I have had my eye on trying teas from this company for a while.
I am a fanatic when it comes to dessert teas and The NecessiTeas have tons of options on that front so I am all in. CuppaGeek was kind enough to send me Strawberry Shortcake to try and I am so happy that she did since it is amazing!
I knew it would be good as soon as I opened the package. The creamy strawberry smell that came out of the bag was mouthwatering. I loved the nice big pieces of strawberry I could see in the blend. After I brewed it the strawberry smell was much lighter but definitely still there.
First taste oh man, so delicious. It was so creamy and strawberry. It tasted like a latte without milk. Side note-Must turn this into a latte later.
The only thing I wasn’t really getting was the cake part of it. I wanted it to be a little bit more cakey. It was faintly there but it was more strawberry cream than strawberry shortcake to me. But either way it is now on the top of my list of strawberry teas.
I also put some in to cold brew for the afternoon and let me tell you it is just as good iced. I really want this as a staple in my stash in the future and I will definitely be looking to try more of their blends.
Here’s the scoop!

Nightingale from Grimoire Tea & Herbal Alchemy. . . .
I must say the amount of great tea offerings on Etsy is a little insane. I get lost for hours on that site so often. All I have to do is type in anything tea related and then poof 2 hours later I forgot what I was originally looking for. But in doing so you find awesome companies like this one.
I swear Nichole aka Cuppageek knows me a little too well it is kinda beginning to freak me out. I have wanted to try a tea from this company for a while now but when I finally would remember to look at their site they would be sold out of everything. Then low and behold there was this little package in my box of teas to review and it was from this company!
I love green tea and honestly I don’t order it enough. I tend to lean more towards black and oolong most of the time when I am purchasing tea. But I love green tea. This is a gunpowder blend with lemon balm, spearmint and lavender. Opening up the little gold package I was immediately hit with the smell of lavender which is one of my favorite smells. Then there is a faint smell of the spearmint and lemon balm which I am happy with since spearmint can sometimes overpower a blend.
Brewed the spearmint smells a little stronger but the lavender is still the strongest scent. The flavor is surprisingly light I was expecting it to be more herbal since the lavender smelled so strong but it wasn’t. The spearmint was the stronger flavor and the lemon balm gave it a light lemon aftertaste. This is a very tasty gunpowder blend I wish I had more than just a sample but oh well. I will make sure I pay attention to their Etsy site more so I can get a full size of the next blend that catches my interest.

Focus Vanilla Mint from Sportland Tea Co. . . .
This company has caught my eye before so I was very excited to finally try one of their teas.
This company has blends geared towards athletes. I am an athlete I play volleyball regularly and am very active in general and I love tea so my interest is definitely peaked. This blend is called a Focus Blend since with the caffeine it would help you focus more. This blend is very simple with matcha, yerba mate, peppermint and vanilla. The smell surprisingly light not overly peppermint. It has a nice fresh smell, lightly grassy from the matcha. Once brewed the peppermint smell was definitely stronger but still not overwhelming.
Man this is delicious. I am a sucker for vanilla and mint together and it really works in this blend. I don’t really taste the yerba mate at all which is great for me because sometimes yerba mate can come across a little too herby for me. The matcha is the strongest flavor but it is not bitter at all. I think the vanilla really mellows out the matcha so it is very smooth.
The mint really comes out in the aftertaste. This is a very refreshing blend I like it a lot. Sadly this blend appears to be sold out at the moment but I put in my email because I would love to have some of this on hand. I am checking out some other blends on their website that definitely sound interesting as well, a roasted oolong and rooibos blend with cloves, star anise and orange peel. Yes count me in!
