Taster’s Review:
I really love the fragrance of the dry leaf. The combination of the rose petal, Japanese Sencha and pomegranate flavor create a very delicious scent that is fruity and sweet, with lovely floral tones in the background.
The brewed tea takes on a stronger “green tea” aroma, smelling a bit like freshly steamed vegetables. There are still hints of pomegranate in there too, as well as a whisper of rose.
As for the taste: it is wonderful! The green tea is the most prominent flavor, and that’s a good thing. It tastes light, sweet, and slightly creamy with hints of buttery notes. There is a vegetative tone to the overall cup, but I like that it does not overwhelm it.
The pomegranate is tart and sweet. It tastes true to the fruit, although it is a little different because of the strong green tea notes. But, I like this, because pomegranate flavoring in tea can sometimes be too tart, but, because of the sweetness from the green tea, I find that the tartness is softened. It is still a little bit tart, but it isn’t too tart. The rose is not a strong flavor, but hints of the rose can be detected.
A really wonderful pomegranate tea, and it’s delicious hot or iced.

Taster’s Review:
I do adore pomegranate, but, they are a bit pricy to enjoy on a regular basis. That’s why I often turn to pomegranate flavored teas, because it’s a way to enjoy the flavor of pomegranate without paying a premium price for a piece of fruit.
This Pomtini has a nice pomegranate flavor. Sweet and a little tart, just like the fruit. The vanilla is a nice addition, providing a sweet, creamy taste to offset some of the tartness of the pomegranate.
The black tea is a smooth, mellow black tea. It isn’t what I’d call a strong or bold tasting tea, it seems perfectly content to sit off in the background and let the flavors of the pomegranate and vanilla take center stage. It isn’t overwhelmed at all, but, it isn’t overly aggressive, either.
This tea is tasty hot or iced. If you do choose to serve it iced, I recommending adding just a pinch of sugar to help amplify the flavors a bit, as they do mute slightly as the tea cools. Just a pinch of sugar helps keep the flavor without making the tea too sweet.
A very pleasant tea – fruit and sweet creamy flavor with just the right amount of tart-y contrast. Nice.
Pomegranate Matcha from Shanti Tea
Leaf Type: Green (Matcha)
Where to Buy: Shanti Tea
Tea Description:
Matcha tea is kind of like a super-powered green tea—since you’re ingesting the whole leaf instead of just the brewed beverage, you get up to ten times the antioxidant effect and nutritional value of your standard green. Matcha’s rich in antioxidants, as well as chlorophyll and fiber, and has been found to have natural mood enhancing effects. All in all, matcha’s got no match when it comes to healthy teas.

Taster’s Review:
I was excited to try this Matcha. I love pomegranates, they are one of my favorite fruits! However, since they tend to be a bit pricy, I don’t get a chance to enjoy them as often as I’d like to.
I didn’t make this as a latte, instead, I prepared it the same way I would normally prepare Matcha – except that I did not sift the Matcha. I find that with flavored Matcha, it is better not to sift. It whisked up nice and frothy, and possessed a color that was dark green. The froth dissipated within minutes, but then, the Matcha also managed to disappear pretty quickly so I’m not complaining!
The flavor of the Matcha is sweet and vegetative, although it isn’t as grassy or vegetative as some other Matcha teas that I’ve tasted. This one has more of a fruity note with a nice buttery undertone. It has a smooth, rich flavor, and I do not notice any gritty or chalky flavor from the Matcha (a big plus!)
The sweet, creamy flavor of the Matcha is the perfect base for the flavor of pomegranate. The tart, juicy flavor of the pomegranate shines through and is especially noticeable toward the tail of the sip. It tastes fresh and juicy, just like a pomegranate aril!
This makes a GREAT pick-me-up when I start feeling sluggish toward the afternoon. I felt full of energy after drinking it. I love this stuff!
Pomegranate Pear from Jennifer’s Tea Garden
HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM THE SORORITEA SISTERS!
Tea Information:
Leaf Type: Fruit Tisane
Where to Buy: Jennifer’s Tea Garden
Product Description:
Sweet pear calms and soothes while tart and tasty pomegranate adds color and zest to this vibrant blend! Simply delightful and wonderful iced. Naturally caffeine free.
Taster’s Review:
I chose this fruit tisane to review for today because these are two fruits that I associate with Thanksgiving. And this is really a wonderful tisane – one that would be great to serve along with dinner any time of year!
Even though the website does not indicate it, I suspect there is some hibiscus in this blend, I thought I spotted a few hibiscus petals in the dry leaf (which is comprised mostly of big chunks of fruit), and the tea brews up to a deep, ruby red hue which is indicative (usually) of hibiscus in the blend.
But, I’m happy to say that this doesn’t taste strongly of hibiscus. There may be a slight hibiscus-y tartness to this, but it is offset nicely by the sweetness of the pear. This tastes more sweet than tart (which is quite alright with me and my sweet tooth), and that is pretty surprising for a fruit tisane with hibiscus! Surprising, yes. Disappointing? No!
This has a remarkable flavor to it. Of course, it doesn’t taste like tea because there is no tea in it. It tastes very fruity. It is pleasantly sweet. It is just a little bit tart. I can taste the pear quite well in this (and pear tends to be one of those fruits that is really difficult to NAIL in a tea/tisane blend). I also taste the pomegranate here, as well as hints of other berries. I taste an apple-y kind of taste as well. It is a very ambrosial kind of flavor, and it is just perfect for the holiday!
I would like to take this moment to thank you, our readers, for making this such a happy year for the SororiTea Sisters. We love tea, and we are so glad to have the opportunity to share our love of tea with you. I am very thankful for each and every one of you! Enjoy your day with your family and dear friends, if you can’t be together on this day then let it be a day that you are with them in spirit… and of course, don’t forget to enjoy some tea, too! ~Anne aka LiberTEAS
Green Pomegranate from Persimmon Tree
Leaf Type: Green
Where to Buy: The Persimmon Tree
Product Description:
This scrumptious fusion of organic green loose-leaf tea, organic raspberries and essence of pomegranate brings a tart and tangy rush to the palate.
Taster’s Review:
One of the fruits I think of during this time of year is the pomegranate. I sometimes add some pomegranate juice to my cranberry compote on Thanksgiving, and I love to decorate the holiday table with pomegranates. They have a rustic look to them, and their color is very autumn-y. Plus… after the holiday is over, I get to eat the pomegranate!
Pomegranate is one of my favorite fruits, but one I don’t buy often because the price is often a bit too pricy for something that not everyone in the family is as excited about as I am. So rather than buy a lot of pomegranates for myself, I indulge in pomegranate tea to satisfy that craving for this favorite.
The fragrance of the dry leaf smells amazing – it is bright and smells of juicy, delicious red fruit – raspberries and pomegranate. The aroma of the brewed liquor is similar, although it is not quite as strong as the dry leaf.
The flavor is light and refreshing. The green tea has what I would classify as a “moderate” vegetative taste to it – not what I would consider a delicate note, but not overwhelmingly strong either. Just somewhere in the middle, perhaps leaning a bit more toward the delicate than the strong.
This blend has been expertly flavored. The flavors of pomegranate and raspberry are light enough so they do not overwhelm the crisp green tea flavor, but, strong enough so that the flavors can be easily recognizable. The fruit tastes sweet and tart without being too tart.
I don’t taste much from the rosehip, I think it was probably added more for aesthetic value than for flavor (although rosehip also contributes a significant amount of vitamin C!)
Overall, I find this to be a very enjoyable pomegranate flavored green tea, and I think it would make a great tea to serve during Thanksgiving, too!
