Tasters Review:

Cooling Mint Tulsi Blend from Tao of Tea really surprised me!  Here’s why…

My sip started off a little gentle and mild and gained momentum as the sip continued!

It was more herbally at first but then grew into a wonderful mint experience.  It was creamy but minty-fresh!  I could taste the basil-likeness of the Tulsi and it was quite good.  It left a refreshing aftertaste!

This is a great Tulsi Tisane!  Or should I say HOLY LEAF Tisane?  I think Holy Leaf makes it sound more important!  In short, it’s basically a sweet basil…in case you aren’t familiar with Tulsi or Holy Leaf.

Tulsi has
Potential Health Benefits including:

  • Strengthens the immune system, promotes longevity and enhances well-being.
  • Promotes heart health by lowering cholesterol and high blood pressure.
  • Reduces the negative physical and psychological effects of stress.
  • Increases the body’s efficiency in using oxygen, which improves stamina, strength and endurance.
  • Promotes respiratory health.
  • Helps with digestion and gastrointestinal problems.
  • Neutralizes dangerous biochemicals that contribute to cancer, degenerative diseases and premature aging.
  • Facilitates healthy liver function.
  • Reduces cell and tissue damage from sun rays, radiation therapy and other radiation sources.
  • Relieves inflammation from arthritis and other diseases.
  • Helps fight infections.

If you haven’t tried Tulsi Tea or Holy Leaf Tea or Tisane’s before – give them a whirl!  This is a very good one to try!  I like it best paired with the minty-freshness and this tisane offers that and more!

Plum Berry from Rishi Tea

A blend of white teas combined with succulent plum and wild forest berries. It’s juicy with a deep ruby colored infusion that’s tart, fruity and naturally refreshing.

Tasters Review:

If you have followed this blog for a while now you may have noticed I tend to make special notes about plums from time to time.  They aren’t necessarily my favorite fruit but they are on my top fruits list!  The reason I mention them here on SororiTEA Sisters is because I sometime find an ingredient that I am on the constant search for that perfect taste or flavor or aroma or feel IN a tea.  Plum is one of those flavors!  Each time I see a tea with Plum in it – I will most likely try it.  With Plum – specifically – I am looking for a plumpiness to it even in my tea!  So I am looking for a plump and juicy plum flavored tea.  Not one that is artificial tasting or barely there.  I guess my plum tastes are quite specific one could say.

I’m not going to tell you that Plum Berry is my favorite Plum tea because it isn’t.  BUT…I am going to tell you what I do like about this tea and why it’s different and why I would have another cuppa!

The first thing that came to mind when I smelled this DRY and prior to infusing was KOOL AID!  Once infused it does smell more like plum and maybe a hint of raspberry.  I prefer the infused aroma better than the dry.  It is pretty juicy smelling!

Thumbs up to Rishi for creativity!  It’s quite plum and berry like and it’s juicy but you can also taste the white tea a little underneath.   It might be a little too flavored for some white tea purists but I think it’s alright!  If you are looking for a plum or berry fix and need something a little different – you might want to try this one!

Tasters Review:

This morning…I am in the presence of greatness!  That’s according to the World Tea Expo!  Rishi’s Sencha Yuzu also known as Yuzucha is a 2009 World Tea Expo Winner!

I must say this is truly unique…and I like unique!

It looks to have the powdery Sencha along with Yuzu pieces and lemon grass in the blend.  The aroma is a lovely but not over-done citrus.

I did two infusions of this.  As suggested my first attempt – I infused for 2 minutes and it was great!  I could taste the citrus and true green tea.  It was a little vegetal and a little sweet and grassy but then also citrus!

As for the 2nd infusion I also went with their suggestion of a minute to infuse and it was still very good – a very high quality solid green tea taste…sweet grass and vegetal, indeed.  But the Yuzu Citrus Fruit Flavor wasn’t as bold as the first infusion.  However, what I could taste of the Yuzu was still quite good.  Both infusions seem to leave a toasted-nutty sort of taste which was unexpected yet tasty.

I really like this offering and understand why it has won awards!

Tasters Review:

Last week was one of the hardest weeks for me.  Good Friends and Good Tea were the things that helped me thru it.  This was one of those teas.

Green Peace from Chad’s Chai and Tea Company is lovely.  I LOVE the name and it certainly lives up to it.

It’s pretty fragrant and tastes just like you think it would…refreshing and minty.  BUT…it’s still a true green tea taste!

I would recommend Green Peace to anyone who likes Green Tea, Mint, and Flavored Greens.  It’s calming, refreshing, peaceful, and tasty!

Om.
