Taster’s Review:
This is truly a joyous tea!
The green tea flavor is light and smooth. I don’t get a strong “grassy” or “vegetable” taste to this, although there is an overall herbaceous background to this cup. The green rooibos add just enough “sparkle” and lightness to the cup to keep it from being too overwhelmingly creamy.
As you can probably ascertain from my previous comment, this is a very creamy cup of tea. The vanilla tones are sweet and undeniably creamy, but I think that the presence of the lemony tones help to cut through some of the sweetness so that it doesn’t come across as cloying. The result is a flavor that is quite decadent and dessert-like without being too sweet.
The ingredients list ginger as one of the ingredients, but I must tell you that I really don’t taste much from the ginger except for possibly the faintest hint of spice in the distance. It is barely noticeable, and had I not read the ingredient list, it is not something I would have commented on because it is that faint. The same is true of the lavender and the ashwagandha (aka Indian Ginsing).
That being said, I can’t say that this blend would taste quite the same with these ingredients omitted from the blend. Their role in this blend may have a bit more to do with the motto of Teamotions: “Teas for emotional well-being.”
There is absolutely no bitterness to this tea, and no real sign of astringency either. It is sweet and luscious and a bit like what I’d imagine it would taste like if I were to put a slice of lemon meringue pie in the blender with some green tea.
I really enjoyed this tea – much more than I thought I would. It’s one of the better lemon/vanilla or lemon meringue type teas I’ve encountered. It’s so yummy, that I’d recommend this tea based on flavor alone … consider the health/emotional wellness benefits a bonus!
Earl Grey Lavender from Tea Addiction
Leaf Type: Black
Where to Buy: Tea Addiction
Product Description:
Ingredients: Blended black tea, lavender, jasmine, and flavoring.
Is the stress of life getting to you?
Enjoy a cup of Earl Grey Lavender with its relaxing lavender scent and flavor. The beautiful purple flowers are said to ease headaches, insomnia, and stress. The addition of jasmine flowers is thought to relieve stress, elevate the mood, and aid in digestion. This steep is definitely not the typical Earl Grey!
Taster’s Review:
As the above description suggests, this is not the typical Earl Grey – but it is an excellent Earl Grey! Superb!
When I opened the package, my nose was greeted with the beautiful fragrance of bergamot, lavender and a hint of jasmine. I did not expect to see so many flower blossoms and petals in the tin – this is definitely a tea that you need to shake gently before opening to redistribute the flowers evenly throughout the tea. A small amount of effort to exert for one of the very best lavender flavored Earl Grey teas I’ve ever tasted!
The black tea flavor is pleasantly brisk and offers a nice background flavor. While it lends its strong flavor to the cup, it seems perfectly content to allow the flavors to really come through and express themselves fully.
The lavender is strong, but it doesn’t overpower the blend. Instead, it is masterfully balanced with the bergamot, giving just enough of its flavor to the bergamot to accent some of the flowery notes of the fruit. I can also taste a hint of the jasmine. It isn’t a strong jasmine presence but that little note of jasmine adds a very interesting dimension to the cup.
As I’ve already eluded to, this is a well-balanced cup. The bergamot does not try to overwhelm the lavender just as the lavender does not overpower the bergamot. And somehow, the addition of the flowery flavors not only enhances the flowery taste of the bergamot, but, it also allows the citrus flavors to shine through.
The overall cup is sweet, feminine and juicy! I love this!

Hibiscus, Lemon Balm, Rose Petals,

Tasters Review:
I’m not going to lie…when I was finished infusing this the color of it frightened me! I was also worried about the Hibiscus – many of you know my trials and tribulations with that ingredient…BUT…
This IS pretty pleasant! I’ve VERY shocked and surprised that the level of hibiscus is what it is! As it cooled – I could taste more tartiness so I will drink this HOT! If you are after the fruitier or tartier flavor you might like it cooler. The Lemon Balm follows it as far as ingredients that pop out a little more than the others but the one that lingers is the Lavender and it’s a pretty lavender as well as a little chewy…if you can picture that!! The rose and Orange are about equal in taste-intensity and that is subtle.
This is pretty and sassy and different all in one…I think it’s a neat blend and tastes alright! If you are looking for a positive blend and something that is positively unique…give this one a whirl!
Foreign Affair from East Pacific Tea Co.
Leaf Type: Rooibos
Where to Buy: East Pacific Tea Co.
Product Description:
Our Foreign Affair blend features buds from flowers of the Provence region in France. This rooibos tea is the most deliciously aromatic combination currently offered.
Taster’s Review:
This rooibos blend is beautifully fragrant. The dry leaf beacons me to brew it, while the brewed liquor beacons me to sip. The lavender and rose perfume the tea so pleasantly, while the fruit notes come through to cut through some of the floral notes just enough so that the tea doesn’t become all about the flowers.
What I like best about this blend is that the flavor of the rooibos is quite subtle. I can taste the rooibos, but only mere hints of a nutty, woodsy taste, and none of that weird sweetness that often comes from rooibos. The rooibos here seems quite content to let the fruit and flowers do all the work – and that’s quite alright with me.
The lavender and rose are a delightful pairing. Together, these two flowers give a slightly sweet, decidedly feminine taste to the cup. It is not unpleasantly sharp or bitter. The fruit flavors of blueberry, raisin, black currant and red currant offer a light tartness and just enough sweetness to the cup without going overboard.
The tea finishes soft and slightly tangy. It is a pleasing contrast of flavors: sweet and tart; fruit and flower. And it makes for a refreshing, restorative tisane that is delicious any time of the day, but especially in the evening when you want to succumb to the relaxation it offers.

Taster’s Review:
I was a little confused when I read the packaging – the list of ingredients on the card that came with this sample of tea doesn’t include cinnamon, but I was certain it was in there. I could smell it and taste it. I was a little worried that somehow my olfactory nerve and taste buds were off. After visiting the website I see that there is, indeed, cinnamon in the blend.
So at least my nose and tongue aren’t so off after all. But I still worried that this tisane would be very hibiscus-y since it was the first ingredient listed. But really, the hibiscus isn’t very dominant here. It adds some much needed body (without it, I think this would be a dismally thin cuppa) and color, as well as just a hint of flavor that enhances the citrus-y tones of the cup.
That being said, as this tisane cools the hibiscus flavor does start to become more aggressive – so if you like the taste of hibiscus, drink this iced. If you’re not a fan of hibiscus, I suggest drinking it hot!
The primary flavors of this cup are the citrus-y tones (most notably, orange) and the cinnamon, and it makes for a very nice, warmly spiced orange-y tisane. I can taste the rose and the lavender also, but, these are not particularly strong in this cup. The lemon balm adds just a hint of lemon-y flavor, but without lemon-y pucker. It is a very charming balance of tastes.
A beautiful herbal blend that is just as good for you as it is delicious to drink! Cheers!
