the rooibos base is much stronger. In fact, here it is the most prominent flavor, followed by orange peel. The apple comes in at the tailend of the sip to add some sweetness but is not nearly as strong as in the iced tea.
have had this previously, both hot and iced, and remember really enjoying it. The iced tea I remember having a great citrus flavor while the hot was full of berry flavor. However, that was over three years ago and it would see my tastes have changes as these two cups were disappointing and not at all what I remember.

Vanilla Cupcake from the True Tea Club
It’s hard to resist a tea named Vanilla Cupcake, especially on a day when you just need something cute and sweet to brighten your day. This tea smells surprisingly fruity alongside the vanilla cake flavors, reminding me of fruitcake or banana bread. In a world of frosting-flavored, cake-themed tea blends, the amount of fruit flavors and fruity ingredients makes this blend stand apart.
The orange and papaya coupled with the vanilla, make this feel more like an orange-glazed sponge cake. Yum! The banana chips add their own full-flavored sweetness, but there is distinctly less of the traditional “frosting” taste, so if you want the extra creaminess, you should add a splash of milk to give the blend that dessert-like twist.
Because this is a decaf rooibos blend, it would be a perfect choice to brew up for a girl’s tea party. Who wouldn’t want a sip of a tea called vanilla cupcake? You could even serve it with real cupcakes and make a day of it!
In addition to all the fruit pieces in the tea, the leaves have at least two types of flower petals which makes the blend especially pretty to the eye. The bright and varied colors seem especially festive if you imagine this tea blend not just as a vanilla cupcake, but maybe as a “birthday cake” cupcake. This is a great blend for any day that needs a celebration.

The Jam & Tea Collection from CXBO & Kitten and the Bear & Sloane Fine Tea Merchants. . .
So I might have a small collection of Kitten and the Bear jams because they are awesome. And I obviously have a not-so-small collection of tea. So when I found out that three amazing Toronto businesses teamed up to make beautiful chocolate truffles filled with jam and tea infused ganache, I was all over it. After all, what is better than tea and jam? Tea, jam, and truffles, of course. So from the minds of Chocolates x Brandon Olsen, Kitten and the Bear, and Sloane Fine Tea Merchants, I introduce you to The Jam & Tea Collection.
Black Plum, Darjeeling Tea: I decided to start with this truffle as it seemed to be the simplest of the bunch. At first taste, I got a bright plum flavor from the jam but the ganache simply tasted like a rich chocolate. The aftertaste had a lingering bit of spice that is reminiscent of darjeeling
Lemon, Lavender, Citron Calm Tea: This truffle has a great citrus pop from both the tea and the lemon of the jam, though it is balanced by the chamomile-like apple in the ganache. The lavender was very subtle, which for me is a plus but some might find it lacking.
Orange Marmalade, Ginger Twist Tea: Dark chocolate and chunky orange marmalade combine with the ginger in a chocolate ganache. I am not a chocolate orange kinda girl and this reminds me of a Terry’s Chocolate Orange, but the ginger, gently flavoring the ganache, adds a nice depth to the whole experience.
Strawberry, Raspberry, Heavenly Cream Tea: This is one of the truffles I was most excited about because it is one of the truffles where I have tried and enjoyed both the jam and tea being used, surprising given I am not a fan of Earl Greys. This truffle DEFINITELY delivered. It is amazing. Both the jam and tea are sweet and creamy and that is exactly how one would describe this truffle. The earl grey flavor is most prominent and smooth but it is complimented beautifully by a rich vanilla and the sweet strawberry, raspberry, cream jam. This is crazy sweet and screams dessert.
Classic Strawberry, Marrakesh Mint Tea: Strawberry and mint, a wonderful combination and done perfectly in this truffle. For my personal tastes, I would prefer if this were not a dark chocolate since the mint is already very strong and the dark flavors together make this more of an after-eight treat than a bright strawberry and mint yum. Nevertheless, the richness of the other two components make the sweetness of the jam really stand out.
Palace Chai Caramel: Well this was a surprise. Rather than a layer of ganache and a layer of jam like the other truffles, this is just filled with a thick and creamy salted caramel. But not just any salted caramel, a chai caramel with a great dash of cinnamon warmth.
Blackberry, Plum, Violet, Cassis Vanilla Tea: This is a floral truffle. Juicy berry flavors with a bit of crunch from the seeds in the jam. There is not as much vanilla as I would have hoped but the other flavors are present and delightful.
Banana, Jasmine Pink Lemonade Tea: Hello banana jam! How I love thee. That coupled with a sweet and floral jasmine pink lemonade infused ganache. The jasmine obviously is what contributes the floral note but the ganache also has a pink grapefruit flavor that really rounds things out nicely. A little sweet. A little floral. A little tart. All enrobed in dark chocolate.
Pear, Maple, Lapsang Souchong Tea: I saved this for last. Why? The lapsang. I thought the smoke might leave quite the aftertaste and I didn’t want it to affect the other truffles. This is another truffle I was excited to try because unlike Strawberry, Raspberry, Heavenly Cream, this truffle uses a jam I really wanted to try but sold out before I got to it so luckily this was my chance. This truffle is like a sweet campfire. Smoke takes over while the maple coats the tongue. Pear pieces add texture and a bit of flavor but its the maple and lapsang that take over. If you’re not one for smoke this will not be for you but if you’re open to it, it is a great flavor duo done beautifully.
These truffles make for a great treat and I mean really what else would you expect when three renowned Toronto businesses work together.

