Taster’s Review:
Delicious!
The fruit flavoring is very strong in this tea. It is a beautiful medley of fruit: crisp apple, juicy mango, lush peach, sweet papaya and tangy orange. Each of these flavors are well-represented in this tea, and I like that despite the strong fruit presence, the flavor of the black tea does not become hidden.
The black tea is a brisk tea. It isn’t what I would call a particularly bold or assertive tea, but it is strong enough to hold its own. It offers a very tasty base for the ambrosial blend of fruit. It has a moderate amount of astringency but so long as it is not over-steeped it doesn’t taste bitter.
It is difficult to say which fruit is the most pronounced in this blend, because I can taste notes of each. At the start, the peach is what stood out most for me, but as I continued to sip, the orange started to really pop. The apple is smooth and even and has a constant presence in this cup from start to finish. The papaya and mango compliment each other well and give this tea definite tropical flair, although I don’t know that I’d call this a “tropical” tea. It is a fruit flavored tea with tropical notes.
I really enjoyed this tea. I liked it hot and iced, but in this weather – it’s best iced. I don’t know if that opinion would change if I were writing this review in autumn or winter, but since we’re experiencing some very warm weather I want most of my teas cold! It doesn’t need sweetening – it’s very tasty served straight – but I found that a little bit of agave nectar (a little goes a long way with this tea!) highlighted the flavors wonderfully. I don’t recommend adding milk, though, as I think it would overwhelm the unique balance of flavors that this tea has to offer.
Another awesome tea from Praise Tea!
Mango Maté from Fusion Tea Room
Leaf Type: Yerba Maté
Where to Buy: Fusion Tea Room
Product Description:
The elegance of this blend is simple and sophisticated. Our unsmoked yerba mate infused with the flavor of ripe mangoes. Very smooth that goes down easy. You ‘ll forget you’re actually drinking mate because the astringency and bitterness that so many other brands have isn’t there. Energize your midday over ice. Love it, drink it, share it.
Taster’s Review:
I have to agree with the above description, this is very smooth, it goes down easily! There is no astringency and no bitterness. It is sweet and absolutely delicious. This just may be my favorite Yerba Maté blend yet.
Although I must say that I don’t actually forget that I am sipping on Yerba Maté, because it tastes like Yerba Maté. It does lack the sometimes bitter taste that accompanies a typical smoked Yerba Maté, but beyond that, I can taste the vegetative and earthy qualities of the Maté. It also has that invigorating quality of Yerba Maté. This is a Yerba Maté blend I’d recommend to those who have tried Yerba Maté in the past and found it to be a little off-putting. This blend will change their mind!
The mango tastes sweet. It’s a very vibrant fruit flavor – very authentic and juicy. The fruit melds so beautifully with the vegetal taste of the green Yerba Maté. The vegetative taste is a little more prominent than the earthy quality of the Maté here, and the flavors unite so harmoniously.
As I said before, I’d recommend this to anyone who has tried Yerba Maté in the past and didn’t care for it – this one will change your mind. I’d also recommend this one to the Yerba Maté newbies out there. Heck, I’d recommend this one to anybody – it’s that good!

Black tea with lemon and mango.
Taster’s Review:
I found this particular blend to be intriguing simply because of the combination. I love mango flavored lemonade, and I was hoping that this might offer a little bit of that taste together with a rich black tea background.
And it does! The mango flavor is sweet and mild, and the lemon offers a hint of tartness. It isn’t as powerful of a flavor as a mango lemonade would be, but, I wasn’t expecting it to be quite like that, either. But what it does present is an example of how well mango and lemon work together.
The black tea is the strongest flavor of this cup – as well it should be. This is, after all, TEA! It has a very strong, brisk taste to it. It’s actually quite bold, much more so than I expected. I didn’t think this was a Ceylon based upon its flavor, and when I questioned it, Tea Licious confirmed that this is a Nilgiri base. That makes sense, because this has some gusto to it without overwhelming the lighter flavors of mango and lemon.
These are two flavors that if one or the other was overdone, it would overpower the cup. Here, it is blended masterfully, offering juicy notes of mango and lemon without letting these flavors get carried away.
I prefer this tea iced. It is delicious hot too, but, I find it much more refreshing as an iced tea. It is one that you’ll be proud to serve at the family picnic or even to friends as they visit. This one should be a summertime staple!
Green Mango Peach from Tea Forté
Leaf Type: Green Tea & Honeybush
Where to Buy: Tea Forté
Product Description:
Fragrant mangoes and peach scent every cup of our lightly steamed green tea with honeybush and a touch of peppermint.
Taster’s Review:
I received a “single steep” package of this tea along with my KATI tumbler, and before I get too deep into reviewing this tea, I want to say that I just love these single steep packages! They are pre-measured with just the right amount of tea for my KATI cup. Armed with the KATI tumbler and some of these single steep packages, a tea lover has just about everything they need to brew a delicious cup of loose leaf tea anywhere they go! Just add hot water!
Now… on to the tea! The flavors of mango and peach permeate each sip of this tea. It is intensely flavored! The green tea base is able to hold its own though, and isn’t overwhelmed. I can taste the fresh, light taste of green tea in the background.
Less noticeable is the flavor of the honeybush, although I can taste the honey-like sweetness from it. The mint in this blend offers a herbaceous, somewhat medicinal taste to the cup that is reminiscent to menthol. I don’t find this to be off-putting, but I can see how others might. The flavor doesn’t overpower the cup, and I will say that the mint flavor lends a very nice minty aftertaste to the tea experience.
I like the ginger’s presence in this cup. It is not too strong, but it adds a nice dimension of flavor and cuts through the sweeter notes of the fruit. It has a well-rounded taste to it. A lovely afternoon cuppa!
