Cold & Flu Relief from The Virginia Tea Company. . . .

I rarely even reach for a Cold & Flu Herbal Tisane because I usually don’t have to. I have been lucky to NOT catch much of what my friends, family, and co-workers catch. But sometimes I think it’s better and wiser to be proactive and nip in the in butt before it’s too late to combat! That is why Cold & Flu Relief from The Virginia Tea Company jumped out at me recently!

The ingredients include Organic Peppermint, Organic Spearmint, Yarrow Flower, Organic Ginger, Organic Echinacea, Organic Elderberry. Right away I knew the company added a little extra TLC in to this herbal tisane.

Because of the Peppermint and Spearmint I was very pleased with this flavor. It’s comforting when it’s hot. I supposed one could also infuse this and ice it because I opted for the hotter the better.

The flavor was heavier on the herbal side of things but the minty-freshness lingered nicely and made it come full circle. This one is a keeper – especially when you DON’T need it – if you know what I mean! And if you don’t know what I mean…I mean…Be PRO-ACTIVE, folks! Get ahead of the dreaded cold and flu – combat and fight all you can – while you can! I’m not saying this will ‘cure you’ but it certainly helped me fight what ever everyone else is suffering from!

An Cumin Interesting Blend from Steeped Tea. . . . . . #CuriousCumin

Curious Cumin? Curious Cumin! It’s all in the punctuation, folks! Either would work here! It’s Curious Cumin from Steeped Tea!

Curious Cumin is an Herbal Tisane that features Fennel, Anise, Cinnamon, Silver Lime Blossoms, Cumin, Turmeric, Goji Berries, Lemongrass, Rose Blossom Leaves, Peppermint Leaves, Pistachios, Pomegranate Blossoms, Cardamom, Sunflower Blossoms, Cornflower Blossoms, Safflowers, and flavors.

That’s a WHOLE LOTTA flavor, friends! Let me break it down for you!

The Fennel is lovely. I was sort of confused when I saw it was the first ingredient on the list of many. I assumed it would be a BUNCH of Fennel and then everything else. The Fennel flavor was in attendance and played well with others but it wasn’t the focal point of the whole song and dance.

The Anise and Cinnamon paired well together like it usually seems to. Again – it played a roll – but not the only roll.

The Lime Blossoms and Lemongrass provided a simple yet flavorful lemon-lime flavor – more on the floral side and not-so-much the puckery citrus side.

The Cumin and Turmeric join forces to come up with an unexplainable flavor to add to this already complex blend of flavors. And I’m glad they did!

The Cardamom and Pistachios are next up to bat! They add a little nuttiness and a little creaminess to the over all flavor – but not TOO much – just a spec of it!

Here is where the Peppermint comes into play, too! I thing it acts as a YIN and a YANG for the Cumin and Turmeric. It’s very subtle but plays an important yet slight cooling roll, here!

Then there are the rest of the blossoms, leaves, and flowers. Yup! Just enough floral flavor to keep you guessing!

Like I said this is layer after layer of flavor complexity and I really appreciate all that went into this blend of an herbal tisane. I have to say that it’s VERY tasty for an herbal tisane and VERY comforting. There are LOTS of great ingredients in there and I’m pretty darn impressed!

Waking Up With A Strong Cuppa Chai from Chai Safari. . . . .

Assam Masala Chai from Chai Safari. Rarely do I need to step back and have multiple go-arounds with a tea before I come to a conclusion of how I feel about it. But this was in that rare group of teas that I had to put in that basket.

I literally couldn’t BELIEVE just how strong this chai was when I tasted it! I thought maybe I used way too much of the loose leaf. That isn’t unusual for me – because I LOVE a really LOUD tea – so I tend to double the amount of loose leaf and cut the steep/infusion time in half. Word to the wise…YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THAT WITH THIS CHAI! You don’t even have to do that with this chai if you think you should! Seriously! It’s peppy enough on it’s own! Low and Slow here people! Low and Slow! Use the suggested amount of loose at the appropriate time and ENJOY! No need to over shoot! It’s EXTREMELY SPICY on it’s own! If this isn’t the spiciest chai I have had – it’ HAS to be up there!

The Assam is strong but the chai spices are even stronger! It infuses to a VERY dark cup with EXTREME aroma to match! This chai isn’t for the wimps, the wusses, and the faint of heart! This is for the seasoned chai crowd! It’s for the bold and the strong! It’s for the durable and daring! If this chai sounds like your cup of tea – I know you will enjoy it!

It was a surprise for me – it opened my eyes and my senses! I’m proud to be among those who have been awakened by Assam Masala Chai from Chai Safari!

Description

The Robust CTC from Assam is even more perfect with the savoury taste it offers with the combination of Ginger, Cloves and Black Pepper. The ginger and back pepper provide the strong base of spice in the tea where as the cloves give a distinct flavour and aroma to it. Its as close as one can get to having summer in a bowl. This drink is also an amazing combination for ailing cold, headaches and sore throat.

“Calm Fragrance” November 2016 Mi Xiang Oolong from Global Tea Hut. . . .

Every tea I drink is an experience but when I drink a tea from The Global Tea Hut it’s more like a meditation. “Calm Fragrance” November 2016 Mi Xiang Oolong from Global Tea Hut is the tea I am writing about at the moment.

“Calm Fragrance” November 2016 Mi Xiang Oolong from Global Tea Hut was part of the November 2016 Issue and Package. This oolong is a gently roasted oolong that – indeed – does have a calm fragrance. This oolong hails from the Mingjian, Taiwan area and is a 2016 Mi Xiang Oolong. Elevation-wise we are talking roughly 500 Meters!

Once the leaves unfurls in the strainer I was shocked at how BIG the leaves actually were. This just proves how tightly rolled the leaves were to begin with! I know it would be even more stunning to see if infused and unfurled Gongfu Style. Next time I will surely try it that way!

The color of the post-infused tea liquor was a lightly-tanned brown. The natural flavor is absolutely delicious! This will certainly be going on a future Top Ten List of mine!

The flavor on the tongue is of medium strength but there are equal parts woodsy and sweet happening. I can’t decide which part of the sip I enjoy more!

Blueberry Matcha Green Tea from Simpson & Vail. . . . .

I’ve had my eye on Simpson & Vail’s Blueberry Matcha Green Tea for a while. Guess what? We finally got our hands on it! YAY! It was well worth the wait, too!

Matcha, Blueberry Flavor, and Cane Sugar are the 3 ingredients in Blueberry Matcha Green Tea from Simpson & Vail. One of the most important things I need to mention in this review is that the use of the cane sugar is perfectly done. Many flavored matchas tend to over do it with the sugar or sweetener. Not Simpson & Vail! They used this cane sugar to accompany NOT overstep and it’s much appreciated!

The Blueberry flavor is nicely done, too! It’s a pleasing medium-strength blueberry flavor. The sugary-sweet blueberry taste is what lingers well after the last sip.

The Matcha base they use is top notch when it comes the the taste quality, too! I can’t wait to try the other flavored matchas S&V offers. Be on the look out for the Vanilla one, specifically!
