Tasters Review:
‘Tis the Harvest Season! I thought I would celebrate with this time of year with this tisane from Tea Forte.
Harvest Apple Spice from Tea Forte smells like Cider and Cologne.
It steeps up rather dark!…not a VERY Dark Brown but Medium to medium-dark brown.
The spice is just enough and nice. The apple is juicy, plump, and not overly tart. The hibiscus is barely there and I am totally fine with that.
This is also part of Tea Forte’s WARMING JOY Gift Box. I love the presentation of their gift boxes! They are beautiful!
Overall I was pleasantly surprised by this one!
Lychee Coconut White Tea from Tea Forté
Leaf Type: White
Where to Buy: Tea Forté
Product Description:
Rare white tea with the exotic tropical notes of sweet lychee and the intoxicating fragrance of fresh cut almond.
Taster’s Review:
I’ve had quite a few different lychee flavored teas, but I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a lychee and coconut flavored tea until now. And that’s a shame, because these two tropical fruits go so well together!
The base of this tea is a delicate white tea. It is light and crisp, with a fair amount of astringency, which I think seems a little more distinctive because of the lychee flavor. The finish is dry with a sweet, musky aftertaste.
I think that the lychee and coconut are pretty evenly matched in this cup. The result is a sweet, creamy, tropical-tasting cup that is deliciously different from other tropical flavored teas.
This particular blend is part of the new Skin Smart collection from Tea Forté, a line that has been crafted to work with the body to keep the skin healthy and youthful. Personally, I don’t think I’ve ever purchased a tea for it’s purported health benefits, I drink tea because I love the taste of it. But, if it’s good for me and helps my skin in the process… I consider that a bonus!
Earl Grey from Tea Forté
Leaf Type: Black
Where to Buy: Tea Forté
Product Description:
A symphony of robust Assam leaves with a light liquoring of cold-pressed, Italian Bergamot citrus. Our blend of this classic tea has been carefully crafted to define how an Earl Grey should taste. Deeply aromatic with a bold flavor.
Taster’s Review:
I’ve tried this tea before, and I liked it. I even reviewed it before. I don’t know that there’s much more I can say about this tea that I’ve not said before … but since I do have this tea sitting before me now, I thought I’d mention some of the key aspects of this Earl Grey.
Today, I am drinking the Earl Grey in the new Eco-Teabag from Tea Forté. These basically look like “regular” teabags, or what most of us have come to think of when considering teabags. This conventional, folded style teabag is made from unbleached filter paper, and rather than having the teabag tag string attached to the bag with a staple, it has been knotted.
Also something I want to point out about these new Eco-Teabags is that they are sealed in a pouch, rather than the origami-style folded paper that houses the elegant pyramid sachets for which Tea Forté is probably best known. What’s significant about that is this: the sealed pouches are airtight, which keep the tea fresher longer. While the beautiful folded paper is very attractive to the eye, it doesn’t seal in the freshness quite as well as these pouches. So while these Eco-Teabags may not be as appealing to the eye, they are definitely more appealing to my tastebuds!
This is a fantastic Earl Grey. I love that the tea base is an Assam base, because it provides a very bold, solid base for the bergamot flavor. It is malty and strong: strong enough to hold its own in the presence of the powerful bergamot.
The bergamot is delicious and citrus-y. It has just the right amount of tangy flavor. I also like that this tea is organic. Overall, the cup is just what I expected it to be, and maybe even a little more. I’ve enjoyed my time with this tea very much.
Apricot Amaretto from Tea Forté
Tea Information:
Leaf Type: Honeybush & Rooibos
Where to Buy: Tea Forté
Product Description:
A double delight of sweet apricot and juicy peach with nuanced notes of almond, artfully evoking Saronno, Italy, the birthplace of amaretto. Your purchase helps protect fragile ecosystems.
Taster’s Review:
Recently, I was asked to review the newest collection of herbal teas from Tea Forté, called Herbal Retreat. This blend is one of those herbal teas, and so far, I think it’s my favorite.
There is a really nice balance of flavors between the honeybush and rooibos. I can taste the nutty flavors that accent the almond flavor of the amaretto well without tasting the weird sweet taste of the rooibos. A sweet honey-esque tone in the background from the honeybush.
But what I taste more than anything is the apricot! It is sweet and tastes like a fresh, juicy apricot. It’s very nectar-like. There are hints of peach as well as almond, but the apricot is definitely the main event in this cup. It is smooth and sweet and delicious. And it’s naturally caffeine free, so it’s great for a late-night treat.
PRODUCT REVIEW: Ginger Pear (Regroup) Minteas from Tea Forté
Where to Buy: Tea Forté
Product Description:
Gingko with the lush flavor of juicy pear will have you revisting your purpose, bringing focus to your mind.
Ingredients: sorbitol, xylitol, natural flavors, Fair Trade Certified™ organic white tea, organic ginkgo, calcium stearate
Taster’s Review:
Hmm… I like these. I wasn’t really sure about them at first … I’ve tried tea mints, some I’ve liked, and some … not so much. But these are quite nice. Not too sweet, and I like that even though they’ve only 1 calorie, they’ve not been sweetened using aspartame – to which I’m allergic. I also like that they’re only 1 calorie because they’re quite tasty and I found myself wanting another after the first… and another after that.
The flavor is intense. The ginger is the strongest note, and the pear comes through nicely. I don’t get much gingko flavor (which I’m not crazy about anyway, so that’s a good thing), but I also don’t get a lot of white tea flavor. I can taste hints of both of these flavors, but nothing as strong or pervasive as the ginger.
It has a very zesty taste that leaves the mouth feeling clean and fresh. It doesn’t taste sweet or like I’ve been eating candy, it just feels clean. Exhilarating. The freshness remains a while after the mint has dissolved.
As for the “Regroup” or focus aspect of the mint, it is hard to report on something like that … perhaps because I didn’t feel unfocused before I popped the mint into my mouth. But, what I can say is that the flavor is zesty enough to really grab my attention. So perhaps it is doing its job and I just didn’t notice because I was enjoying the flavor.
A tasty alternative to the typical breath mint.
