When the weather gets warmer, I feel a resurgence of my love for all things minty and cool. Iced mint tea on a hot day helps me cool down and refresh like nothing else. After getting a taste of Jasmint from Chash Tea, I’ll have to add this blend to the rotation.
This tea came to me in well-designed little package, and when I looked it up online, the Chash website is equally enticing. The stylish package makes me feel extra classy when I brew up my tea.
The dry leaf of this tea is everything you want in a minty tea, fragrant and cool and crisp, as popping and fresh as mint right from the herb garden. When brewed, this tea shows off its other ingredients, with a dominant bloom of jasmine, and a nutty, barky undertone from the tea leaves. The spearmint is at the back of each sip: minty and slightly creamy, with a touch of vanilla. I always find that peppermint is a little too harsh on its own, and it needs the softer creaminess of spearmint to help balance it out. The sweet-mint taste of spearmint in this blend is no exception.
My go-to summer mint tea has always been some variety of Moroccan Mint with peppermint and black or Darjeeling tea blended together. Jasmint is a lovely departure from this usual mix. The flowery jasmine and creamy mint are a great combination of both floral and cool. This tea feels like the ideal summer night, with open windows blowing in cool air with the fragrance of garden blossoms.

Sri Lanken Chai (AKA Chai of Sri Lanka) from Chash Tea
I received a small sample of Sri Lanken Chai (AKA Chai of Sri Lanka) from Chash Tea and was pretty curious about it. It was an herbal chai.
Chash Tea states on the product description that as with most chai, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove, pink and bruised pepper form the spicy foundation and said that these warm spices need to be softened and that the original Sri Lankan version uses lemongrass, coconut chips and pineapple so they combined the two in their Sri Lanken Chai (AKA Chai of Sri Lanka) from Chash Tea.
Because it was such a small sample I’m not sure if I was able to get all of the ingredients in 1 cuppa. I could clearly see lemongrass, bruised pepper, and possibly a small chip of ginger. When I opened the sample the scent of the ingredients was impressively strong and did smell like chai, lemon, and possibly candied pineapple. The taste was primarily spiced lemongrass. It’s not a bad flavor. It was lacking the notes of pineapple, coconut, and certain individual spices. Having said that the taste is yummy for a herbal chai. I’m curious what the added notes of coconut and pineapple would have been like tho in Sri Lanken Chai (AKA Chai of Sri Lanka) from Chash Tea.

Huo Shan Yellow Tea from Chash Tea
I really LOVE yellow tea and try them whenever I can but they still seem few and fair between so when I saw Huo Shan Yellow Tea from Chash Tea in my mailbox I couldn’t wait to try it!
The leaves of this Huo Shan Yellow Tea from Chash Tea were paler yellow-gray-green in color and somewhat flat. A few lonely leaves had delicate white, fuzzy hairs on them which indicated the freshness, quality, and delicate nature of this tea.
The flavor was gentle, outrageously clean, and not at all bitter. Huo Shan Yellow Tea from Chash Tea is a really terrific yellow tea! I tried to savor it as much as I could because I am sure it will be some time before I have another mouth watering yellow tea. I’m thankful for the time I spent with Huo Shan Yellow Tea from Chash Tea. It was incredibly good while it lasted.

Venetian Rose from Chash Tea
Venetian Rose from Chash Tea was the tea that started my day a few weeks ago! And let me tell you – it was a mighty fine way to start the day!
With black teas from India, China, and Sri Lanka paired with rosebuds – how could you go wrong? Venetian Rose from Chash Tea smells and tastes just like you think it would based on those ingredients! It has a medium strength black tea base and mild to slightly-medium rose flavor to it. It feels great on the tongue and on the throat! It leaves a lovely floral aftertaste, too!
Eventho I sipped on Venetian Rose from Chash Tea for my morning tea – I think this would be ideal for afternoon tea as well! This is completely delightful and satisfying in every way! If you are looking for a gently flavored and scented black tea try Venetian Rose from Chash Tea.
