Taster’s Review:

This may be my favorite offering yet from Paper Box Goodies.  I have recently discovered butterfly pea flower teas.  Not only are they sweet with slight floral notes, they turn the water blue.  Bright blue! So fun!

Leslie @Paper Box Goodies created a beautiful slightly floral tea with hints of sweetness and a touch of lemon.  Such a delicate tea and one that I’m really enjoying.

If you have read my reviews of Paper Box Goodies’s tea, you have already read about Leslie @ Paper Box Goodies’s attention to detail and how it isn’t wasted on me.  Each tea bag has a hand written note on gorgeous paper that gives you the skinny on the tea and her recommendations for steeping it.  Along with each tag is an adorable shrinky dink that she has created.  I have yet to thrown one of those adorable shrinky dinks away.  I’m saving them for a craft project! Her tea bags have completely impressed me and they are becoming a staple in my cupboard.

The tea bags that Leslie uses for her tea allow the tea drinker to see the ingredients in the tea.  Her tea bags turn clear as soon as you submerge them in the water.  So when I prepped this tea up with water at 212F, the bag became clear and I was able to see the beautiful assortment of ingredients and yes. . my water turned blue!!

I did let this cool for a moment and took my first sip.  Sweet with a soft delicate lemon background and notes of floral singing in the background.  Perfect.  Simple yet providing you with vibrant flavors and an invigorating tea.  This tea would be perfect for tea enthusiasts that may not think they like floral teas or for someone trying floral teas for the first time.  The floral notes are so subtle but lend themselves to such a sweetness. I have now tried this tea both as a hot tea and an iced tea.  The results were amazing both ways.

Another fantastic tea Leslie! I would love to see a tea like this served at a tea party.  I could see this tea wowing the participants! Leslie-Keep up the good work!

Taster’s Review:

This tea is one of the more popular blends according to Kathy @Three Teas.  I couldn’t wait to try it.  I do love my green teas and even tho Earl Grey flavoring sometimes is overwhelming to me, I was excited to try this one.

I prepped this one up per the instructions on the package- 2 tsps-185F-3 minutes.  The result was a very pleasant yellowish green liquid in my teacup.  The fragrance emitting from the cup was very bergamot oil like.  Almost overwhelmingly so.

Took my first sip and yes this is definitely a tea for the Earl Grey fans out there.  They bergamot is alive and well in this tea.  The green tea creates a very nice smooth buttery base (but very subtle) and the bergamot oil flavor is quite strong.

Unfortunately the bergamot was just too strong for me.  I think if there was some straight orange flavoring added in or maybe even some vanilla bean, this tea would take on a completely different profile making it pop.  I just picked up some vanilla bean so I might try that later.

Regardless, I’m really enjoying this green tea base.  I almost wish I could try that by itself without the bergamot oil.  This may just be one of those teas that need a little help to boost the flavor or maybe I should find it a new home.  I’m still glad I was able to try it!

Taster’s Review:

I love my herbal teas.  I drink them all times of the day.  I actually tend to drink them more in the afternoon than I do at night.  I was so excited when I found Brew Mama Herbalism’s Etsy Store. The first blend I tried, Morning Motivator was just amazing. So I had high expectations when it comes to any blends from Brew Mama Herbalism.

I decided to go with Dream today.  It has been a crazy day at work today for some reason so I thought I nice soothing tea may just help calm my nerves a bit.  I also plan on finishing my latest book in the Aunt Dimity’s series  – Aunt Dimity and the Summer King.  These novels are cozy and charming and need a tea that fits that bill to truly enjoy the experience.

I steeped this one up like a traditional herbal-212F-4 minutes.  I started to get a bit worried when I noticed the lavender in this blend.  I’m typically not a lavender fan.  All the ingredients mingled together so well and produced a quite lovely fragrance for me to enjoy while this steeped.

Took my first sip after letting this cool for a few minutes and this tea really hit the spot.  This herbal blend is cooling and soothing with a light floral touch.  I love how very delicate this tea is.  Add in some white tea and this would be a beautiful delicate refreshing relaxing tea with a simple floral finish.   Something I am going to try later.

The ingredients really did play together well as they steeped.  The mint is probably the most noticeable flavor with the chamomile coming in close second.  Both crisp and fresh flavors.  The passion flower and lavender added in touches of floral but they didn’t overwhelm the cup at all.  Such a great herbal.  I tried this both hot and cold brewed and I feel like this tea should be brewed hot.  The cold brew brought more of the floral notes out which created an almost bite towards the end of the sip.

Just a beautiful herbal from start to finish and can definitely put you in a dream state.

Taster’s Review:

This tea is just delicious.

The malty goodness and rich well balanced flavor of this fantastic unflavored blended black tea is just perfect.  Perfect for that first cup of tea to wake you up in the morning or in the afternoon when you need a pick up to get you thru the rest of the day.  I really enjoyed this one.

First infusion was strong and rich.  Brewed up like a traditional black tea, this tea was such a delight.  I didn’t pick up any smoky notes like the description says, but I am fine with that.  I have had a lot of smoky teas lately and was happy for a break. Second infusion, the strong malty touch was still there.  Not as strong, but still discernible.

I have yet to have a tea from AmiTea Organics that I haven’t just adored.

I didn’t try this one iced.  Next time I will.  I would love to try this as an iced tea.  I couldn’t help but keep brewing this up hot.  It was hitting the spot, giving me that warm and cozy feeling.

The best part of this tea was how there wasn’t a high astringency factor.  I thought for sure there would be, but this was just smooth black tea deliciousness.

Another winner from AmiTea Organics!

Taster’s Review:

When I saw this on Etsy, I just had to try it.  An oolong flavored Vanilla Spiced Pear.  EEK! This one just had to be mine.  So I picked this one up and a few other samples.  I was very excited when this package showed up yesterday.

As soon as I hit the office this morning, I brewed this delight up.  This smells fantastic.  Think Vanilla Pear Candle with hints of Cloves and Cardamom.  The cardamom is what I pick up the most.

So did the smell translate into the flavor? Oh momma. . did it.  This is like a guilty pleasure.  This is too good.  All of the flavors are there.  Vanilla, Pear, Cloves, Cardamom. . .and the best part.  . you can completely pick up the oolong flavor so there is a bit of a vegetal finish to this.  Sounds odd, but this tea really works.  The flavor that does stand front and center is the cardamom but that could be just because I didn’t shake up the bag enough. All I have to add to the flavor of this tea is this tea is absolutely exquisite!

As wonderful as this tea is to drink, this tea is beautiful.  There are huge chunks of pear, whole cloves, and whole cardamoms in the blend.  You can tell this tea has been blended with care.  I can’t wait to take this one home and try it as a latte.

The only bad part of this tea, is that the shipping is more than the tea itself.  For a 10 cup mini the price is $5.59 but the shipping is almost $9.  I know shipping is a big cost for companies and completely understand.  Urban Earth Teas is located in Canada (I am located in the states).

So before taking the dive and ordering the 10 cup minis, I would suggest gandering thru the site and picking up a few samples first.  I don’t think you’ll regret it!

(Edit:  Second infusion was just smooth Vanilla Pear with very slight hints of the spices.  Yum!)
