Tasters Review:
Sure…it says if you LOVE Lemon Cake, Lemon Frosting, Lemon Pie, Lemon Cookies, etc…this tea is for you – BUT – I must say – as a general rule of thumb I’m a fan of almost everything Lemon. So I was delighted to try this tisane.
The post-infused liquid smelled like sweet lemony cream. It’s a very lovely aroma. The color is a reddish-brown that is medium in color.
I’m pretty excited Della Terra decided to use a blend of both Honeybush AND Rooibos and not just one of the two. The Lemon-Cream flavor combo is perfect for this! I also appreciate the REAL Lemon pieces within the mix! The ingredient ratio they used for this flavor is just where my palate wants it to be. It’s sweet and smooth! It’s creamy and has a mouth-watering (without being puckery) lemon flavor.
I think this is just GRAND!
Vanilla Bean Honeybush from California Tea House
Leaf Type: Honeybush
Where to Buy: California Tea House
Tisane Description:
Honeybush is made from the Cyclopia sessiliflora plant from the mountains of the South African Cape. It is very similar to Rooibos in taste and health aspects, yet it is naturally a little more sweet. We took the highest grade Honeybush and blended in vanilla bean pieces and marigold petals to create our naturally caffeine-free Vanilla Bean Honeybush.

Taster’s Review:
This tisane brings back memories! Back when I flavored and blended teas, I had a delicious organic vanilla honeybush, and this tastes quite a bit like that one did. The naturally sweet, nutty flavor of the honeybush seems to marry very well with the creamy tones of vanilla. The result is a sweet, smooth cup that is delicious any time of day.
While I am enjoying this (and it is good hot or iced!) I think it would be even better with a bit more vanilla flavor. As it is, it has a pleasing vanilla note, but, I think that a little more vanilla would help to tone down the slightly sour wood note that I taste toward mid-sip. It isn’t what I’d call “off-putting” but, I think it would taste better without it. In addition, I think that the additional vanilla flavor would give it a little more body, and I’m finding this cup to be a wee bit on the thin side.
Overall, though, this is enjoyable. Makes a sweet, cozy cup to enjoy later in the evening when you might want something a little on the sweet side, this can help curb those cravings. A nice, relaxing cup.

Taster’s Review:
This is one that I’ve really been looking forward to. I love maple bars, and while I’m sure that I’ve had a custard-filled maple long john before, it hasn’t been recently. Maple bars are easy to find, I usually find them in my grocery store bakery. But custard-filled maple long johns, are not quite so easy to find unless I happen to visit an actual donut shop, and I try to avoid those, as I cannot resist temptation when it’s right there in front of me, you know what I mean?
But, a Custard-Filled Maple Long John flavored tisane is another thing altogether. This will – I hope! – allow me to enjoy the flavor of one those “irresistible temptations” without feeling guilty. Which is why I had been so looking forward to trying this!
Mmm! This is really yummy. My first couple of sips – while it was still quite hot – were a bit more like a “deconstructed” custard-filled maple long john more than the entirety of the treat: I could taste each flavor but they didn’t really come together as seamlessly as I would have liked. But after allowing this to cool for a few minutes (about five minutes or so … it’s still hot but not steaming hot) I notice the flavors start to come together in a lip-smacking, delicious way.
THIS TASTES LIKE A CUSTARD-FILLED MAPLE LONG JOHN!
Frank, you did it again. This is absolutely amazing. Of course, I guess anyone COULD create this flavor. All they’d need to do is drop a custard-filled maple long john into a blender, add some brewed honeybush and blend it until it’s completely liquid. But then, why go through all that trouble (and mess), when you can just as easily brew a cup of this for that same goodness!

Taster’s Review:
This tisane smells so good – like my gramma’s apple pie!
The taste is a bit more like the name of the tisane suggests: Apple Crumble. This tastes quite a bit like an apple cobbler or apple crumble. There’s even a creamy vanilla flavor to this cup to make it a bit like apple crumble a la mode. YUM!
The apple flavor is strong, sweet, and it tastes true to the fruit. It doesn’t taste like a fresh apple, instead, it tastes more like a caramelized baked apple with a sprinkling of cinnamon and brown sugar.
The honeybush is the perfect base for this tisane, because it has a natural nutty flavor and sweet, honey-esque tone which plays well to the pastry aspect of the crumble.
Overall, this is a delicious, dessert-y tisane. It is naturally caffeine free, so, it makes a great late-night snack when you’re craving something sweet but don’t want to eat something heavy and calorie-laden. This tastes indulgent without the guilt!

Taster’s Review:
Oh, goodness! This is yummy!
The honeybush is the perfect base for this blend, it has a slightly nutty, honey-sweet taste that translates very well into the concept of a scone. And together with the buttery flavoring that 52Teas does so well, this becomes a deliciously decadent tea-time treat all on its own.
The fruit flavors evoke thoughts of autumn (and since I love autumn, I don’t mind that a bit). The orange is sweet and tastes just like the fruit: fresh and juicy! The cranberry adds a tart note to the cup, and while tart/sour tastes are not always my thing, I think that the tartness is needed here, because it provides some wonderful contrast to the cup.
I like the way the flavors play together here. With one sip, I taste a little more orange, and then the next, I taste more cranberry. Sometimes the two fruit flavors are evenly matched and it’s the buttery taste that I notice. It’s very much like it might be if I were eating an actual cranberry orange scone – with my first bite, I might bite into a cranberry, with the next, I might taste more orange, and then in the next, I taste the rich, baked goodness of the scone.
Another delicious flavor adventure – courtesy of 52Teas!
