Right off the bat I will tell you that I’m impressed with Just Peachy from Blend Bee for 2 reasons…one…the aroma…it’s wonderful and…two…because it’s a green tea and Honeybush blend that works really well!
The notable ingredients in Just Peachy from Blend Bee include not only green tea and honeybush but ginger and cinnamon which are both fairly strong – as well as – lemon peel and peach flavor. It’s flavor on the tongue is comparable to other Ginger Peach teas I have tried in the past but seemed a bit more refined in some way. Maybe it was the subtle addition of the lemon or maybe it was the sweet and green contrast of the green tea and honeybush. Whatever it was it worked!
If Just Peachy from Blend Bee is any indication of how awesome their other teas will be (or are) then I am sure to be hooked on them soon!

I will admit. . from the beginning, I thought this tea sounded unpleasant. I was fully expecting not to like it just from past experiences with ginseng and ginger root in tea. Those just are not my favorite components so I just had it in my head this wasn’t a tea for me. It sat in my tea stash for a while and the other day, I finally decided it was time to check it out.
Shame on me for judging a tea by its ingredients!
This tea blew me away! It was light, refreshing, soothing, and tasted fantastic! There was a hint of a herbal note to it but really what this tea tasted like was a semi-sweet green tea with a very subtle warming kick of spice. A wonderful way to either start your day, end your day, or an afternoon treat. I was literally sad when I realized the bag was empty. Good thing I have an email in to Geeky Teas about a few teas I’m interested in. Because this one needs to be on the reorder list!
Brewed like a green tea, this tea was just a wonderfully subtle way to enjoy a spiced tea without having an overwhelming amount of spice. I love how the spices were added in carefully without overdoing it yet you still get that nice kick and warmth. A gorgeous take on a slightly grassy yet buttery green tea with a kick. Another wonderful Geeky Teas offering! And who wouldn’t love a tea created for Groot!
Dark Forest from The Jasmine Pearl Tea

Taster’s Review:
I have loved every tea that I have tried from The Jasmine Pearl Tea Company. Their teas are delicious and just knock your socks off sort of fantastic. This particular blend I am trying is their Dark Forest Herbal Tea. Now the description from what the tea consists of online and what I have in hand is different so I think they may have changed up the formula. The blend I have consists of chamomile, ginger, eucalyptus, lemon myrtle, and peppermint.
To begin with, I am not a huge ginger fan. I do like it on occasion but it isn’t my favorite. I know ginger is great for the body so I will drink ginger teas and even enjoy it in food every once in a while, but I do not go searching for it.
So let’s talk about the journey it was to actually drink this tea. First off, I dropped the bag and half of the contents fell out. Ugh. I boiled the water and forgot about it. Boo. And I measured way too water for my new Doctor Who mug and I had tea all over my desk (I used a gravitea steeper). Yep. It seemed like this tea was doomed from the start. By the time I was able to take a drink of this tea I was ready!
The dry leaf reminded me of a sweet pumpkin spice bar. The mixture just smelled heavenly. I prepped my water and allowed the tea to steep for about 5 minutes. And I would recommend that being the time you allow the tea to steep if aren’t a fan of ginger like me. I have a feeling any long than that and the ginger would overtake the tea.
My first sip of this tea and I was surprised and how lovely it was. I was afraid the ginger would overpower and leave the rest of the flavors behind but that wasn’t the case at all. Each flavor was noticeable at different times and mingled together so nicely. The ginger was light but there to spice the tea up, the lemon myrtle provided a bit of that citrus undertone, the chamomile was giving the tea a familiar herbal feel to it and the peppermint gave the tea a fresh flavor. Really well done. Who would have thought those ingredients would make such a lovely herbal?
As delicious as this was, the new upgraded blend sounds just as good! I’m going to have to try that one soon!

AstroloTea is one of my favorite tea shops. The care and love that is put into each blend is just amazing. Pamela is beyond creative and passionate about the teas she concocts. I’ve reviewed several of her teas for both CuppaGeek and SororiTea Sisters.
This particular blend is one that is supposed to help those with sinus and allergy issues. Pamela recommended it to me on one of my blog posts and while I was going thru my tea stash I saw that I actually had some.
The Pollenator smells amazing! The dry leaf has this wonderful soothing and warming cinnamon spice note. One of those smells that you want to bottle into a candle. I brewed the tea up with fresh boiling water and allowed the blend to steep for a few minutes. I adore the Assam blends that Pamela creates and the Assam base she uses.
Once the tea was ready to steep, I sat down to enjoy my tea. First sip in and I was greeted with this soft and mellow silky like cinnamon flavor that is smoothed over by an Assam base. The next flavor I noticed was the ginger. Now I’m very hit or miss with the ginger and unfortunately, I could have done without the ginger in this mix. The rest of the flavors just blend so well, but for some reason the ginger flavoring just stood out to me like a sore thumb. Not terrible and I easily sipped on this cuppa and made myself another pot later. It was just the one flavor I noted that I could have done without, but that is normally how I feel about ginger anyway.
This blend is one of the better blends I’ve tried for fighting stubborn allergies and sinuses. One that I would recommend!
Ginger Beer Tisane from DAVIDsTEA

Taster’s Review:
Last week I stopped at DAVIDTEA after work around when I was starting to get sick/just realizing I was sick and I picked up some tea to drink later and grabbed a hot “To Go” cup of this as well. I picked it out because it’s the new Tea of The Month but I realized much later it was actually probably a good choice because of the ginger as well since that’s a good thing to drink when you are sick.
I was a little taken aback! I’m honestly not the biggest fan of Ginger Beer. Every time I’ve tried it it’s just been a little too concentrated and spicy for my liking. And actually, I’m also just not a huge fan of ginger in general. However, that said, I actually found this pretty enjoyable. It’s not like it didn’t taste like Ginger Beer either; the ‘zippyness’ and almost ‘bubbly’ ginger flavour was accurate to my memory of Ginger Beer and very well captured the spirit of the drink. This was just much lighter overall and didn’t have that ginger burn that comes with too concentrated ginger. I dislike that sensation so much. Instead it was more of a mild ‘tingle’.
Of course, ginger isn’t the only flavour going on in this blend. I also tasted notes of honey and apple, both of which were quite nice and provided a sweet juxtaposition from the ginger. However, the most interesting flavour I tasted was lime!? I’m not sure where that’s coming from at all because there are no ingredients that should be contributing that flavour however it’s definitely something I tasted, and I quite liked it. Maybe it’s because I was slightly sick and my sense of taste may have been a little off. I’m not sure.
Overall? I wouldn’t buy this again but I liked it and for me that’s more of a ‘win’ than I ever expected with this blend. If I did drink it again, it would probably only be to see if I could taste the lime again when I’m not sick.
