Just Peachy from Blend Bee

Right off the bat I will tell you that I’m impressed with Just Peachy from Blend Bee for 2 reasons…one…the aroma…it’s wonderful and…two…because it’s a green tea and Honeybush blend that works really well!

The notable ingredients in Just Peachy from Blend Bee include not only green tea and honeybush but ginger and cinnamon which are both fairly strong – as well as – lemon peel and peach flavor.  It’s flavor on the tongue is comparable to other Ginger Peach teas I have tried in the past but seemed a bit more refined in some way.  Maybe it was the subtle addition of the lemon or maybe it was the sweet and green contrast of the green tea and honeybush.  Whatever it was it worked!

If Just Peachy from Blend Bee is any indication of how awesome their other teas will be (or are) then I am sure to be hooked on them soon!

Taster’s Review:

Recently I signed up for BlendBee’s monthly tea subscription and my first box arrived with my 2 teas for the month yesterday.   The first blend I checked out was Fresh Jasmine. (The other was Coco Blue which I well review in a bit so stay tuned!)

Fresh Jasmine consists of green tea, jasmine flowers, hint of spices and lemon.  I opened up the pouch to start prepping the tea and this tea had such a lovely bright candy note.  Think lemon drop candy!

Each package of tea that BlendBee sends you has the steeping parameters laid out for you.  After a few minutes of steeping and allowing the tea to cool, I was ready for my first sip. . which I’ll admit turned into a huge gulp. This blend is incredibly delicious!

Fresh juicy lemon notes pop while the green tea creates the full bodied rich buttery flavor.  The ginger creates a slight contrast that actually fits in well with the rest of the flavors.  As light and gentle as this tea is there are flavors that are bold and vibrant.  And honestly, as flavor goes-this tea does remind me of a lemon drop. Sweet and candy like.

Since this tea showed up at more door yesterday, I have already enjoyed about 10 infusions of this tea. I can’t seem to stay away from the blend.

All in all, I am crazy impressed with this tea and I’m incredibly happy with my decision to go with BlendBee.  For the price of two drinks at my local coffee shop, I get 30 cups of this (and another) amazingly fresh cuppas to enjoy.

Taster’s Review:

This tea is named Focus but it is doing anything but making me focus right now. . because right now I’m taking a break from work and seeing what other blends BlendBee offers.

BlendBee is one I’ve had a few blends by but I will have to say, this particular blend has me craving and wanting more of their blends! This tea is giving me those warm tea fuzzies and I can’t seem to get enough.

BlendBee was created in 2014 by Jamah Dacus, a health-crazed tea lover (from the website).  From what I’m seeing, these blends are handmade and seem to be crazy unique and fun.  With teas like Ginger Ninja. . .this site has my attention for sure!

Focus is a gorgeous blend of black tea, yerba mate, rose buds, and other ingredients. The coloring of this tea is beautiful, with the pops of this lovely red mixed in with the black and yerba mate tea base. With those two teas having more of an earthy tone, the rosebuds leap out at you, demanding your attention.

I brewed this tea up per the instructions (boiled fresh water and steep for 5-15 minutes).  I will say, I was worried about my first sip. I started having a conversation with a co-worker and allowed this tea to over steep by about 10 minutes. All I have to say is friends. . . this tea is crazy forgiving!

My first sip of this tea was like an explosion. Bursts of bright lovely flavors swirled, giving me a lovely afternoon beverage. The black tea is a subtle and gentle smoothness that gives way for the yerba mate to give a slightly earthy note. From what I can tell, the cacao nibs provide a dark rich silky touch and the rosebuds provide a sweetness that really becomes the star.  The lemon balm and orange extract are my favorite part of this tea. They give this really lush citrus note that combined with the other ingredients takes this tea up to another level.  There is also a subtle note of a roasted flavored.

I’m literally on my 3 infusion of this tea and I can’t get enough. Sure I’m starting to feel jittery from the yerba mate, but I can’t help it. This tea is that good and demands the attention and love.

BlendBee has impressed me and I will be ordering more of this tea for sure!

Taster’s Review:

I have always wanted to try Blend Bee Teas and thankfully the last box I received from Amoda Tea had Blend Bee Teas in it.

If you aren’t familiar with them, Amoda Tea is a monthly subscription service.  Each month you receive a sampling of teas from one company, showcasing their teas and allowing you the chance to try teas that you might not have tried.  I just love that concept. Other boxes send you a mix of different teas from different companies but the way Amoda Tea works, you get a nice sampling of what that particular company offers. Pretty great concept!

This blend from Blend Bee is an Oolong/Herbal mix that sounds amazing. All of the ingredients just sounded fantastic and the dry leaf mix smelled gorgeous.  I brewed this blend up with the parameters that were on the package and took my first sip.

As gorgeous as this tea smelled, I have to be honest and say I didn’t really care for the taste. There was something off with the tea that I can’t place my finger on. I’m wondering if its the ashwagandha root. All of the other flavors mix well together and from what I can tell would make a glorious tea on their own. The are strong notes of lemon and strawberry.  Those two flavors with the oolong note were heavenly.

I would love to try this tea without the ashwagandha root. Regardless, I’m still very excited to be given the change to check this tea and company out. I’m already on the website of both Amoda Tea and Blend Bee to see what looks interesting!

Lime Green with Envy from BlendBee

Lime-Green-with-EnvyTea Information:

Leaf Type:  Green

Where to Buy: Amoda Tea

Tea Description:

You don’t see as many lime teas as you do lemon because it’s so much more sour than a lemon and can be tough to balance in a tea. Here it really works though. The lime is tame. The strong green teas and the raspberry leaf give the tea backbone – a little bit earthy, vegetal and what hints at a black tea flavour.

What’s In It:
All organic ingredients: sencha green tea, china green tea, lemon peel, raspberry leaf, lime extract.

Taster’s Review:

Let’s all say that when I opened up this month’s Amoda Tea box, I squealed. . . LOUDLY! I love Amoda Tea’s monthly box and to see a company that I have been wanting to try for some tea featured, well, I was a happy girl to say the least.

Each month Amoda Tea puts together a thoughtful offering for their customers.  What I love is that when I open the box up, they have lovingly packaged my teas with my name on it. That just makes you smile!

This month they featured BlendBee, a company that I first heard about on Twitter.  When I saw that there was a sampling of Lime Green with Envy, I couldn’t get my infuser out quick enough.  This tea is described as a green tea with a sour twist. That is a lot for a tea to live up to. So I prepared my water and sat somewhat patiently while the tea steeped.  3 minutes later I was ready to take my first sip.

My initial thoughts? Wow, they got this right! I can really pick up that lime flavor.  Sour but not overly so that I’m puckering up as I drink the tea.  The green tea base is laying down a nice flavor that is somewhat grassy with notes of a vegetal finish.  Each flavor contrasts the other in a very nice way. This tea was crisp and refreshing!

As much as I loved this tea hot, I wanted to try it cold so I popped in a few ice cubes, threw the infuser back in the tea and let it steep for a few more minutes.

What I got in return was one of the best iced teas I’ve had in a bit. This will be one of those teas that I’ll be remembering for some time to come. Cold this tea just shines. I would love to finish this glass off with a nice lemon or lime wedge and possibly turn this tea into a mojito even. Cooled down the lime flavor really shines thru and I’m reminded of summer.  A great tea to have to bring some sunshine in your day.

This month’s offerings have made me realize that I need an Amoda Monthly Tea Box in my life every month.  I will be asking for a subscription for Christmas and if Santa doesn’t bring me what I want? I’ll be getting for myself!
