I’ve been pretty lucky when it comes to ‘female’ problems if you know what I mean. I don’t usually suffer from many ‘issues’ once a month like many other females I know. I’m grateful for that. However, not-too-long ago I wasn’t quite myself for about a week. I chalked it up as one of those times. You know…one of THOSE times.
That’s when I grabbed Get Out Of My Way from Oh You Tea’se. Get Out Of My Way flavored black tea from Oh You Tea’se is for the times you want to scream “Get Out of My Way” at the top of your lungs, but can’t – you can sip this instead. This contains raspberry leaves and chamomile which are two of Mother Nature’s natural PMS symptom fighters. Pair those two with a black tea base and I was totally GAME!
I will say that it tasted like an herbal tea and a black tea joined hands and invited me to slurp on it. That’s exactly what I did. It was a satisfying herbal flavored black tea but more importantly it seemed to help get me out of the FUNK I was in. So I guess that means…MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, eh?
This tea couldn’t have come at a better time!

Pretty In Pink from Paper Box Goodies. . . . .
WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSE OF FEMININITY!
This tea is — to start off — super-pink. It’s got that awesome magenta that only shows up when hibiscus is in play. Then, when you sip, it’s extremely sweet. It’s loaded with strawberries, hibiscus, and delicious Darjeeling. Which — as you know — means caffeine. My favorite vice.
I drank the first half hot, which was like being embraced in dark pink satin sheets. A smoldering, you-go-girl type of experience.
Then I decided to try it iced, so I threw ice cubes in the remaining half of the tea to give it a whirl. And I’m SO GLAD that I did, because that totally makes the berries and sweetness up to 11. Iced is absolutely how I’d recommend this blend.
I can imagine serving this as an iced tea at a bridal or baby shower. It’s feminine, but in a three-dimensional, interesting way. And that sweet pink-ness is not to be denied.

Winter Spice Tea from Sunshine Cottage. . . .
YUM! I literally said that out loud the first time I sipped on Winter Spice Tea from Sunshine Cottage. My second reaction was the same as the first…YUM!
Upon opening the package I was assuming this would be comparable to a chai but it was much more thought out than that.
Orange, cranberry, cinnamon and cloves all add flavor to this finger warming, nose thawing winter spice blend are Joan’s words – from Sunshine Cottage – not mine but I would totally claim them as my own if I could because I totally agree with them!
Sunshine Cottage states on their Etsy Shop that Winter Spice Tea is full of all the delights of the season, hold a steaming cup of this tea, breath in deeply and relax, you’ll be filled with the spirit of the season – of course, adding a big splash of brandy or rum to your cup will lift your spirits even quicker!
I’ll have to ask Sororitea Sister-CuppaGeek- if she has tried this yet! I know she went thru a phase of mixing tea with ‘adult beverages’ for an extra special tea steeping experience!
Regardless I am totally LOVING this straight-up…as-is…I wouldn’t change a thing!
Sure – you can taste the Cinnamon up against the medium strength black tea base and it’s scrumptious and warming. But the real gems of this blend of flavors are the cranberry and orange duo! Both are FAB!
Even tho this is a Winter Spice Tea – I wouldn’t mind it any time of the year! The flavor and aroma are wonderful! I’m a fan, indeedy!

Ganymede Matcha Tea Blend by MoongleamTeaShoppe
Hello Tea Friends!
My head is spinning at the idea of a Matcha, cocoa, mint, and orange peel combination and it’s something I have no idea of what to expect. Frankly that is why I chose this blend to try, not only is it original but it’s also from a small Etsy store and I love to give smaller businesses a chance.
So lets have a look at the tea. what can I say?…It’s medium sized pieces of what I assume is cocoa and orange peel covered in a green Matcha dust with a few rough looking chopped leaves. It looks as adventurous as it sounds. Scent wise it smells chocolatey yet dry.
I think I will steep this at roughly 75C (on the milder side) and hope that the Matcha doesn’t become too astringent. But I still want to get the best out of the other ingredients so I don’t want to go too mild. Steeping time will also be a fairly quick 20 seconds. This is going in completely blind on a guess, I imagine it’s one of those teas you have to try and alter to taste and experiment with. But for now those are my parameter choices.
As soon as the water goes in the mint fills my nostrils and bursts through the cocoa. The colour is dark green and cloudy (thank you Matcha) and it bares a strong mint chocolate scent. It looks like used paint water but looks can be deceiving.
Okay so the first sip reveals bitter mint with some sweetness and some creamy cocoa behind it, leading to a dry yet refreshing after taste. The astringency is from the Matcha I think but it quickly fades into a creamy undertone before finishing with softer mint.It’s actually so rich it’s more like a black tea base than green. The orange is lost on me though.
A second steep with the same parameters reveals: less bitterness making it creamier and sweeter, the mint still being forefront. This is more like a traditional mint green tea with a touch of cocoa. Still dry but so easy to drink.
Think of it as a mint chocolate tea with some Matcha goodness thrown in for good measure. A strange combination but it actually makes a nice change to try something so different. My husband said it’s like a chocolate ice lolly that has melted a bit.
So unusual but nice, worth the try and I am happy to have tried a sample. If you’re looking for something different then it’s definitely worth a try.

Mango Peach from Gypsy Soul Tea . . . .
Most fruity herbal tisanes are either too sweet for me, uninteresting when it comes to the flavor combos, and/or incorporate way too much tarty hibiscus for my liking. But I have to give credit where credit it due. Mango Peach from Gypsy Soul Tea – a lovely Etsy Shop – you will have to check out! It was completely up my alley!
Ingredients in this fruity herbal include: apple, hibiscus, pineapple, peach, papaya, and lemon peel. The apple and peach seemed to pair up, the pineapple and papaya are no stranger to flavor pairings, and the lemon really added that extra something to this fruity cuppa. The hibiscus was there but not overpowering – thankfully! When it came to the aftertaste it seemed like everything came full circle, too, because the apple and the lemon rounded everything out at the end.
I didn’t see that there were actual mango pieces in the loose mixture of ingredients nor did I see mango in the list of ingredients BUT the mango could just be the additional natural flavor(ings) that the product description nodded at and I’m ok with that because this was a flavorful, fruity, cup! It was pretty good hot but even better cold! It was sweet enough the way it was but also had those stereotypical tropical fruit flavors, too, so it seemed to take me to a different time and place…more specifically a warm, sunny island instead of the wintery-cold mess I’m currently stuck in where I live which is one of the snowbelts of the US.
