Ginger Lily Oolong from Tea Ave. . . . .

Tea Ave has some of the most NATURALLY AMAZING Oolongs I have ever tried. Recently I was luck enough to sample Ginger Lily Oolong by Tea Ave and I knew right away I just HAD to share my thoughts and feelings with you!

Ginger Lily Oolong by Tea Ave features an Alishan Jin Xuan Oolong base with low roasting and oxidation levels. It’s light, sweet, smooth, and somewhat earthy with a subtle ginger finish that gently lingers onto the aftertaste.

My mind was puzzled as I sipped on Ginger Lily Oolong by Tea Ave. How could this flavor happen to such a light oolong? Tea Ave’s Ginger Lily Oolong is prepared using the ancient method, in which the tea absorbs the flower fragrance during the baking progress. It then produces a scented tea that’s aromatic and flavorful without using any additives or chemicals.

It’s mild, soothing, refreshing, FRESH, and almost like experiencing SUMMER in a cup! Because I live in the snow belt area of the east coast of the US I always try to hang on to every bit of summer that I can. Ginger Lily Oolong by Tea Ave certainly helped me do that. Maybe not literally but at least in my dreams while sipping on this lovely tea!

Cacao Tea from Oliver Pluff & Co. . . . .

I recently found out something VERY interesting! Martha Washington and I had/have something VERY IMPORTANT in common! We both admire and appreciate Cacao! Therefore I MUST tell you more about Cacao Tea from Oliver Pluff & Co.

Cacao Tea from Oliver Pluff & Co. is a WYSIWYG type of tisane! What you see is what you get – that is! The one and only ingredient in this herbal tea is roasted cacao shells. According to the company’s website Martha Washington enjoyed steeping the shells of roasted cocoa nuts from the cacao tree for the interesting flavor and health benefits.

There have been historical documents pointing to this. On the back of the label and tin there is mention of how George Washington asked his agents to get 20 pounds at a time of ‘shells of cocoa nuts’ from chocolate makers. Martha Washington would sip on cacao shell tea during breakfasts. I like to file this tidbit of information under ‘Learn something new everyday!”

Upon opening the tin the wonderous aroma of dark, dark chocolate filled my nose. It tasted as such, too! Dark and Roasted. Those are the two adjectives that come to mind while describing Cacao Tea from Oliver Pluff & Co.

I suppose one could add their favorite milk or milk alternative to this but I don’t think it’s necessary. For those who don’t eat many sweets in the form of desserts this might be your new best friend. Whether you are looking for that or a historical piece to contemplate during your cuppa…give Cacao Tea from Oliver Pluff & Co. a whirl, won’t you?

Cacao Shell Tea – roasted cacao shells

Martha Washington enjoyed steeping the shells of roasted cocoa nuts from the cacao tree for the interesting flavor and health benefits.

Tasting notes: Aroma of toast before brewing. Steeping in hot water unleashes a tonic of chocolate. The brew yields a full-bodied, slightly bitter infusion with strong notes of chocolate, and light flavors of melon.

Caffeine: Cacao shell tea is caffeine-free, but it does contain other natural stimulants.

Tummy Mint from Yerba Buena Tea Co.. . . . .

Some teas and tisanes I drink for a very specific reason. Today I would like to share with you TWO reasons I decided to reach for Tummy Mint from Yerba Buena Tea Co.

It was the middle of the week and I went out for lunch with ‘the boss’ and ‘the owner’ and I had a large salad with various nuts, seeds, fruits, and veggies on it. The dressing I chose was a potent balsamic. It was tasty when I was gnawing on it but it left gurgles later. I went back to the office and decided to try Tummy Mint from Yerba Buena Tea Co for the first time. GOOD CHOICE.

Tummy Mint from Yerba Buena Tea Co not only calmed my gurgles it freshened my breath. It was the perfect combination of peppermint, marshmallow root, chamomile, ginger, and fennel. It was minty – sure – but it also had a slightly sweet, subtle creaminess, and hint of licorice type taste to it. It seemed as tho all of the ingredients were evenly distributed throughout the sip. Not sure how they did it – but they did! Nothing was too overpowering. Tummy Mint from Yerba Buena Tea Co was my friend that day!

Bianca from The NecessiTeas. . . . .

I’m long overdue for reviewing a flavored white tea so I figured today was as good as a day as any! Bianca from The Necessiteas is a flavored white tea sure to impress! I know it impressed me!

With lovely white tea flavored with lemon peel, lemongrass, lavender, marigold petals, natural and organic flavors it was hard to go wrong with this choice in flavored white teas

It was slightly sweet, creamy, floral, and citrusy upfront and lingered nicely, to boot! Because of its low caffeine it makes for a satisfying cup almost any time of day!

Bianca from the Necessiteas is YUMMY hot or cold, equally, in my opinion.

I doubt I would change anything about this tea. But if you are feeling a little squirrelly you could add a hint of mint to change it up without compromising the overall flavor of this tea. It’s not needed but adding mint is never a bad thing in my book!

This is a tea I could easily drink nearly each and every day!
