Taster’s Review:

It has been a rough day so I wanted something soothing. Something warm, something soothing, something that made you just want to cozy up with a book and escape for a while. So I brewed up this tea. Everything about it screamed good for the soul.

If you aren’t familiar with The Jasmine Pearl, take a moment and check them out. I have liked just about every tea I’ve tried from them and these teas are memorable.

The dry leaf mix of this tea had such a lovely subtle smooth sweet yet slightly floral note to them.  I was hoping this flavor would translate into the flavor.

And wow! Did it ever! This tea is simply amazing! A light refreshing soul soothing tea with distinct white tea notes, a sweet vanilla pillow enveloping a citrus note that is reminiscent of a stone fruit. I would say either peach but I get apricot notes as well.  This tea is soft and loving. Really really really good! I bet this tea would make a dynamite iced tea or a cold brew. Something I hope to be able to try in the future.

Another highly recommended tea from The Jasmine Pearl. I have a feeling I will need 2 oz of this tea fast! I’m off to snuggle up with my book and enjoy the rest of the evening!

Taster’s Review:

I have always wanted to try Blend Bee Teas and thankfully the last box I received from Amoda Tea had Blend Bee Teas in it.

If you aren’t familiar with them, Amoda Tea is a monthly subscription service.  Each month you receive a sampling of teas from one company, showcasing their teas and allowing you the chance to try teas that you might not have tried.  I just love that concept. Other boxes send you a mix of different teas from different companies but the way Amoda Tea works, you get a nice sampling of what that particular company offers. Pretty great concept!

This blend from Blend Bee is an Oolong/Herbal mix that sounds amazing. All of the ingredients just sounded fantastic and the dry leaf mix smelled gorgeous.  I brewed this blend up with the parameters that were on the package and took my first sip.

As gorgeous as this tea smelled, I have to be honest and say I didn’t really care for the taste. There was something off with the tea that I can’t place my finger on. I’m wondering if its the ashwagandha root. All of the other flavors mix well together and from what I can tell would make a glorious tea on their own. The are strong notes of lemon and strawberry.  Those two flavors with the oolong note were heavenly.

I would love to try this tea without the ashwagandha root. Regardless, I’m still very excited to be given the change to check this tea and company out. I’m already on the website of both Amoda Tea and Blend Bee to see what looks interesting!

Black Currant White Peony from 52Teas

52teas3_1430856114__73092Tea Information:

Leaf Type:  White

Where to Buy: 52Teas

Tea Description:

This tea is really tasty. The white tea is soft and smooth. It has a delicate, sweet flavor and it offers an interesting contrast to the tart and tangy flavor of black currant.

It’s a fairly simple blend – just white tea and black currants – but it tastes great!

Taster’s Review:

I have been on a 52Teas kick lately.  I can’t help it! I love the unique variety of flavors they have and offer. I am currently staring at my maple Cheesecake TieGuan Yin and wondering if I should splurge and dive into it or wait for another time.

Today I was more in the mood for a white tea so I went with 52Teas Black Currant White Peony, a tea where the dry leaf has  has a very similar smell somewhat mulled red wine.  I prepped this one at work so I thought I’d share a cuppa with my co-worker. She couldn’t wait to try it.

I prepped this up per the instructions on the package (water at 170F & steep for about 3 1/2 minutes) and I poured us a couple mug fulls.  We both instantly remarked at how that mulled wine aroma was still there with the brew and how delicious it smelled.

We took our first sips and wow our eyes lit up. This is exactly the tea you want to be drinking on a dark and dreary day like we are experiencing today. This tea delivers a simple yet satisfying flavor of sweet yet tangy berries (from the black currants), slight notes of a flora hint now and again, all wrapped up with a lovely wine aftertaste.  Really lovely.  This is one I could see sharing with friends at afternoon tea with a biscuit or two.

Can’t really say enough good things about this one. A depature from the complicated and unique tea blends that 52Teas offers. As much as I love those teas, I love this one just as much. Sometimes the most simplest teas are the most satisfying.

Taster’s Review:

Shame on me! I found this poor neglected tea in one of my tea storage bins over the weekend. I should know better. I was so excited when I first received this tea but alas, it was pushed to the back of the bin.  Well I have rectified this problem but drinking about 3 cups of this brew this morning!

This tea is no longer available on the Solstice Brews Etsy site but there are so many other amazingly awesome teas available. Like Tardis Tea.  That one has my name written all over it!

This tea is a gorgeous blend of green tea, with huge and I mean huge bits of pineapple and coconut in it. I couldn’t believe how lovely the inclusions were for this tea. Normally you just get little pieces, but not with this tea. You could smell the tropical feel in the aroma coming off of the dry leaves.

I prepped water at 190F and scooped a few spoon fulls of tea into my infuser. Poured the water in and allowed the tea to brew for about 3 minutes. I was greeted and rewarded with a lovely light and refreshing cuppa that just shined.  All flavors were present and accounted for.

The green tea was a lovely buttery goodness that laid the foundation for the other flavors to play off of. The coconut was sweet and gave that familiar flavor to the blend and the pineapple tasted like fresh pineapples! What I loved the most about this tea was that it didn’t taste like a pina colada but all those flavors were noted.  I am not a big pina colada fan so that just made me happy. I loved how all of the flavors created a happy feeling tea that was so light but with rich flavors. Very refreshing and this would make an absolutely smashing ice tea with a pineapple wedge for a garnish!

Another reason why I love Solstice Brews so much. Her teas are solid and you can count on them being marvelous!

Taster’s Review:

Ever have a day where you needed your tea to lift you up? That is my day today. Everything just seems to be blah around here so I wanted something that had a bit of a pep in its step to bring some sunshine into my day. So I grabbed this one.

To start, I just love the base for green teas that 52Teas uses. It is light but still has a nice fullness to it to provide a stellar buttery flavor that I adore.  Really great base and then you add on blueberries. ..You have one delicious and refreshing tea that brings a smile to your face.

In the package the tea has similar notes to a baked good or a pastry, due to the nutmeg. Smells heavenly! Brewed up with water prepped from per the package instructions and allowed to brew for about 3 minutes (oversteeped a tad there), I poured this in my to go cup and away I went. I allowed the tea to cool for about 10 minutes and took my first sip.

You are greeted with an amazing bright and vibrant blueberry and green tea flavor that makes you want to keep drinking the tea.  I didn’t really get the scone part of the description for this tea blend but I’m ok with it. The taste you get is really lovely. Sure it would have been able to taste more of the nutmeg but what I have here is fabulous. Maybe if I shake up the pouch more, I’ll get more of that nutmeg flavor.

Another wonderful tea from 52Teas! You really can’t go wrong with them!
