Sometimes…I just want a plain, simple white tea. Don’t get me wrong…that doesn’t mean that it’s inferior. That could not be further from the truth when I’m sipping and jotting down tea tasting notes for this White Tea from Capital Tea Limited. The more specific, lengthy name of this lovely white tea from china is called…Bai Hao Yin Zhen – Yunnan Da Bai Silver Needle 2016.
A Yunnan Silver Needle? Yes please!
Bai Hao Yin Zhen – Yunnan Da Bai Silver Needle from Capital Tea Limited features gorgeous, pure, long shiny silver buds that give off a notably sweet floral aroma.
Unopened – these leaves are STUNNING and produce an incredibly sweet and smooth nectar-esque tea liquor with complex flavor and aroma notes that fondly remind me of both apricots and melons…two of my favorite fruits from the time I was a tike!
Sometimes you can just lose yourself in simplicity but isn’t that what is needed from time to time? Especially after a long, stressful day, week, month, or YEAR? This tea whispers ‘YOU TIME’. Listen to the whispers…and enjoy a cuppa!

Akiya Estate Arunachal Pradesh FTGFOP (CL – SPL) – 2016 from Capital Teas Limited. . . .
I would describe today’s tea (Akiya Estate Arunachal Pradesh FTGFOP 2016) as “juicy.” It has a plum/nectarine vibe to it like someone stealthed a little bit of Goya fruit juice in there. It’s a straight black, which makes this a delightful surprise. The flavor is bright & perky, like the appearance of the tea itself (golden tipped leaves, much lighter than the average black).
I think this tea would be a good introduction to straight blacks. I, too, once feared the straight tea. How could it be so complex and interesting as everyone says? Are they cray-cray or something?
Liking straight tea has not classed up my personality whatsoever. I’m wearing a sweater with a cartoon fox illustration on it. My desk has three stuffed animals (Grumpy Cat, Pikachu, Deadpool), three action figures (Captain America, Winter Soldier, Mystique), and a Dog-A-Day calendar on it. There are also two sarcastic pen-mugs, one of which says “CAPTAIN OF INDUSTRY,” and the other of which says “CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK.” I also have a Penn State Nittany Lion Lego-compatible mini-figure hot-glued to my lamp.
My point here is that this tea — like many straight teas — is not un-approachable. You can feel free to try it. Explore it. Get in there and see if you can taste those mysterious Other Flavors. Much like alligator allegedly “tastes like chicken,” this tea “tastes like juice.” Get on board!

Boisahabi Estate Assam SFTGFOP1 – 2015 from Capital Tea Limited. . . . .
Boisahabi Estate Assam SFTGFOP1 – 2015 from Capital Tea Limited is the tea of the moment here at Sororitea Sisters. It’s a sweetly aromatic, attractive deep brown Assam leaved tea with plenty of golden tips thrown into the mix.
According to the company’s website these leaves infuse to a rich, medium bodied, and notably malty tasting tea liquor with a clean smooth mouth feel. I agree with most of that, however, I would say that it’s more of a bolder, richer flavored Assam.
Boisahabi Estate Assam SFTGFOP1 – 2015 from Capital Tea Limited also has slightly malty flavors with a subtle nod to dark chocolate. On the end sip on to the after taste I thought it was a bit peppery. The flavor lingers nicely.
I would also agree that Boisahabi Estate Assam SFTGFOP1 – 2015 from Capital Tea Limited is a marvelous morning tea. It’s a nice pick-me-up! I feel it’s one of those top notch Assam offerings especially for those who appreciate teas from different estates!

Kenya Emrok Factory FTGFOP1 from Capital Tea Limited
I’m a fan of Black Teas – as many of you may already know. I’m a fan of tasting teas from different countries and estates, too! So of course I was excited to try Kenya Emrok Factory FTGFOP1 from Capital Tea Ltd. One thing I couldn’t recall was that if I have ever had a tea from Nandi Hills in West Kenya, specifically, and that is where this tea hails from.
Kenya Emrok Factory FTGFOP1 from Capital Tea Ltd. is harvested in December and the leaves are tri-colored in different shades of brown and what I would consider to be a khaki type color. The infused leaves leave behind a lovely shade of tea water.
The flavor on the tongue is just as impressive – if not more. I could pick up notes of citrus and honeysuckle but also wet-woodsy hits as well. Kenya Emrok Factory FTGFOP1 from Capital Tea Ltd. is right up there with some of my favorite Kenyan teas. I would certainly recommend it!

Akiya Estate Arunachal Pradesh FTGFOP (CL – SPL) from Capital Tea Limited
Akiya Estate Arunachal Pradesh FTGFOP (CL – SPL) from Capital Tea Ltd. is the tea of the moment here at Sororitea Sisters. Akiya Estate Arunachal Pradesh FTGFOP (CL – SPL) from Capital Tea Ltd. is an Assam that is of medium strength and offers malty and fruity flavors, naturally! The fruity flavors I speak/write of are more like stone-fruit such as a nectarine or peach.
The leaves of Akiya Estate Arunachal Pradesh FTGFOP (CL – SPL) from Capital Tea Ltd. are multiple shades of brown. Tri-colored, even. The aroma has a bit of a peppery aroma if steeped a bit too long but if steeped a bit too long the flavor of the tea is still yummy. It’s quite forgiving, actually.
I can’t remember having another Aikya Estate tea and if I have I don’t think I ever gave it an appropriate review. I’m glad I was able to sample and write one for Akiya Estate Arunachal Pradesh FTGFOP (CL – SPL) from Capital Tea Ltd. It’s a very tasty tea. The full tea experience that will awaken all of the senses! A great way to start the day and for those who like to live life on the wild side maybe ever end your day with this one! I know I have and I enjoyed it! YUM!
