Golden West from Pacific Tea – I have to tell you – I wasn’t thinking I would like this fruity herbal offering – but I did!
Golden West contains apple bits, rosehip peels, hibiscus, pineapple bits with rice flour, pear slices, coconut chips, ginger, natural flavour, and marigold petals. I wasn’t thrilled when I saw hibiscus but I set that aside based on all of the other ingredients in this blend of flavors. I figured it would be sweet but I was hoping it wasn’t going to be TOO sweet. Lucky for me – it’s sweetness was JUST RIGHT.
This fruity herbal was inspired by a golden afternoon in the Solomon western province and offered the low-acid blend of pear, coconut and ginger, then topped with notes of pineapple, marigold and hibiscus.
For me – personally – the pear shined here! The pineapple and coconut paired together awesomely and was the second flavor I picked up on. Apple was the third. Both the ginger and the hibiscus were very subtle and I think that is why this worked the way it did!
It was sweet and creamy. A yin and yang of sorts. It was hydrating at the same time. And didn’t leave a FUNKY aftertaste. This was delightful both hot and cold. This makes a wonderful Fruit Infusion.
Here’s the scoop!

Taster’s Review:
Tonight was just one of those nights were I was craving an herbal tea. I looked thru my tea stash and stumbled upon this beauty. I have been wanting to try tea from the Tea Dude in a long time and it was finally time!
This particular tea is an herbal with a lemon flair. First whiff of the dry leaves you definitely get that familiar herbal aroma but with a fresh kiss of a citrus touch. Gentle yet there. I couldn’t wait to steep this up. Scooped out a few scoops into my tea pot and boiled water. About 8 minutes later, I was ready to try my first sip.
The description nails this one. This tea does have a candy sweetness that reminds you of PEZ. I love candy so this was perfect for me. Sweet with a lemon twist in every sip. There isn’t an earthy or grassy like flavor that you can get from herbals. This is just straight delicious lemon flavored herbal tea. This tea is a perfect tea to just sit down with a good book and snuggle in. Or with a good show and binge all 5 seasons in one day. I can see myself getting lost with a cuppa of this in a horror movie. I can also see this being an incredibly soothing tea to enjoy after a long stressful day or even if you have sinus issues like I do. Calming, relaxing, soothing and great tasting. . .I’m so impressed with this delight!
To me this is the perfect herbal tea. Sweet yet not overly so with a hint of that honeybush flavor I do so enjoy. Lemon Candy Pez. . . I’m in!

Taster’s Review:
To say I am a fan of this company would be an understatement. I adore this company! So far I have had a couple of their herbal teas and all have delivered a flavor that was spot on. With herbals they can be hit or miss, but everything from Urbal Tea has been delicious and ones I would highly recommend.
This particular tea was sent to me in a tea bag. I boiled up my water and allowed this tea to steep directly in my mug. While it was steeping, I kept thinking I was smelling bubblegum. Yes, this tea has a bubblegum/candy fragrance. How fun is that!
Brewed this tea up for about 10 minutes and instantly fell in love with the gorgeous pinkish red color I was left with. Took my first sip and oh mama. . . This is some good strawberry lovin’!
The itself is sweet yet the hints of tartness that are there gently give a slight contrast. Remember back in the day when Snapple was everywhere and they had a strawberry kiwi flavored one? This reminds me of that flavor but this flavor is kicked up several notches and tastes amazingly fresh where Snapple always tasted watered down and not so great. The strawberry kiwi flavor is what you are greeted with front and center. I pick up subtle notes of the other ingredients but they are much less pronounced than the strawberry. As delicious as this was hot, I wanted to try this iced.
When this tea is treated like an iced tea, you are greeted with this adorable candy like flavor that I wasn’t getting when brewed hot. Strawberry candy flavor.
For an herbal tea, it just doesn’t get much better. I can see this tea being fantastic as a tea to serve at a girl’s tea party or just to enjoy yourself! I’m hooked!

Taster’s Review:
First off, I am not a fan of lavender in teas. I feel that the lavender adds a bite to the tea and creates a overwhelming fragrance to the tea. When I received this tea and noticed that there was lavender in it, I was a bit worried. Lately I have been really trying to get myself to not drink the teas that I know I will like. Like how you encourage a child to try different foods, I’m taking that same plane of thought in my tea drinking. I have been trying some pretty unusual teas and having a fantastic time. I have discovered that I enjoy rose petals in tea. After having this tea, I am ok with lavender now being in tea.
This tea is presented in a marvelous tin. The label on this package is awesome. I love the way The Random Tea Room packages their teas.
I added two scoops of tea into my Breville One Touch and hit the herbal button (212F-5 min). Once the tea was ready, I poured the liquid into two mugs, admiring the coloring of the tea. There was an almost purple color to it.
Jason and I took our first sips and we both looked at each other and smiled. First sip and I’ve fallen in love with another tea. This tea is a perfect herbal tea. Relaxing, soothing, comforting, and cooling. Everything you would want in an herbal tea and more. The chamomile provides a baked dessert background while the peppermint (which is subtle) adds in just a touch of a cooling aesthetic. There is also a touch of a fruity flavor through the sip and the lavender delivers an ever so slight floral note. A lot of flavors in this blend, but they all work together and play nicely in my cuppa. I’m impressed with yet another of The Random Tea Room’s blends.
I was able to get about 4 infusions out of this one session with this tea. Even tried it iced and thought this herbal tea delivered a solid flavor. You can’t ask for a better herbal!
