I love Hostess Sno-Ball cakes. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, the Sno-Ball was a chocolate cake, filled with cream, covered in marshmallow, and crusted in coconut. Yeah, I know, it’s a lot to take in. Not to mention the cakes were dyed different colors for the holidays (orange for Halloween, red and green for Christmas, pink for whatever). As a kid, these cakes were the nectar of the gods. Into adulthood, we entered the dark ages when Hostess filed for bankruptcy and the snacks were no longer being manufactured. To help me cope with the loss, I took a stab at designing my own chocolate-coconut tea blend (it turned out pretty good). Since then, the Hostess recipes have been acquired by new companies and I can now find those tasty marshmallow cakes back on the shelves.
With all this in mind, it was an easy choice to order up a bag of Snowball tea from Bluebird Tea Co. I love this blend, it is no surprise to me that it has even won awards for its taste. Rich coconut and sweet chocolate are really pushed over the top with mini marshmallows. There’s a hot-chocolate coziness to this tea, made all the more decadent by the creamy coconut and cocoa shells. I take my tea black, without sugar or milk, but this is just the kind of tea that would make a fantastic dessert late with milk and whipped cream. I look forward to ordering more of Snowball tea from Bluebird Tea Co. to drink and to share before the season is over.

White Chocolate Samoa by The NecessiTeas
Yay, a white chocolate coconut tea! With caramel! And it’s caffeine free, so it’s great as a nightcap.
I approximated the steeping instructions for this tea, noticing as I did so that there’s plenty of coconut visible in the dry tea. It has a sweet creamy smell even when dry. Once the tea is steeped, it turns out to be about the color of apple cider, but a bit darker. It has a light, pleasant flavor and fragrance from the very first sip. I found it to have a creamy flavor and aftertaste (presumably from the coconut).
Altogether I found this tea very enjoyable, although I don’t think it’ll end up in my rotation for daily drinking. It’s very heavy on the coconut (since it contains both actual coconut and coconut flavor) and on the sugar factor, so it’s a sure winner if coconut is your favorite flavor ever and you take lots of sugar in your tea!

Description:
Growing up I was a Girl Scout and I was great at “selling” cookies. I would polish off a box of Samoas after school while working on my homework. Chock up another “sale” my parents had to chip in for. Gone are the days when it was okay to eat an entire sleeve of cookies. So here’s my guilt-free version of the classic Samoa. As always, I like to put a spin on things so I used white chocolate instead then added sweet caramel and toasted coconut to recreate an old favorite.

Coconut Matcha from 3 Leaf Tea #VeganMoFo2016
I figured Coconut Matcha from 3 Leaf Tea was not only due for a review here at Sororitea Sisters but it would make a great tie-in for today’s Vegan MoFo Prompt which is “Late Night Snack”. I maybe a little different than most but I really LOVE a good, flavored matcha in the evening or even late at night. Although – I never think it’s a BAD time for a good matcha!
For a late night snack one evening I had some of this matcha and it was glorious! Coconut Matcha from 3 Leaf Tea is SO very creamy, SO very sweet, and SO very tasty! It’s the closest I have tasted to natural, shredded coconut in liquid form. I’m pretty sure I haven’t tasted a coconut matcha that I like better than this one from 3 Leaf Tea.
Below you can see some drink ideas using Coconut Matcha from 3 Leaf Tea but I enjoy it straight-up with hot water. Eventho I think this is great anytime of day I think this makes a great late night snack since it’s creamy, comforting, sweet, and dessert-like.

-
Traditionally, a bamboo whisk, also called a chasen, is the preferred tool to whisk matcha. A chawan, or matcha bowl is also used. If those items are not available, a small metal whisk and a wide bowl or mug to accommodate room for whisking can be used.
-
Water temperature is important for the matcha to maintain it’s sweet flavor and avoid turning bitter. Water temperatures below 170° F are recommended.
-
Matcha is stored best in an airtight, light proof container. To maintain maximum freshness, store in refrigerator.
-
Sifting matcha through a fine mesh strainer before use helps remove clumps and creates a smoother consistency.
Ingredients: Matcha, natural flavor

Chocolate Coconut Truffle from The NecessiTeas
Imagine my JOY…Chocolate Coconut Truffle from The NecessiTeas option! YAY! The chocolate in this flavored Black and Honeybush Blend is cocoa nibs. I really must pause and try and explain to the best of my ability the aroma that rolled out of the bag once I opened it. It was like a DARK Chocolate Brownie. Upon a second sniff I was able to take in the coconut aroma as well.
Chocolate Coconut Truffle from The NecessiTeas has a very dark sip at the beginning and then follows through with a sweeter middle sip. The end sip on to the after taste is much more creamy and dreamy and the flavor that lingers well on to the after taste is another treat in itself.
The apple ingredient is more of an afterthought. It’s very subtle but I couldn’t imagine Chocolate Coconut Truffle from The NecessiTeas without it.
Once this has had a chance to cool at room temperature for a bit I noticed the flavor becomes even more smooth. This is darn tasty! Now I want to eat a brownie! Chocolate Coconut Truffle from The NecessiTeas the ultimate sweet tooth tea.

White Coconut from BlendBee
What is this coconut wizardry White Coconut from BlendBee? Upon opening the bag my nostrils and surrounding were FILLED with the aroma of creamy and dreamy coconut. It was almost like an Almond Joy without the chocolate!
Once infused I was delighted with the delicate white tea shade that filled the steeper! The coconut, lemon, and white tea were a visual treat as well! Because of the shredded coconut it seemed a bit ‘crumby’ but certainly in a GOOD way! The flavor was intense! The coconut, lemon, vanilla, and stevia were having a very loud party in my mouth!
The stevia was a little loud than I would normal enjoy but it seems to make sense here! My cuppa started off as a HOT one but I let it cool at room temperature as I drank more and more! I quickly understood that this would make a FABULOUS iced white flavored tea as well!
WOW! Yeah! White Coconut from BlendBee is surely something to try – and enjoy – and savor! What an eye-opener!
