Dragon’s Palm Tree from Adagio Teas. . .A Signature Blend

What a light, sweet, darling delight of a tea! This white/peach/strawberry/apricot delight is the tea equivalent of that coral color all the cool kids are wearing these days. Almost pastel, but with that punch of color.

Every time I sip it, I’m a little surprised. I feel like I’m getting POW!ed in the face by a cartoon character. Like those old Batman onomatopoeia typographic masterpieces:

Robin would be like “Holy unexpected flavor blast, Batman! This dragon tea is fierce!” And Batman would say, “not NOW, Robin! Get the Bat Shark Repellent!” Robin would say, “Will that work on dragons?” Batman would say, “It’s all we have in the Bat-Copter, Boy Wonder!” And you would say, “Bat Shark Repellent?” And I would say, “It literally happened. You need to watch the 1960s movie again.”

And you would say, “You’ve talked about Batman a LOT on Sororitea sisters.” And I would say, “I’ve tried many bright, vivid, cartoon-like teas. And they’re delicious. Get on board.”

Sweet, fruity teas really are great. Give this one a go!

Hindbaersnitter Shou Mei from 52Teas. . . . . .

Normally I am not a lover of Shou Mei blends. I find the base can get a little soapy at times. This tea definitely does not have that problem. Instead the base is buttery and maybe a touch floral, which in this case is working with the other flavors in the blend as opposed to working against them like so many other white teas/shou meis I have tried.

The buttery element of the base helps to sell the concept of the pastry notes while the floral notes contribute to the raspberry flavor that really shines. Jammy and bright. On top of all that, there is a sweetness to this tea that can only be reflective of a sugary glaze.

Now I personally have never had a hindbaersnitter, at least not that I can recall, but if this is truly representative of what they taste like, I am sure I would be a fan. Yum!

Silver Yeti from Nepal Tea LLC. . . . .

Every once in a while I crave that light floral subtle buttery flavor that only a good solid white tea can deliver.  After drinking quite a few heavier teas today, a solid white tea was exactly what I was craving. Luckily, I had this tea waiting to check out.

Nepal Tea LLC  will be launching a Kickstarter campaign in February of 2017 so I thought it would be a good idea to see what they offer to see if I wanted to back them.   Here is a bit about them:

Nepal Tea was conceived in May 2016, when Nishchal came back to the US from his trip to his homeland, Nepal. He stayed on the tea farm, which his father started in 1984. After seeing the impact tea-farming had on the community – he wanted to expand on the idea and start a social venture that not only promotes organic teas from Nepal, but also enriches the lives of farmers and creates sustainable communities.

So far, I’m liking what I’m reading and learning about them. Plus Silver Yeti is exactly what my taste buds are craving.

Silver Yeti from the very first sip is smooth, rich, and full of flavor. Wonderfully buttery notes with a subtle hint of a vegetal twist at the end. This tea delivers a silky mouth feel that keeps you coming back for more.

Just fantastic and a perfect tea to enjoy as I’m winding down my day.

Bianca from The NecessiTeas. . . . .

I’m long overdue for reviewing a flavored white tea so I figured today was as good as a day as any! Bianca from The Necessiteas is a flavored white tea sure to impress! I know it impressed me!

With lovely white tea flavored with lemon peel, lemongrass, lavender, marigold petals, natural and organic flavors it was hard to go wrong with this choice in flavored white teas

It was slightly sweet, creamy, floral, and citrusy upfront and lingered nicely, to boot! Because of its low caffeine it makes for a satisfying cup almost any time of day!

Bianca from the Necessiteas is YUMMY hot or cold, equally, in my opinion.

I doubt I would change anything about this tea. But if you are feeling a little squirrelly you could add a hint of mint to change it up without compromising the overall flavor of this tea. It’s not needed but adding mint is never a bad thing in my book!

This is a tea I could easily drink nearly each and every day!

White Tea Raspberry from Tea of Life. . . . .

Growing up, my parents had the MOST beautiful, delicious raspberry bushes growing on the side of our garage. I remember going out with clean empty yogurt containers (reuse, reduce, recycle, anyone?) to fill with freshly picked berries for an afternoon snack. And you guys, these were the BEST berries– warm and sun-ripened, juicy and fresh.

Now as an adult, with raspberry bushes long gone (RIP, bushes), I’m constantly holding every raspberry I eat up to the impossible standards of those juicy yard berries of my youth.

When I pulled this tea from my sample pile, I knew I’d be searching for that bright, fresh berry flavor I love so much in my steeped cup. I don’t get too much raspberry from sniffing the dry leaf, but I’m still hopeful.

As a hot cup, it’s okay for me, but full disclosure, I’m not a huge fan of hot white tea. On a whim, I decide to cold-brew a cup (in December, of all things– not my usual, but spoiler alert: I’m glad I did!) and whoa!

There’s that bright, juicy raspberry flavor I love so much. It might not be a fresh cup of juicy summer berries picked right off the vine, but it’s the closest I’ve found in a cup of tea. I’ll be drinking this one iced all through the long winter months until berry season is back for real!
