Taster’s Review:
My first cup of this Taiwan Green Tea from Nuvola Tea was a very surprising cuppa! The flavor was so delicate and sweet! Mere hints of vegetation, mostly what I tasted was an almost candy-like sweetness with a soft mouthfeel and a very delicate quality to it.
I had expected a stronger flavor from it, though, so I decided to see what would happen when I brew the leaves a second time, and this is where the flavor intensified for me. This cup brought forth the vegetative notes that I expected. The second cup proved to be broth-y in texture and taste (imagine a vegetable broth that was made from leafy greens), with a slight (barely there, but it’s there when you focus on the sip!) citrus-y tone that expresses itself toward the end of the sip. There is a light astringency toward the tail, and the aftertaste is delicate and sweet, reminiscent of that first cup that I so enjoyed.
I find the flavor to be very crisp and pure, much what I’d expect from a green tea, but that first cup is different enough from other greens to make this tea one that you want to TRY! I like that it’s sweet, and that the slight tangy citrus note contrasts with the sweetness just enough to enliven the palate. It’s a very refreshing cuppa!
Another EXCELLENT tea from Nuvola Tea. Definitely one of the best pure green teas I’ve had in a while from a company that continues to impress me with it’s fine quality teas!
Ceremonial Grade Organic Matcha from Infussion
Tea Information:
Leaf Type: Green (Matcha)
Where to Buy: Infussion
Tea Description:
This is the cream of the crop of Japanese teas, imported directly from Uji, Kyoto. Tea leaves used for producing matcha are shaded for 20 days before the harvest. This guarantees low level of tannins and unusually high antioxidant, caffeine and l-theanine levels. Such leaves produce top potency tea devoid of bitterness. This is the only Camellia Sinensis product that has stems and veins of the leaves removed. Slow, cold grinding using granite mills is needed to produce finest Matcha and it can take up to 1h to produce 30g of this unique tea.

Taster’s Review:
This Ceremonial Grade Organic Matcha from Infussion is absolutely magnificent! It is so incredibly smooth and sweet!
The powdered tea whisks up to a beautiful, bright jade green liquid with lots and lots of froth that doesn’t disappear quickly! It stays nice and frothy! The green tea powder also does not separate quickly the way other Matcha can sometimes do. It remained incorporated as I continued to sip.
The aroma of the prepared Matcha is sweet and vegetative … redolent of freshly cut grass in the spring … when the grass buds are still new and fresh. It’s quite lovely.
The flavor is sweet and vegetal, tasting of sweet grass, but also of freshly steamed spinach that has been lightly buttered. There are faint notes of delectable bittersweet chocolate. The texture is creamy and smooth with no grit. The sweetness of this Matcha is really enchanting!
The more teas that I try from Infussion, the more I am impressed with this company! The quality of their teas is outstanding. If you like Matcha, this is one that you should try … it’s an excellent Ceremonial Grade Matcha and I love that it’s Organic too!

Taster’s Review:
This is so good! I’m nearly finished with my first cup of this Taiwan Oolong Black Tea from Nuvola Tea, and I’m finding it difficult to put the cup down long enough to write about it! It is so delicious!
The aroma wafting from the cup is sweet and woodsy … reminding me a bit of the air here in the Pacific Northwest after a rain. Go out to the forest-y areas after a good rain and you’ll know the smell I’m talking about: slightly earthy, with notes of aged wood and a hint of honeyed sweetness. It smells like something that should be bottled and sold as cologne!
The flavor has a deep, fruity taste, reminiscent of fresh, tree-ripened plums (you know … the kind of plums that are so sweet because they were ripened in the sun instead of ripened in a box on its way to the grocery store?) There is just a hint of sour to this as well … just enough to provide contrast without coming off as a strong, distinctively sour taste.
But mostly, this is sweet. I taste notes of honey, wood, flower, and fruit. There is some astringency toward the tail, but there is absolutely no bitterness to this. I recommend brewing this in a gaiwan, using short steeps. You’ll get a lot of mileage out of one measurement of leaves (I managed six very flavorful infusions and probably could have gotten at least two more!) and the flavor seems to develop with each subsequent steep!
This tea is truly an amazing experience – put this one at the top of your MUST TRY list!

Taster’s Review:
For several years now, I have always stated firmly that my favorite Oolong is Ali Shan … but, after having tried a few Da Yu Ling Oolong, I have to say that my favorite may have changed! Oh, I still love Ali Shan, of course, but, I am so infatuated with this Da Yu Ling Oolong Tea from Nuvola Tea right now, that I find it difficult to say that it is anything less than my favorite. This is an extraordinary tea!
Da Yu Ling does have some similarities to my beloved Ali Shan, but also some notable differences. I think what stands out most to me is how delicate it tastes … delicate, and yet … so rich. It amazes me how a tea can taste delicate and yet be so full-bodied. It is so smooth and delightfully floral. The floral tones tingle on the tip of my tongue. All at once, I taste notes of flower, fruit, honey, air and vegetation, and each element is presented in such a way as it seems to float over the palate in such a deliciously delightful way.
Subsequent infusions deliver a smoother flavor, where all the notes seem to come together in a very harmonious way and become less individual, and more of a collective flavor that is absolutely sumptuous … it is luxurious and beautiful to sip.
I managed eight very flavorful infusions, brewing it in my gaiwan, and combining the results of two infusions into one cup (which means four cups of tea!) This tea is definitely a worthwhile investment. I absolutely adore it!

Taster’s Review:
I have been drinking so much flavored Matcha that I’ve almost forgotten what pure, premium quality Matcha tastes like! Haha!
No, not really. But, I must admit that drinking this KaiMatcha Premium Matcha has reminded me what the higher quality of Matcha deliver, including a stronger, thicker froth, brighter green color, and sweeter, creamier taste.
And OH this tastes so good! It is thick and creamy, and it doesn’t taste at all gritty or chalky. Not even in the aftertaste. Just smooth, rich flavor.
The flavor here is – of course – vegetative, but, it is quite different from some of the lesser quality matcha I’ve tasted. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love those other Matcha too, and you know how much I’ve been drinking and swearing by all the flavored Matcha I’ve been drinking, but, sometimes, it’s just incredibly awesome to get back to some really good, pure Matcha. And it doesn’t get better than this.
The vegetal tones here are very mellow, like buttered, mild tasting veggies with just a hint of grass. There is absolutely no bitterness to this … not even a bittersweet taste. It’s just all sweet. And the sweetness lingers on the palate into the aftertaste. As does the creamy, buttery undertones. And this tea is RICH with the buttery notes.
But what I like best about this is how it takes the palate on an adventure. Sometimes, I taste just a hint of cocoa in the distance. And then, every once in a while, I taste a floral note. I notice a fruity tone sort of appear every now and then. None of these notes stay around long enough for me to really pinpoint them, they just sort of appear for a moment, dance on the tongue, and then disappear. It adds a really lovely element to the overall experience.
If you’re looking for the best high-quality Matcha … you really need look no further than this: KaiMatcha Premium. It is one of the very best I’ve tried. And as you know, I’ve tried a lot of Matcha. Sure, I’ve enjoyed others. And I can’t say that this one is better than all of the others that I’ve tried because I’m not tasting them side by side. But, I can say with complete confidence that this one deserves a top spot … and if it’s not number one, then it is in the top three. It is EXCELLENT!