Jumpin’ Jelly Beans from The NecessiTeas. . . . .
Picture this: it’s Easter. You’re eight years old. You see a big ol’ bowl of jellybeans sitting on the kitchen table, waiting for family members to arrive to celebrate and nosh on.
Now picture this: you’re uncomfortable in your Easter dress. You’ve been at church all day. Your kitchen smells delightful, but you have to wait until everyone comes before you can eat anything. You just want A FEW JELLYBEANS, dangit. So you fish out as many of the green beans as you can find, toss them in your Easter hat and sneak away to have a little pre-dinner aperitif.
And then everyone comes for dinner and no one even questions the lack of green jellybeans in the bowl. If there aren’t any at all, did they ever exist in the bowl in the first place? Mwahaha.
You guys– this tea is a perfect recreation of those sugar-filled springtime holiday memories of yore. I iced my sample of this one, because hello– and that was the right decision. It’s a sweet, fresh, fruity candy-Cherry flavor, and makes for a delightful chilled treat anytime of the day, given its lack of caffeine. I could see this one being a great tea for little ones to sip on, as well. This one reads more like a treat tea than an everyday tea for me, but it was especially delightful and spot-on to the flavors noted. And would probably be a great sipping companion to an Easter-hat filled with green jellybeans. Not like I would know.

It is Macaroon Season: Try Coconut Almond Macaroon from the NecessiTeas
I feel like I’ve see a lot of macaroon-themed teas popping up this spring so it felt like time to try a tea I was saving in my collection, Coconut Almond Macaroon from the NecessiTeas.
It’s a little known fact that I like coconut in my baked goods and sweets. Almond Joy bars or Coconut Cluster Girl Scout cookies are the way to go! And don’t even get me started on Hostess Sno-Balls…
The dry leaf of this blend smelled strongly of almond, almost like amaretto liqueur or almond extract. Almond was definitely the dominant tone, but there was some coconut cream hiding beneath the marzipan fragrance. This tea has a green tea base, so I kept the water temperatures a little lower and let it steep. I could hardly keep my nose out of the mug while I waited. The brew smelled so delicious, sweet and nutty, with much more coconut coming forward as time went on.
This tea is true to its name: coconut macaroon. There’s the smooth, almond-cookie, sweet chocolate, and plenty of buttery coconut. Using green tea beneath all these flavors was a great choice by The Necessiteas. The coconut is toasted and warm, and almost makes the green tea taste like a roasted hojicha. The green tea also makes this blend light enough that the coconut and chocolate don’t need to compete for prominence, and it allows the cookie flavors to really shine. After a long day, this was the perfect dessert tea to brew up as a treat!
