Adagio Teas is one of those tea companies that I have always adored. Being the self professed lover of all things fandom related, Adagio Teas’s customs blends have always had a special place in my heart. The fact that you can create your own blend to represent your beloved fandom and enjoy this creation while watching your favorite show or playing your favorite game. . . .I mean that is what drinking tea is all about. Enjoying life’s moments while having a trusty cuppa by your side.
With all of the Star Wars love that is going on this week, we thought this would be a great time to giveaway three sample tins of Star Wars inspired Adagio Teas Custom Blends to one lucky reader! Power Down (R2-D2), Bowcaster Brown (Chewie), and Blast (Finn). These blends sound amazing. . .especially Bowcaster Brown. I may have to pick up a tin of that one next time I order from Adagio Teas!

Vanilla from Adagio Teas. . . . .
This tea reminds me of how cookie dough tastes before the chocolate chips get added. Sort of a brown sugar and vanilla flavor. Very cozy and warm and soft.
If you’re going for a kick in the pants, this isn’t it. But if you want a nice morning cup that you could sip in between, say, crocheting booties for children, this would be just the thing.
I have a variety of scenarios this would be right for:
– Drinking while wearing toe socks on a glassed-in porch while it’s snowing
– Handing to someone who just came in from skiing
– Slurping during a This Old House marathon
– Imbibing while browsing a library (IN A SPILL-PROOF CONTAINER, GUYS; RESPECT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY)
– Quaffing (drinking) while getting ready for a girls’ night — while playing Adele really loud, obviously
– Downing at the dog park from a thermos while you pray your dog does not get fresh with the other dogs
– Draining while you choose a Christmas tree and watch your partner cut it down (you couldn’t possibly help — you’re drinking tea)
– Partaking in bed, scrolling through friends’ Instagram party-pics, being grateful you are not wearing heels, makeup, or Spanx on this lovely night Comfort is, simply, the name of this tea’s game.
This is tea is the epitome of hygge.

According to the International Ice Cream Association, Vanilla is by far the most popular flavor, getting a full 23% of all ice cream consumption. Inspired by this love, Adagio created Vanilla Black Tea, combining the rich, warm, sugar aroma of vanilla with bright Ceylon black tea. Soothing, sweet and very ‘beany’ vanilla fragrance, like warm sugar cookies made with fresh vanilla beans.

Dragon’s Palm Tree from Adagio Teas. . .A Signature Blend
What a light, sweet, darling delight of a tea! This white/peach/strawberry/apricot delight is the tea equivalent of that coral color all the cool kids are wearing these days. Almost pastel, but with that punch of color.
Every time I sip it, I’m a little surprised. I feel like I’m getting POW!ed in the face by a cartoon character. Like those old Batman onomatopoeia typographic masterpieces:
Robin would be like “Holy unexpected flavor blast, Batman! This dragon tea is fierce!” And Batman would say, “not NOW, Robin! Get the Bat Shark Repellent!” Robin would say, “Will that work on dragons?” Batman would say, “It’s all we have in the Bat-Copter, Boy Wonder!” And you would say, “Bat Shark Repellent?” And I would say, “It literally happened. You need to watch the 1960s movie again.”
And you would say, “You’ve talked about Batman a LOT on Sororitea sisters.” And I would say, “I’ve tried many bright, vivid, cartoon-like teas. And they’re delicious. Get on board.”
Sweet, fruity teas really are great. Give this one a go!

Happily Headless from Adagio Teas. . . GoT Inspired Tea!
Now that Game of Thrones is six seasons in and the books have been around even longer, I think it is safe to say that referencing Ned’s death doesn’t really require a spoiler warning. I mean you would basically need to have lived under a rock to not know the shocking decapitation that befell the Stark patriarch. I guess people should have seen it coming when the show cast Sean Bean in the role given he is known for being killed off. In fact, this particular blend is merely one of a series of teas inspired by the many Sean Bean deaths.
One of the biggest appeals of Adagio is their fandom blends. They don’t have the best quality ingredients but something about pairing a tea with beloved characters just gives them an edge. Nostalgia is probably to blame but slapping a name like “Happily Headless” on a blend just makes me enjoy the tea that much more. Maybe its just me who feels this way though.
This is a black tea/green tea blend with chai spices, cream flavor, orange, and bits of candy canes in the leaf. The combination creates a sort of spice cake flavor that is rather intoxicating. The green base is slightly vegetal and the orange can be a bit pithy but mostly this is a whole lot of delicious. The peppermint from the candy canes is lacking just a touch but I am not sure how well it would blend with the other flavors that are present anyways, so perhaps that is for the best. If anything, the candy canes contribute a bit of a winter bite as you finish the sip – perhaps a nod to Ned’s famous warning?

Jump Start from Adagio Teas. . . . . .
I’m a caffeine lunatic that’s a little hesitant about maté (it sometimes tastes dry/musty to me). So I was holding off on this until a Day of Great Urgency.
Today was such a day. I spaced out in the shower and was late to a meeting with wet hair. The files I needed for a bunch of projects were unavailable to me. The Internet was down. I considered turning to my nemesis, coffee, for a much needed jolt.
But then I remembered My Backup Plan, the Jump Start.
I’m pretty sure this tea hooked up some wires directly to my heart and zapped it alive again. I went from “mehhhhhh on liiiiiife” to dancing at my desk.
The taste itself is okay — I still don’t love maté — so I recommend adding a bit of honey and vanilla almond milk to it. Boom. Yum.
You’re good to go… TO INFINITY… AND BEYOND!
(Yes. I am VERY hype right now.)
