Pear flavored white tea? I’m in! Today I would love to tell you about my tea time with Perfectly Pear from Sloane Tea.
Sloane stresses the white tea they use in this white loose leaf is plucked only during a few short weeks in spring and that it is a Bai Mu Dan white from the Fujian province of China, also known as “white peony”.
It pairs perfectly with the sweet Asian pear and I would agree! Their product description says it’s a mouth-watering masterpiece that is both delicate and inspiring. I, too, found Perfectly Pear from Sloane Tea to be smooth, sweet, and mouth-watering. The pear flavor is pleasant. It’s not overdone nor underdone.
This is also fantastic ICED and is a real thirst-quencher, that is for sure!
All of this is GOOD NEWS, right? Well, what is the BAD NEWS? Well, the bad news is that Perfectly Pear from Sloane Tea is currently sold out. But if you can ever get your hands on it – I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who likes pears and/or likes flavored white teas!
Here’s the scoop!

Peach Iced Green Tea from LeCharm. . . . . .
It’s rare if I purchase a bottled iced GREEN tea in a store. Usually because I find most of them have added and unnecessary ingredients in them and/or sweeteners. Many of you know that I drink my teas straight-up with nothing added. So when I try a tea that is something other than “unsweetened” it just tastes so ‘OFF’ to me.
When I saw this Peach ICED Green Tea product from LeCharm arrive I was a little nervous. I was assuming it would have those ‘things’ I dread in bottled and store bought teas. But you know what they say about ASSUMING things, right?
Plain and simple this product has a goal of providing you with a brewed iced tea taste in 3 seconds or less. All I did was mix with about 8 ounces of cold water. Altho you can mix with Hot/Cold/Iced Water and can try it with 6 to 10 ounces of water. They suggest you shake well if mixing with Cold/Iced water. And remind you mixing with less water if a stronger taste preferred.
I thought I would go middle of the road with this first attempt and I have to say I was blown away with how natural it tasted! It tasted like a medium-strong green tea with a little bit of peach in there! SUCCESS!
Ingredients include 100% natural Green tea and peach extract. That’s it! It’s Calorie Free, Residue Free, and Sugar Free! No Additives, artificial flavors, or preservatives. Just open the bag, pour in cold or hot water, and enjoy your tea.
How EASY is that? EASY…I tell ya! It’s super convenient and DARN TASTY, too!

Imperial Pearl Oolong from Mountain Tea. . . . .
Boy…do I have a unique oolong for you today! It’s Imperial Pearl Oolong from Mountain Tea. It’s considered to be a BRANDY Oolong and is on the more rare side of oolongs you may have (or have not) tasted. If you manage to get your hands on it – I highly recommend it!
A brief overview of Brandy Oolongs are as follows…
It’s made from a special cultivar of the tea plant unique to Taiwan that is highly oxidized (85-90%) and has only recently been introduced to western tea enthusiasts. It’s also known as “Ruby-18″ which is a style of oolong initially created by crossing the Assamica tea varietal with the native tea plant to produce a tea that has become the favorite for tea enthusiasts of every age.
Before infusing I thought the dry leaf of Imperial Pearl Oolong from Mountain Tea smelled a bit like pine. Post infusion Brandy Oolong’s rich and amber brew hints of spice, cinnamon, and sweet-creamy malt notes REALLY come out to play! There is a tinge of crusty and bakey-ness to it that morphs into a sweet yet malty sip. Another thing I find interesting about this tea is when it’s fully brewed it has to be one of the darkest oolongs I have ever sampled!
Imperial Pearl Oolong from Mountain Tea was the winner of the 2012 NATC – Dark Oolong Category – Judge’s Choice Award for Exceptional Tea – as well as the winner of the 2011 NATC – Black Tea Category – 2nd Place. And I can totally understand why! Shame on me for procrastinating on the taste test and review for this one! It’s flipping fantastic and now among my favorite oolongs to date!
Here’s the scoop!
Leaf Type: Oolong
Where to Buy: Mountain Tea
Description
This rare brandy oolong (what is brandy oolong?) is a must have in your tea chest.
You will be enraptured with notes of molasses, honey and maple syrup. The dry leaf recalls the fragrance of ground red pepper, a splash of hot water and the nose transforms into something more savory and miso-like. We only picked the tenderest leaves of our prized oolong plants to create this exceptional tea; in doing so, we created a tea that is deep amber in color and pointedly sweet in flavor, sans astringency or bitterness.
Hotter water and longer steeping times will brew a more complex and spicier tea. Lower water temperature and shorter steeping times will brew a sweeter tea. Imperial Pearl is also known as Red Oolong in the East.

Pomegranate Passion White from Simpson and Vail. . . . .
I’ve been on a white tea kick lately. I couldn’t tell you what spurred white tea specifically but I certainly have one I would like to share with you today! It’s a flavored white tea and it’s from Simpson & Vail. It’s their Pomegranate Passion White Tea.
Pomegranate White Tea from Simpson & Vail is lightly sweet and incredibly delicious! It’s a blend of natural pomegranate and passion fruit flavors and it has a lovely airy, breezy tropical aroma that awakens the senses. Once infused it looks a little pinkish to the naked eye – sitting there in the cup waiting for me to take the first sip. This can be enjoyed either hot or iced. I like them equally.
Ingredients in this Pomegranate Passion White Tea are…of course…White tea…PLUS organic hibiscus flowers, marigold petals, malva flowers and natural pomegranate and natural passion fruit flavors. The ‘barely-there’ hibiscus flowers are at the ratio I wish most if not all other companies would ‘live by’. A little bit goes a long way! S&V seem to have this ratio down pat and for that I’m thankful! The floral ingredients are on the sweeter side moreso than the bitter/floral side and I’m happy about that, too! The fruity flavoring is nicely done…NOT overdone. Who ever put this tea together deserves a ‘MAJOR AWARD’ as the catch phrase from Christmas Story states!
I brewed 2 teaspoons of this loose leaf tea in 8 ounces of water (at roughly 175°), and steeped for 3 or 4 minutes. I was also able to cold brew this with success by infusing it overnight, too!
I’m totally LOVING this flavored white tea!

Strawberry TranquiliTEA from Cup of Love. . . . .
Strawberry TranquiliTEA is another lovely offering from Cup of Love. It contains green tea, REAL strawberries, and papaya pieces. 3 simple ingredients that really PROVE that LESS is MORE!
The green tea that is used is a light and smooth sencha. The strawberries I wouldn’t be surprised if Stavros at Cup of Love dried them himself! (I know he did with the watermelon in another of his flavors and it was AWESOME) And the Papaya chunks are plump and powerful. BOTH fruits present are deliciously mouthwatering!
It’s fragrant to the nose, juicy-sweet on the tongue, and comforting, relaxation, and shines a lingering JOY on my day!
This is as close to sunshine in a cup as you can get and I have to say I’m quite the fan! This is tasty hot, warm, cold, iced!
