Taster’s Review:
This Secret Garden Tea Blend from Kaleisia Tea has a little bit of EVERYTHING in it! White tea, green tea, black tea … fruit bits … and a whole lot of flavor!
Since this blend seems to be primarily green tea, I went with a lower brew temperature (185°F) and steeped the tea for 2 1/2 minutes in my Breville One- Touch. And the results are tasty!
Fruit flavor hits the palate first, although … it is more like a “medley” of fruit flavors rather than one specific fruit note. Kind of like a bite of ambrosia salad where you taste several fruit notes all at once and it’s difficult to pin-point exactly which fruit you’re tasting. It’s a very refreshing fruit taste though!
As far as tea flavor goes, green tea is what I taste most. That sweet, sort of leafy/grassy note that is very fresh and crisp. It’s a nice contrast with the sweet and sour fruit notes that tantalize the palate at the start of the sip. There is a sweet, creaminess to the tea notes as well, is that the white tea or the buttery notes from the Sencha? I can’t be sure, but, I like the way it comes together with the fruit notes. I don’t taste a whole lot of white tea here, nor do I notice much from the Darjeeling black tea, although I can’t say that this blend would taste the same without those tea leaves being a part of this blend.
As I continue to sip, I realize that I’m tasting mostly a “tropical” sort of taste: notes of pineapple, mango, and papaya, with a strawberry background note. I taste the sweetness of the apricot too. The sour tones of the currant and the cherry come through near the finish, but these are not very strong flavors. The fruit notes, overall, are more “melded” together as a unified flavor … like some kind of “ultra-fruit” but, if I aerate the sip by slurping, I can pick out individual fruit notes.
I like that this blend is more sweet than it is sour, because I’m not a huge fan of the sour taste as I’ve said many times. While this does seem to be a rather “busy” blend … I find it enjoyable. I like it better iced than hot, so, I’ll be brewing more of this later for my iced tea pitcher and enjoy it all day long tomorrow!

Taster’s Review:
It just started raining outside (I do live in the Pacific Northwest, and it’s been known to rain here from time to time), and I thought that this would be a perfect time to try this Rain Drop tea from Kaleisia.
This tea is really tasty. The strawberry flavor is good and strong, with a sweet berry flavor with that tingly-tart aftertaste – just like the real thing! The orange notes accent the strawberry nicely, giving the cup a nice depth and contrast. The flowers here lend a very faint floral tone to the cup, I think that they are added more for appearances than for actual flavor, though … and with that in mind they do certainly make the dry leaf look very appealing.
The green tea tastes lightly buttery, just very slightly creamy, with a hint of vegetative taste that tastes a bit more grassy than vegetable-like. It is a very fresh sort of grass taste though, and I find that it lends itself well to the overall “fresh” taste of the cup. It tastes like springtime!
A very nice cuppa. This one tastes really good iced too!

Taster’s Review:
I’ve often said that my three favorite “flavors” for tea are chocolate, bergamot and jasmine (not necessarily in that order). But if I were to list my four favorite flavors, I think caramel would be the fourth, only narrowly missing the mark as one of the top three. In fact, I think there is a part of me that probably prefers caramel flavored tea better than chocolate flavored tea because the sweetness of the caramel seems to go so perfectly with the flavor of tea (especially black tea) but the chocoholic in me won’t let caramel over-ride the chocolate. It’s an internal battle that I must contend with daily.
So, when I found this tea that promised me a creamy, caramel-y toffee flavor with a robust black tea, I couldn’t resist … I had to try it!
And this tea does deliver what it promised! This cup is rich and delicious, with lots of sweet, caramel-y flavor. The black tea is a good, solid black tea – perhaps not the most robust tea I’ve ever tasted, but, it provides a good background for the toffee flavor. I like that it is sweet and creamy without additions, however, if you wish to enhance the creaminess a bit, try adding a splash of milk or cream.
This is the first tea that I’ve tried from Kaleisia, and I’m quite pleased with what I’ve tasted. It makes a delectable dessert tea, and even a nice breakfast tea … for those of us who like to have our dessert first thing in the morning!
