Golden West from Pacific Tea. . . . .
Golden West from Pacific Tea – I have to tell you – I wasn’t thinking I would like this fruity herbal offering – but I did!
Golden West contains apple bits, rosehip peels, hibiscus, pineapple bits with rice flour, pear slices, coconut chips, ginger, natural flavour, and marigold petals. I wasn’t thrilled when I saw hibiscus but I set that aside based on all of the other ingredients in this blend of flavors. I figured it would be sweet but I was hoping it wasn’t going to be TOO sweet. Lucky for me – it’s sweetness was JUST RIGHT.
This fruity herbal was inspired by a golden afternoon in the Solomon western province and offered the low-acid blend of pear, coconut and ginger, then topped with notes of pineapple, marigold and hibiscus.
For me – personally – the pear shined here! The pineapple and coconut paired together awesomely and was the second flavor I picked up on. Apple was the third. Both the ginger and the hibiscus were very subtle and I think that is why this worked the way it did!
It was sweet and creamy. A yin and yang of sorts. It was hydrating at the same time. And didn’t leave a FUNKY aftertaste. This was delightful both hot and cold. This makes a wonderful Fruit Infusion.

Lapsang Souchong from Little Red Cup Tea. . . . .
I have been upping my intake of Lapsang Souchong as of late. I’m not sure if it’s because of the cooler weather, change of season, or just because I’m craving it – but what ever the reason I glad I am. Lapsang Souchong from Little Red Cup Tea is the tea of the moment for me and I have been wanting to share it with you for a while now.
Lapsang Souchong from Little Red Cup Tea is a stereotypical yet top-notch Lapsang Souchong! It gives off the ‘camp fire’ smell you would expect it would. It has a rather loud aroma and flavor but I would expect nothing less from this gem of a company! I enjoy this because of its pungency. Because of its quality. And because of its character. It does finish quiet smooth considering how it starts out and I find that fascinating and I welcome it.
If you are looking for something for the change of season or just looking for a potent, smoky, flavored black tea – try Lapsang Souchong from Little Red Cup Tea – I enjoyed every sip!

Description
Our Lapsang Souchong (Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, 正山小种) is amazing. We know, that’s a bold statement, and some will disagree. But Lapsang Souchong is a love it or hate it proposition, and we’ve given our hearts to this tea. This is one of our strongest teas, think bridge abutments or skyscraper foundations. This is our most pungent tea — we send it to you in a ziplock bag in addition to our regular packaging.
The black tea is redolent three distinct flavors at once — the black tea base, a hint of longyan (Dragon Eye, a Chinese tree fruit similar to lychee) and the pinewood smoke which is the tea’s most defining element.

Petal To The Metal from Ruby Lion. . . .
We always used to joke with my sister that she was the one in the family who ‘put the pedal to the metal’ or ‘had a lead foot’ because she enjoyed being the little speed demon on the highway. Sorry “Spud” if you are reading this! HEY! At least it’s not as bad as the time I announced on the radio that you could eat Twizzlers with your feet! Anyhow…that’s my little ‘tea word association’ with the tea of the moment I will be reviewing now Petal to the Metal from Ruby Lion Tea.
Ruby Lion is a newer tea company from what I have seen and their Petal To The Metal is my first taste of their product. Let me tell you it was a good first impression!
The loose leaf mixture was mostly (or completely) tighter winded black tea with hefty rose buds from what I could see. The black tea was of medium strength and had a nice even taste. It really didn’t take you for a wild ride or anything. The rose buds were marvelous! They certainly didn’t skimp on those! They were of top quality and the colors present in the dried petals were beautiful! This all contributed to the aroma and flavor of the mighty flower. It was delightfully floral.
This being my first encounter with Ruby Lion I have to say I’m intrigued and hope I have try more of the teas in the near future. This was a tasty one! I wish the very best as they continue to construct their website and presence in the tea world!

We’ve all had our fair share of floral, Rose herbal Teas. This time, Rose is taking a back seat as the scent and taste of freshly peeled cardamom pods infuse this Black Tea with a nostalgic, grounding flavor profile.

Sir Stuart Black & Green Blend from Kent & Sussex Tea & Coffee. . . . .
Sir Stuart Black & Green Tea from Kent & Sussex Tea & Coffee was named after the explorer Sir Stuart Cleary of Cranbrookshire after his trip to the Orient. This tea is lower in caffeine but highly flavored! Sir Stuart Black & Green Tea from Kent & Sussex Tea & Coffee is a black and green tea blended base with lots of other exciting ingredients mixed in!
Black Tea, Green Tea, Ginger pieces, Fennel, Cardamom seeds, Rose petals and Cornflower blossoms make of the flavor. It’s fruity, spicy, and floral! If you have sipped on an Earl Grey flavored green tea before and enjoyed it this might be one you would like to try. It’s somewhat reminiscent of that but it’s also so much more in terms of taste.
More specifically I was able to smell and taste the rose and fennel individually at a time were the Earl Grey Flavored Green tea was part of a weaker sip. The ginger and cardamom played more of a part with the aftertaste. There are lots of yin and yang flavors here and a lot going on but it all plays well with each other and makes for a colorful sight and tasty flavor on the tongue, too! If you liked black and green teas that are blended together and flavored well you will want to try Sir Stuart Black & Green Tea from Kent & Sussex Tea & Coffee!
