Downton Abbey has inspired so many things, especially a taste for some of the old-fashioned rituals such as taking tea in the afternoon. We imagine Lady Mary would have had her own favorite; something strong, high spirited and unique in flavoring and character. We’ve named this unique blend, Lady Mary’s Reserve, as it is like no other ~ a rich black tea with almond flavoring, rose petals, cardamom and vanilla pieces. Just like the series that has captured our hearts, this blend will be enjoyed over and over again!

Taster’s Review:
Downton Abbey has inspired so many things especially a taste for some of the old-fashioned rituals such as taking tea in the afternoon and with that I introduce you to Lady Mary’s Reserve Tea from Tea For All Reasons. This flavored black tea is of medium strength when it comes to the black tea base itself. The flavors paired along side with it mesh very well and are not overdone in the slightest. Lady Mary’s Reserve Tea from Tea For All Reasons showcase almond, rose, cardamom, and vanilla flavors. First – I pick up on the rose, then the cardamom, and the almost and vanilla jump into play, too! Lady Mary’s Reserve Tea from Tea For All Reasons is unique and tasty. I also find it to be a fairly calming tea for a black tea based tea that is.

Taster’s Review:
A tea with three different kinds of sprinkles. . . I’m in! This tea is pretty adorable with the blue and star sprinkles and the gold balls just add to the cuteness. Tea for All Reasons always has a few fandom style teas. This particular one is based off of Van Gough’s painting, Starry Night. But I digress. . .now to the tea.
I added the tea to my Breville, set it up for the black tea setting (212F-3 minutes-4 tbsp-3 cups water) and away I go. The tea definitely smells like berries . I picked that up from the dry leaves as well. As I start to enjoy this tea, I’m not picking up the bright berry flavor that I was hoping for. It definitely has an astringent factor to it. The more I drink and the tea cools, it just seems to be more of a muddled flavor. Definitely drinkable but its like the blackberry flavor is trying to pop but its just not quite there.
For my second cup, I used my Breville Milk Frother and made myself a latte with regular milk. Oh the flavors popped with this addition! Can you say Blackberries and Cream! Yum!! The sprinkles that looked to be there for show before the addition of the milk are now lending themselves to a sweet and subtle addition to the latte. I think I might just have to go for one more cup! I think adding the milk is the way to go with this one.
Dowager Countess Grey Special Black from Tea For All Reasons
Tea Information:
Leaf Type: BlackTea
Where to Buy: Tea For All Reasons
Tea Description:
For all of you Downton Abbey and Earl Grey fans, this is a must! I’ve created this new blend in honor of the irrepressible Dowager Countess. You are aware of a strong presence whenever she enters a room, impeccably dressed, with rows and rows of creamy white pearls. She makes no apologies for her strong sense of tradition, and underneath her sharp, dry wit, there is a sweetness that she tries to keep well hidden. Much like the Dowager, our new Earl Grey blend is “steeped” in tradition, has a strong, tart Pomegranate presence, with an underlying sweetness, and is dressed up with creamy white pearl dragees. Enjoy!

Taster’s Review:
I’ve reviewed teas from Tea For All Reasons in the past and you may already know that I love their thoughts behind their blends. I love their names. And they are pleasing to the nose, eye, and tongue. This time around I am tasting the Dowager Countess Grey – a specialty black tea – from their Downton Abby Series Collection – which makes a cross over to their Earl Grey Collection, too!
What isn’t overly present is the stereotypical bergamot you would find in an Earl Grey. Instead – Tea For All Reasons has ‘thought outside the box’ (or the tea bag rather) and decided to pair this blend with pomegranate. I really enjoy the Pom-Flavor in this loose leaf black tea based blend of flavors. It provides a subtle tartness without it going to wild. There are hints of cream towards the end sip that are quite intriguing as well.
I infused for about 3 to 4 minutes and eventho this is a black tea base the post-infused liquid color isn’t all that dark in the cup. But that’s ok…what it lacks in color/tone – it makes up for in aroma and taste! This is a nice sipping tea when hot and a jolly-good gulping tea when cold.
If you are looking for a creative blend with a little bit of tarty-fruit notes – try this one, if you are a Downton Abby fan – put this one on your list – or if you are into flavored Earl Grey’s – give this one a whirl!
Hibiscus Cream from Tea For All Reasons
Where To Buy:
Tea For All Reasons
Product Description:
Using a classic Ceylon Black Tea base, we’ve combined the sour, sweet flavor of the Hibiscus flower with the flavor of fresh cream to create a warm, pleasant blend. Delicious served over ice as well!
Tasters Review:
If you have been a visitor to the Sororitea Sisters site before and/or have read my reviews here or on my other sites or Steepster you may know I’m not a fan of Hibiscus – but – I will try just about any tea once. This was flavored black tea from Tea For All Reasons was a pleasant surprise! I’m so glad I tried it! The hibiscus is VERY gentle and totally makes sense as a flavoring for this tea. It’s paired with the cream – it’s a real winner! Both flavors are even-steven and done to perfection without interrupting the medium-strength black Ceylon tea base. This is good hot or cold. It has a lovely combo of sour and sweet and cream and punch. All equal parts. A delight! This is very nicely done – thanks Tea For All Reasons!
