Taster’s Review:
This is wonderful!
The white tea is delicate – but not too delicate. It has a bit more body and flavor than the typical Silver Needle, this is closer to a Bai Mu Dan or perhaps a Sowmee (Shou Mei) … or maybe even a blend of white teas. After examining the package a little closer, I see that this is indeed a Bai Mu Dan.
It is a perfect pairing (pearing) with the softer flavor of the pear. The subtly of the tea allows for the pear to express itself fully – which in turn produces a sweet, flavorful tea that offers an incredible balance between tea and fruit flavors.
This is a tea that I could enjoy on a regular basis. It has a light, hay-like note that gives it an almost “baked goods” kind of flavor … care for a pear tart? That’s what I’m tasting with this cup of tea! It is sweet and creamy and delicious!
And as it cools, the flavor does not diminish … this would make an awesome iced tea! Makes for fantastic refreshment any time of day – light enough for later in the evening, flavorful enough to offer a tasty recharge in the afternoon.

Taster’s Review:
This tea is really good. I’m really surprised at how well the flavor comes through.
So often with flavors like this, the flavoring is added either too sparingly added and cannot be tasted, or the flavor is too heavily added and ends up tasting artificial. Here, it is perfect – not so strong that it tastes fake or masks the taste of the green tea, and not so light that I cannot taste the sweet, juicy flavor of Asian Pear.
The green tea is the strongest flavor of the cup – and it has a sweet, fresh taste. Slightly grassy and a little bit buttery. Very pleasant, and a nice pairing with the flavor of Asian Pear – which is sweet and delicious and very authentic tasting. It tastes as though I have just taken a bite of a crisp, juicy Asian Pear!
I also taste just a mild floral note coming through from the orange blossom. This isn’t a strong flavor, but the subtle contrasts it offers really pleasing to the palate. A really enjoyable tea. It’s great hot or cold – I think I prefer it iced, it is just so refreshing! Light and very thirst quenching. Nice!

Taster’s Review:
This tea smells incredible. I’d never think of combining the aromas of pear and rose together to create something so pleasing to the nose, but, it really is delightful … inspiring me to imagine walking through a pear orchard that is “fenced in” by rows of rose bushes, with the breeze gently picking up the fragrance of the rose and the pear and swirling them around in the air as I stroll.
What I really like, though, is the fact that I not only smell the pear, but I taste it too. It seems that pear is a difficult flavor to nail for some tea artists, because more often than not, it seems, when I encounter a pear flavored tea, I taste tea but I don’t a lot of pear. Pear is one of those delicate, sumptuous fruits that need to be expressed “just so” … and all too often, tea artists aren’t able to capture the flavor.
But I taste the pear here. And I taste the rose! And what an interesting flavor these two ingredients create together. The rose tastes sweet and floral and exotic, while the pear has a deliciously sweet taste – a distinct pear taste!
And amidst all this excitement over the flavors, you might think that the Pai Mu Dan has been forgotten, or worse, not even noticed because its flavor had been obscured by the pear and rose … but that certainly is not the case. The white tea is fresh, light and delicately vegetative. It melds beautifully with the pear and the rose to create a very lush, relaxing cup of tea … this is a lovely tea, indeed.

Taster’s Review:
This is a really tasty combination of flavors.
What I’m liking best about this blend is that while the apple and pear flavors come through very well, the flavor of the green tea is the strongest note. The green tea is lightly grassy, sweet, and smooth. It has a well-rounded flavor and a soft mouthfeel.
The apple and pear go together so well. Pear is typically a difficult flavor when it comes to tea, more often than not, the pear flavor is so delicate that it is almost indistinguishable. But, here, it is as though the apple is helping to highlight the sweet, luscious flavor of the pear.
The overall flavor is sweet, fruity, and pleasantly vegetative. A very nice green tea that is delicious served hot, but even better iced! The green tea notes soften just a little bit when it cools – not so much that you can’t taste the green tea, but the grassy tones become a little softer and smoother. And the fruit flavors really seem to pop when it cools.
This one is a winner!

Taster’s Review:
I tend to find myself a bit skeptical when it comes to pear flavored teas, especially pear flavored green teas. That’s because back in my tea flavoring/blending days, I created what I felt was the very best pear flavored green tea, and I still have yet to find one that is as good.
But that doesn’t mean that I’m not enjoying this pear flavored green tea. Quite the opposite, actually. It’s really tasty!
The Chun Mee base is an interesting choice but it works surprisingly well with the delicate flavor of the pear. I say surprising because its been my experience that Chun Mee (also known as “Precious Eyebrow”) tends to have a strong “green tea” flavor – that is to say it tends to be a bit on the grassy side. With this stronger flavor, could the delicate sweetness of the pear shine through?
The answer is yes. I can taste the sweet, delicious flavor of pear, as well as the full-flavored Chun Mee. The Chun Mee is sweet, grassy with hints of seaweed. There are lovely hints of plum in there too, and these are very complementary to the notes of pear. The Chun Mee is more assertive than the pear flavor here, but, it doesn’t overwhelm it entirely.
A delicious pear flavored green with a very enticing composition of flavors.
