#FanaticFriday: Stargate(SG1) Dr Daniel Jackson from Adagio Fandom Signature Blends

I’ve been going thru Stargate withdrawals and just might have to go back and re-watch all of them AGAIN from the beginning until then I can reminisce  with this tea…Stargate(SG1) Dr Daniel Jackson from Adagio Fandom Signature Blends.  Won’t you join us in celebrating #FanaticFriday: Stargate(SG1) Dr Daniel Jackson from Adagio Fandom Signature Blends is the tea I have chose for the occasion.  Dr Daniel Jackson was one of my favorite characters!

This Stargate(SG1) Dr Daniel Jackson from Adagio Fandom Signature Blends is something I have had in my personal stash for a while and just noticed recently that it is one of the signature adagio blends from Jeffrey McWhirter.  The tea gods must have been talking to me because Woodie (Jeffrey’s partner) and I have been chatting about possibly featuring some of their signature blends in the near future!  Heck YES!  Especially if Stargate(SG1) Dr Daniel Jackson from Adagio Fandom Signature Blends is any hint of what is to come!

Stargate(SG1) Dr Daniel Jackson from Adagio Fandom Signature Blends infuses to a very dark brown which I LOVE.  The aroma is very chai-like with the addition of cocoa nibs, cocoa nibs, and more cocoa nibs!  The flavor is an enhanced chai taste on tongue with your standard chai flavors paired with slightly sweet, creamy, and cocoa hints.  Okay…there are more than just HINTS of cocoa there is quite a bit and I think that is pair of why this blend shines!

Stargate(SG1) Dr Daniel Jackson from Adagio Fandom Signature Blends is much like the character I adore on the show… strong, sensitive, geeky, smart, and intriguing!

Taster’s Review:

It’s been too long since my last REALLY GREAT Pumpkin Chai and this Pumpkin Spice Chai from The Tea Spot is just what I was looking for!  Sure the ingredients include black tea, ginger root, cardamom, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, black pepper, pumpkin flavoring…but it’s much more than that.  The flavors meshed well together.  Everything was powerful but nothing overpowered anything else.  The pumpkin flavoring was outstanding!  I make special note of this because I have had some really questionable pumpkin flavors in tea over the years but this was among the best I have had!

Pumpkin Spice Chai from The Tea Spot provided me with a complete tea experience from beginning to end!  From the moment I opened the bag until long after my last sip!  It smelled wonderful, it tasted exceptional, the quality of everything was top notch, and when I was done with my last sip I craved more!  Needless to say Pumpkin Spice Chai from The Tea Spot didn’t last long in my tea stash!

Tea Description:

A perfect tea for winter mornings. Take in the warm aromas of toasted almonds and spicy ginger as you brew a cup of this decadent chai blend.
Along with the mellow sweetness of almonds the liquor has notable spice accents which make for an inviting, astringent cup of tea. Sip it plain or with some sweetener, this tea will see you through chilly winters with its comforting warmth.

Taster’s Review:

This tea. . .this tea has me all sorts of confused! I want to love it but there is just something holding me back .. . .

This blend is a chai blend that sounds amazing with all the right notes.  I will admit that I am not always the biggest chai fan but this one just sounded amazing and had come highly recommended.

I brewed this up per the instructions on the package and was ready to be overtaken by amazing flavors of sweetness and spicy love.  But when I took my first sip, I was greeted with a very overpowering whole mouth feel of astringent notes and not really the warm toasted almonds and spicy ginger.  I looked at the packaging again to make sure that my parameters were correct and noticed that they say to add in sugar/honey to the mix.

So I grabbed some honey and added some in (not something I do very often).  And VIOLA! Those harsher astringent notes gave way to the decadent chai blend that they describe. Sweet with a subtle punch of spiciness from the ginger.  All that you could ask for and more from a chai. Really delicious and the honey just mixes in so well. A wonderful chai for sure.

Since I had to add the honey to get the notes to pop I can’t say I would ever want to buy more or try this one again but I am very glad to have tried it and will have no trouble infusing more for another cuppa!

Taster’s Review:

We are down to the wire! Last few days before the Christmas holiday is here.  And what better way to celebrate the holidays with a festive blend from Geeky Teas, one of my personal favorite tea stores.

Geeky Teas is located in California where they combine two of my favorite fandoms- tea and all around geekiness! You’ll find anything from board games, Dr. Who merchandise, geeky fandom teas, and much more! I’ve never personally been there but I’m an avid follower and huge fan of theirs.  I’ve used Geeky Teas for gift giving in the past and have always been impressed by Donna’s care and compassion.

Let’s chat about this tea- Buddy’s Blend.  Now the first thing I thought of was that this tea was going to be a maple syrup blend or very sweet with the whole candy obsession Buddy has.  Not the case at all.  This is a black tea with more of a chai feel going on. Cloves, cardamom, ginger root, cinnamon, and other spices.  I’m not the biggest fan of chais or blends that have a chai feel but I love Geeky Teas, so I had to check it out.

Brewed up like a black tea, this tea omitted a gorgeous aroma.  The ginger really stood out.  After about 3 minutes of steeping in water at 212F, the tea was ready to try.  The tea itself had quite a nice amber appearance to it.  I took a sip and from start to finish, you really do get a mild chai like flavor.  The ginger still stands out as the most prominent flavor while the cardamom and cloves take a spot in second place.  The cinnamon bark and cinnamon flavor rounds out the sip nicely with a touch of a spiced sweetness.  The tea itself isn’t overall very sweet but with a bit of honey or sugar, this tea could really be stellar! I could even see this tea being a wonderful tea to create a latte with. A wonderful tea to start the holiday week off right!

Pretty tasty, tho I think I would like to see Donna’s take on a maple syrup tea. . . .that could be fun and fantastic!

If you haven’t checked out Geeky Teas, please do.  They are a wonderful hand blended tea shop.

Taster’s Review:

I was looking for a little spice in my life and I found it with this Pahadi Masala Chai Tea from Pahadi Tea.  Of course this Pahadi Masala Chai Tea from Pahadi Tea has Black Peppersorn, Cinnamon, Fennel, Cardamom, and Cloves paired with the Assam base (which is wonderful by the way) it also has the right amount of dried mint in there, too!  This blend of spices isn’t over the top like some chai teas but rather perfectly ratioed with each ingredient!

It’s spicy but comforting, warming, and not-gritty like some chais can be.  This is the first tea I have tried from Pahadi Teas and let me tell you I am very pleased and can’t wait to try another offering from this company!

I agree with the Pahadi Masala Chai Tea from Pahadi Tea product description…it’s invigorating, delicious, stimulating, comforting, warming, and just nicely done all around!
