With a name like Cease & Desist, I knew this tea had to have a good story. And with a company like 52 Teas? I knew it had to be a good tea!
Apparently, this tea was originally named after a favorite alcoholic horchata-esque treat (that rhymes with Thumb-chata), but after being served with a cease & desist letter, the name had to be changed. Lo and behold! We’re left with this tasty, cheekily-named delightful genmaicha.
First things first: this tea is a treat to brew. Big green leaves and toasty popped rice, it was ever-so-fragrant– my mouth was watering on the smell alone. I’ll admit I took a sip of it straight and while it was tasty, I knew a bit of cream + sweet could really take it to that next, crumb-chata level of deliciousness. Sure enough, a touch of coconut milk + maple syrup and I couldn’t slurp up this sweet, cinnamon-y treat quickly enough. My only note is that this one didn’t quite hit on the alcoholic horchata notes for me as much as it did straight-up milk-of-Cinnamon Toast Crunch. (Or in keeping with brand-name avoidance: Flinnamon Boast Lunch. Maybe?)
I’d wager that this is even better than its original intention– the flavors were spot on breakfast cereal for me, and I loved every second of it. I think this probably has something to do with the addition of the toasty popped rice making it a genmaicha that really pushed those cereal-y notes over the top.
Fun flavors and a touch of anti-establishmentarianism? Count me in.

You can’t go wrong with a smooth & full Sencha green tea with refreshing & invigorating peppermint…can you? I don’t think so! It’s been a while since I had a nice Sencha Minty Tea! This Sencha Mint from The Cozy Leaf is what’s in my cup as of late! And it’s putting a smile on my face!
It’s an artisan loose leaf tea that is organic and hand blended! It’s the tea trifecta, folks!
The Sencha itself is smooth yet full. It’s fresh and really stands up to any of the better and best Sencha’s I’ve tried. Pair that with a gentle mint and we have a REAL WINNER!
Because I’m a HUGE mint fan I would welcome more of a punch you in the face type of mint here but I also appreciate a more gentle mint from time to time, too! Just as people don’t always scream – sometimes they whisper…tea’s don’t always have to smack you in the face…sometimes they give you a gentle hug and are comfort in a cup, right!?
Yum! This is one for the books! And one I hope stays in my personal stash for a while because I will truly miss it when it’s gone!

Nutty Healthy Butter Pecan Tea Hand Crafted by BlendBee. . .Pecan Assam
This blend is interesting…and healthy! I like healthy teas, who doesn’t? The product description says that it includes black tea, milk thistle seed, dandelion root, eleuthero root, and butter pecan flavor. I was really curious about what all these healthy ingredients do and what they would taste like. Apparently, milk thistle seed is mild and nutty and detoxes, dandelion root is earthy and nutty and also is good for detoxing, and eleuthero root is mild and sweet and is good for detoxification as well. My assessment: this tea is great if you’re looking to detox and also seems to be a good source of energy.
Smelling the dry leaf, I could definitely smell the nuttiness from the herbs and flavoring. Smelling the brewed liquid, marzipan came to mind. I am going to attribute that to butter pecan flavoring. I would describe this tea as woodsy, nutty, light, sweet, and buttery. I think it definitely embraced butter pecan flavor, but also added to it with the sweet and nutty flavors of the herbs.
It’s really interesting because healthy teas do not generally taste good. Oftentimes they taste quite medicinal and you kind of have to gulp them down and then move on. With this blend, I actually enjoyed drinking it. The sweet, nutty, and buttery flavors reminded me of butter pecan ice cream with a hint of woodsy herbs. I definitely recommend this blend whether you are looking for a healthy concoction to drink or not. If you are looking for a detox tea, this is definitely one of the better tasting options for sure. But, if you just want something yummy to give you a boost of energy, this tea with deliver.

Boxty With Honey Soom Darjeeling from A Quarter To Tea. . . .
Dag nabbit! I tried this Irish-themed tea too late for Saint Patrick’s day! That is so disappointing! I love a theme!
Unlike my timing, this tea is NOT a disappointment. It’s a potato pancake flavored Darjeeling with vanilla and honey. Sounds cool, right?
In my home, we call potato pancakes “latkes,” but I doubt that’s what the Irish call it. My brother dumps cheese and salt into his latkes — but it appears that the Irish take a sweeter route.
This flavor tends more toward butter and cream. It’s very sweet, smooth on the tongue. It also has a robust Irish darjeeling base keeping it on track.
It feels like a liquefied hangover-breakfast. You’ve got the tough tea with your fried carbs to re-fuel your body. (The fried carbs, in this story, are obviously made by someone else. Someone who made better decisions than you did last night.)
Judging by how sweet and yummy this tea is, if it were me (and I’ve been there), I’d dive right in to such a meal. I’d eat it until there was nothing left and whine for more.
Maybe THIS is what’s at the end of a leprechaun’s rainbow!
