Taster’s Review:

Red Clover Tea and Herbs is one of those tea companies that I think sometimes goes unnoticed. It really is one of those hidden gems. I know even when you Google it, you have to dig a bit. But what a find! The teas are hand blended delights that you keep you coming back for more.

This blend is a yerba mate blend which I love. Yerba Mate is one of those unique teas that I keep on hand when I want something a little different from the same old same old and it always is satisfying.  Take Yerba Mate, peppermint, roasted cacao nibs, dark chocolate, red ginseng root & stevia leaf. Such a unique combo that I can’t say I’ve seen anywhere else.

Brewed this up per the sample pkg’s instructions and had a gorgeous cuppa awaiting me in about 7 minutes. I can’t say I really got much of  anything else than a chocolate note from the dry leaves. I was hoping that the chocolate wouldn’t dominate the tea and I was in luck it didn’t.

Unfortunately, the stevia leaf did. The tea itself is really fabulous and fantastic. A lush and silky like blend that reminds me of a candy bar but there is an off taste through each sip that is the stevia leaf. Sometimes I can’t pick the stevia leaf up in blends and others it is overwhelming. This blend doesn’t have an overwhelming blend but it is definitely there.

If this tea didn’t have the stevia leaf in it, I would be sold and this WOULD become a daily tea. Who wouldn’t want to drink a liquid candy bar each and every day to stomp on that sweet tooth that plagues so many of us.  Still overall, I was able to finish my cuppa without much of a fuss. Just wish the stevia leaf was either eliminated or just toned down.

Taster’s Review:

Picture the scene from Oliver. You know the heart wrenching one where Oliver walks up and asks for more to eat? But instead of Oliver asking for more to eat. . It is me asking for more of this tea.

This tea has blown me away! Or should I say this herbal has.

Made up of chocolate bits, honeybush, cinnamon, orange pieces and vanilla bean, this tea has everything a sweet tooth could want and more. I seriously can taste each ingredient on its own while co-mingling with the rest of the lot.  Amazing.

The dark chocolate isn’t so dark chocolate tasting that I can’t enjoy it (I am not a chocolate fan) while the honeybush and vanilla bean add in notes of creaminess.  The orange pieces provide this heaping citrus lovely background while the cinnamon kicks in a hint of spice.   I can’t get enough of this tea. This tea has such a lovely richness and creaminess to the feel of the tea.  Sweet chocolate orange love is what this herbal is.

While writing this review, I actually had to slow myself down from chugging this tea.  I haven’t had a tea hit me with the Wow factor like this in a while.

Do yourself a favor and check this herbal out.  I’m sad it is all gone now, but there will be more of this tea in my future!

Taster’s Review:

Have you ever looked at a tea and just thought this tea is going to be amazing? The smell was fabulous and you could tell that this tea was going to have the wow factor?

I had never heard of Red Clover Tea and Herbs until the other day when I was on Twitter.  I checked out their site and couldn’t believe the amount of teas they offered.  I was excited when my nicely packaged box arrived with a few teas to sample.

High-C has this amazing delicious fragrance to it.  It has that smell that reminds me of apple butter but with quite a bit of cinnamon thrown in for good measure.  Such a nice jelly/jammy flavor. I steeped this up according to the packaging on the tin, enjoying watching the color of the water turn  to a lovely pink color.

Took my first sip, all the while still enjoying the beautiful fragrant notes of apple butter.  Wow.  This has to be one of the best herbal teas I’ve ever had.  Their is hibiscus in the blend but not an overwhelming amount.  Just enough to provide a bit of a tart flavor.  Like what you would get from a green apple.  The cinnamon is lovely and gives that hibiscus apple note something to contrast with.  The two flavors together really taste fantastic.  The cloves are there but are not dominating like a lot of other clove teas I’ve had in the past seem to be.  Wood Betony is also listed as an ingredient.  I wasn’t sure what flavor it was bringing to the table.   From what I’m seeing from Wikipedia, this herb was considered one of those herbs that would cure what ails you. Another herbal that is in this mix that I’m not 100% familiar with is red clover.  Another herb I’ll need to research more.

This organic herbal tea is simply amazing.  The taste is perfect and matches the fall weather that is coming soon for us here in the Mid-West.  I would love to try this tea in muffin mix, as a tea pop, as an iced tea. . .The notes of the apple cinnamon jammy sort really play well with experimenting.
