Taster’s Review:

I love chamomile teas.  I drink a lot of them too.  At night there really isn’t anything more soothing than to drink a nice glass of chamomile tea, relieving the stress of your day.

I picked up a couple teas from this adorable shop on Etsy.  This was the second one I’ve reviewed for SororiTea Sisters and this one I am extremely pleased with.  This tea originally has lavender in it.  I have yet to find a lavender tea that I really like.  So I emailed the owner and she was able to remove that from the blend.  Score one for Customer Service!

I first had this one hot the other night with my boyfriend.  We liked it, but it honestly tasted like a lot of chamomile teas.  The chamomile really took over.  The rest of the flavors just played to the side a bit and created a nice pleasing quality to it.  Overall I did like it, but I can’t say it would stand out among  other chamomile herbal teas.

So I dropped the tin in my work backpack and figured I’d try it at work.  This is where the tea that was the wallflower tea really stood out to me! Iced this is fantastic! It tastes like a sweet lemon dessert with hints of mint.  There is also a creaminess to it.  I am loving it.  I think iced is the one to go with this one. I recommend this one for a tasty afternoon treat or even in the morning if you are going caffeine free.  Glad I ordered two tins of this!

Taster’s Review:

This is a very unique tea.  I picked this up from one of my fellow SororiTea Sisters- thelastdodo a while ago.  It is such a interesting sounding tea I just had to try it.

So I steeped this up per the instructions on the bag, 195F-3-5 minutes and threw in a few tea bags.  I let it steep and then dumped in some ice for an iced tea.  Took a sip. . .Wow, this is oddly refreshing!

When I opened the bag, I noticed that there was a sweet savory smell to the tea.  There are only two ingredients to this one. . . sage and mint.  Both flavors stand out strong and mingle together in an intriguing way.  You pick up the savory aspects from the sage and the sweetness from the mint.  Very nice and like I said, refreshing. This would be great if you are camping outdoors or just enjoying nature.  Makes me want to plan a spur of the moment trip!

Can’t say this is a favorite or one that I will grab again and again.  But I can say I am enjoying this.  I know of a few tea friends that would probably enjoy this more than myself so I will share this with them.

Taster’s Review:

I have never had Rishi teas (at least not that I could remember) before nor have I had a lot of Pu-erh.  So when I saw this the other day while I was online, I thought I’d give it a whirl.

Steeped this one up per the instructions on the box.  2 tbsp with 1 cup  of boiling water on my stove top.  Brought the mixture to a boil and then added a cup of almond milk and brought the mixture up to a simmer.  Once I was at that point I removed the pot from the heat and let the tea do its thing and steeped for 3 minutes.  After I steeped it for 3 minutes, I added some honey to my mug and strained the tea into the mug.  Seems like a  lot of steps for a  simple cup of tea but this is anything but a simple cup of tea.

This chai mixture has pu-erh instead of black tea or green.  I can’t say I’ve ever had a pu-erh chai blend before.  I am a newbie when it comes to pu-erh so please bare with me.

First sip and I was immediately greeted with this beautiful blend of earth tones and sweet cinnamon spices. Sweet and savory at the same time.  The vanilla just added to the sweetness/creaminess factor and the almond milk brought out more of the earthiness and gave the tea a well rounded balance.    The mint gave the tea a refreshing after taste.  It was very light and faint.  I could barely pick it up.

I think I finished the cup in about 2 minutes flat.  I really enjoyed this.  My first voyage into pu-erh chai was a success.  I think I may have to check out some pu-erh blends now.

Taster’s Review:

I wish we had a tea shop where I live.  About the extent we have are grocery stores and some coffee shops around the area.  So when I see shops like Piper & Leaf, I seem to get a wee bit jealous.  This has to be one of the cutest shops I’ve seen online in a while. They even sell these very cool drinking jars with their logo on them.   (Those might just end up in my cart one of these days)

peachesandcream1This tea smells like peach candy! It smells fruity and brews up to a very pretty amber color.  I made this tea up per their instructions and then dumped the tea into a huge glass of ice.  First taste and I was surprised.  I’m not picking up the intended peaches’n cream sort of flavor.  This tea comes across as being very tart.  I am for sure picking up the hibiscus that is in this blend.  It almost seems to over take the tea, which makes me sad.  From the description this tea sounds like it would be a great light tea for the summer.  The pineapple flavor is also there and shows up more and more as I drink the tea. The black tea base is also pretty overwhelming, giving the tea a slight astringent factor.  It is good, just not what I was hoping for.  I am completely missing the Peaches ‘N Cream flavor.

I wish the tea tasted more like what the name of it is.  A great iced Peaches ‘N Cream tea would be fantastic for the summer.  I wonder if it would be better with a green tea base. . . or maybe even a green rooibos base. . .

I probably just need to try again and shake the bag up more.  This little bump is in no way going to stop me from placing an order for some more samples.  There are some tasty looking blends on their site that I think I just have to try!

NOTE:  The second infusion was a lot better than the second.  I added in another scoop of tea as well.  The creaminess shone thru and the vanilla became a star.  I think if you “monkey” around with the steepings and a few other variables a bit you can pull out the Peaches ‘N Cream flavor.

Taster’s Review:

Since starting with the SororiTea Sisters, I have been trying to make myself try teas that I normally wouldn’t.  Ginger and I have not always been friends and it is in so many teas.  It limits what I have tried in the past.  I think my tastes are starting to change though.  I have been finding teas with ginger that I’m finding myself starting to crave.  This is one of them.

I stumbled upon this company on Amazon the other day. I had never even heard of them.  From what I’m learning, this company is mainly into coffee or that is the first reaction you get when you check out their home page.  They have quite a nice line up of single serve coffee blends that I will probably pick up for my boyfriend (who is addicted to our Keurig).

After gandering the coffee selection a bit, I hopped over to the tea selection.  Wow, they have quite a selection.  It looks like they even have some award winning teas.  Unfortunately a lot of these teas have red rooibos in them.  So I was happy when I found the Ginger Apple Swirl that had green rooibos in it.  (We seriously need a green rooibos revolution!) This instantly went into my cart.

Upon opening the package, the tea smells just like apple cider.  Like the kind you get at our local orchard.  I steeped up the tea per the instructions on the package but I did put in an 2 extra tsps.  I knew I wanted this iced.  After the tea finished steeping for 3 minutes, I dumped the tea into a big cup of ice.  The smell of this tea steeping just screamed Apple Cider.

Took my first sip, yep.  Apple Cider tasting as well! Very good.  All of the flavors play together nicely and create the taste you would want after smelling the tea.  The apple flavoring is the main flavor with the ginger following suit.  A tea that tastes exactly like it smells and the name.  I was very pleased.  I know this is more of a fall flavor, but the flavors are so bright and crisp, I’ll be drinking this one all the time.  The only down side is that it is pricey if you go through the website.  Amazon seemed to have cheaper prices so I’ll have to stock up here and there when I see a sale.

After looking at the site some more, I noticed that this is a tea you are supposed to use to make a cocktail.  This would be amazing made up like a martini or add in some flavored vodka.

I know what I’ll be drinking later tonight.
