Taster’s Review:
When I first steeped this tea, I steeped it at a low temperature (as I generally do with green teas) for three minutes. And, I found that the flavor was very mild, to the point of being very difficult to discern. So, I decided to steep it for another two full minutes, and the flavor was a little stronger. A drizzle of agave nectar really helped the flavors to pop.
The Sencha base is smooth and sweet with a creamy buttery note. The pineapple and papaya flavors lend their sweet tropical flair to the cup. The pineapple has a nice tangy note to it that tickles the tip of the tongue in the aftertaste.
As I mentioned at the start of this review, these flavors are a bit on the softer side. But that’s OK, because the Sencha is front and center here and that is the way it should be. It is a light, refreshing cup that is a pleasure to sip. This is good iced, too, but I would recommend adding a little bit more sweetener to it to help enhance the flavor.

Black tea is most commonly produced in South Asia and Africa. It has a stronger flavor than most other teas and also has higher caffeine content. Black tea is prepared from the leaves of Camellia Sinensis and it is the most fermented of all teas. Black tea from Ceylon Tea is primarily produced using the orthodox method, where tea leaves are first harvested and then rolled to small pieces and fermented. The fermented tea leaves are dried using fire kilns. This process gives black tea its characteristic strong, full-bodied flavor and deep brown color.
Papaya is a tropical fruit that originally grew in southern Mexico. Passion fruit, also a tropical fruit was originally frown in Central America. Both are now cultivated in most countries with a tropical climate, such as Brazil, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. While papaya is an excellent and refreshing end to any meal, the distinct taste of passion fruit makes it an essential ingredient for cocktails. We have mixed these two contrasting, but complimentary flavors in a secret blend and mixed it with Pure Ceylon high grown tea to produce an exciting and refreshing drink.
Taster’s Review:
As I sit here, it is cold outside. Really cold. Frost forming on the windows kind of cold. Not exactly a tropical climate.
But, my teacup thinks it’s on an island getaway, thanks to this Papaya & Passion Fruit Black Tea. The tropical fruit flavors in this tea are sweet and delicious, while the black tea edges in just enough of its flavor to keep the sweeter tastes from becoming too cloying.
The black tea is a Ceylon base, and perhaps it’s just the combination of flavors, but I’m finding this to be quite a strong tea for a Ceylon. There are hints of bitterness in the background too, but not from over-steeping (I steeped just 3 minutes). It is more of a savory kind of bitterness that does its part to keep the cup complex and interesting, and cutting through some of the sweeter notes of the fruit flavors so they don’t overpower the cup.
A nice balance between tea and fruit flavor here where the tea flavor wins out over the fruit – but not by much.
This is a good summertime tea (yeah, I know it’s not summer), one that should be brewed by the gallon and kept in the icebox. It would be great as a sun tea too! This is a delicious black tea blend – one that is nice served hot, but I think it’s even better chilled. It is very refreshing and the tropical taste lends itself so well to a cool glass of iced tea.

Yum!!! This is so tasty.
One quick glance at the ingredient list might lead someone to believe that this is going to be a very fruity tea – and it is – but, it isn’t SO fruity that it overwhelms the flavor of the green tea.
The green tea is light-bodied and light in flavor, but it adds a crisp, fresh taste to the fruit that is distinct. It isn’t very grassy or vegetative to taste; if you’re one that doesn’t care for green tea because it does come off as too grassy or vegetative, this is an excellent choice for you!
There is a lot of different fruit tastes here. I can taste hints of each fruit, but the two that stand out the most definitively to me are the orange and the cranberry. There is also a certain “tropical-y” taste to this, like the Elves on holiday!
It is sweet (almost candy like!) and there is a hint of tartness toward the end of the sip. Due to the sweetness of this cup, it is one that I recommend tasting before you add additional sweetener – you may find this one to be just right without it.
I can see why David’s Tea decided to make this a holiday-ish blend – it definitely reminds me of Christmas with its delicious flavor. It does remind me a bit of a fruitcake (which I happen to like although sometimes I think I’m the only one who does!)
It is sweet, fruity and delicious. A tea that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys flavored green teas – this one is one I could enjoy again and again! Love it!

This is such a FUN tea! Elf Help Green Tea has VERY colorful ingredients and is highly scented!
I can taste the green tea, sure, but there is a fruit salad type quality to it that I just can’t shake! I’m SO THANKFUL there isn’t Hibiscus in this! Thanks for that, DavidsTea!

I know you shouldn’t judge a tea by it’s name but I at least get excited about a tea and trying a tea based on the name, sometimes, I’m not going to lie! This is one of those teas!
The INTENSE Aroma of Garden of Eden Tea from Praise Tea is what hits you as soon as you open the bag! It’s mostly mango scented but you can tell there are other smells IN there too! But that Mango really hit me! Good for me – I adore mango!
The taste is great! Although it tastes much different than it smells. ALL the fruit flavors blend together nicely and nothing really steps in front of the other flavors by too much.
For the 2nd infusion I could taste the peach more tho! Both infusions the black tea was bold and and flavors were wonderful!
Delicious!
