Ahem.
Her name was Lola… she was an herbal tea…
(Wait. Those are totally the wrong lyrics.)
Okay, so we’re not in the Copacabana. But I definitely get that song stuck in my head every time I brew up a pot of this tisane. And why not? It’s sweet, a little sassy, a little spicy– just like any good Lola should be. The licorice in this one plays my favorite trick, eliminating any need for sweeteners, and it balances beautifully with the cinnamon and rooibos.
I wish I could taste the lavender more in this one, but sadly, this Lola just isn’t a very flowery gal. All that aside, this is a lovely herbal when you’re feeling something cozy and comforting with just an hint of oomph.
Barry Manilow would be proud.

Lola from Sicilian Tea Company. . . . .
Lola from Sicilian Tea Company. I can’t say it’s my FAVORITE tisane but what I can tell you is that I was pleasantly surprised by the aftertaste and I’m glad I was able to have a cup for that sole purpose. I know I am working a little bit backwards here but let me tell you why…
The ingredients in Lola from Sicilian Tea Company are Red Rooibos, Cinnamon, Licorice, and Lavender. I sometimes find companies are overusing red Rooibos the last few years in often mediocre flavor combinations which leave the flavor unmemorable or just don’t seem to jive with my own personal palate. When I saw the additional ingredients within this Rooibos I thought I would give it a try – although – I’m not overly fond of licorice in teas or tisanes – and seem to be hot and cold when it comes to the use of Lavender in tisanes and teas, too!
Having said that…this tea was alright. While it wasn’t my most favorite or favorites upfront while sipping it – my delight was more in the aftertaste and the linger of it all.
All of the ingredients were blended well in this offering. Nothing was too over powering and especially when it came to the Licorice and Lavender I was thrilled that it wasn’t.
The aftertaste is what caught my attention. It lingered nicely. The cinnamon was warming – as was the Licorice. The Licorice offered a subtle sweetness but it didn’t give off a weird aftertaste either. The Lavender seemed to smooth it out and hinted at a bit of floral goodness.
I found this to be very good after a meal or as a treat in the evening! Because Sicilian Tea Company had a winner with this ballsy flavor combo I’m interested in trying more of their offerings! Kudos!

Night Time Tea from Harlow Tea Co. . . . Getting Your ZZZ’s in 2017!
What do Red Rooibos, Orange Peel, Lemongrass, Suma Root, Peppermint, Anise, and Hawthorn Berries have in common? They are all IN Night Time Tea from Harlow Tea Co. that’s what!
And before we get to the aroma and flavor of this Rooibos based tisane perhaps you are wondering what Suma Root is? In case you are interested in different roots, herbs, seeds, etc like I am you might be surprised that Suma Root has many things to offer us!
After doing some research I found that the natives of South America would consume Suma Root daily to increase their physical strength, energy, and stamina. Suma Root promotes balance of the hormones and strengthens the adrenal glands and is a powerful immune system booster. Many people use Suma Root today to treat skin problems, diabetes, tumors, and the symptoms of menopause. Of course I have to state that I am not making any claims for this product but I am just telling you I found this information interesting about this powerful root.
Now on to the aroma and flavor of Night Time Tea from Harlow Tea Co. It is certainly minty-fresh which I LOVE and ADORE but it also has a subtle spice that I am chalking up to the Anise Seed. The sweetness comes from the Red Rooibos and the Lemongrass is always a nice touch. The Hawthorn Berries don’t overly contribute to the overall flavor of this Night Time Tea from Harlow Tea Co much but the ingredient still makes sense and follows suit to the detoxifying theme this herbal seems to stand for. The orange peel is identifiable upfront but mellows out quickly because of the lingering mint and I’m ok with that.
It’s rare if I choose an herbal tisane to be my favorite from a tea company that also sells straight-up teas but I have to say this is among my favorites that I have tried from Harlow Tea Co. so far. Night Time Tea from Harlow Tea Co. might just become a staple in my unwinding process.

Taster’s Review:
I love chamomile teas. I drink a lot of them too. At night there really isn’t anything more soothing than to drink a nice glass of chamomile tea, relieving the stress of your day.
I picked up a couple teas from this adorable shop on Etsy. This was the second one I’ve reviewed for SororiTea Sisters and this one I am extremely pleased with. This tea originally has lavender in it. I have yet to find a lavender tea that I really like. So I emailed the owner and she was able to remove that from the blend. Score one for Customer Service!
I first had this one hot the other night with my boyfriend. We liked it, but it honestly tasted like a lot of chamomile teas. The chamomile really took over. The rest of the flavors just played to the side a bit and created a nice pleasing quality to it. Overall I did like it, but I can’t say it would stand out among other chamomile herbal teas.
So I dropped the tin in my work backpack and figured I’d try it at work. This is where the tea that was the wallflower tea really stood out to me! Iced this is fantastic! It tastes like a sweet lemon dessert with hints of mint. There is also a creaminess to it. I am loving it. I think iced is the one to go with this one. I recommend this one for a tasty afternoon treat or even in the morning if you are going caffeine free. Glad I ordered two tins of this!

Tasters Review:
Over the past week or two I have been REALLY pushing the envelop – I have been purposely forcing myself to taste teas that I usually don’t go for. Many of them have had Chamomile and/or Hibiscus.
I’m not too fond of Chamomile unless the other ingredients impress me! With this specific herbal from TeaScapes – the name and the look of the ingredients blended together is what interested me. It just seemed different. I had also been very pleased with the other TeaScapes Teas I have tried lately so I thought this one would give me something to write about either way!
The little bit of cinnamon that is coming thru is a nice touch and helps calm down the intense chamomile. Sure, the chamomile is still present but not as much as I thought it would be. The strawberry notes are barely there and I would LOVE to taste a little bit more but understand their reasoning for this…it’s not supposed to be about the strawberry! The rose somewhat works hand-in-hand with the chamomile to bring that floral bouquet type taste.
This is a nice twist on Chamomile and for that I do enjoy this herbal from TeaScapes!
It’s not my preference in flavor combos but a good calming and floral mix that certainly surprised me! This is pretty good, indeed!
