Tangerine Green from Prestogeorge. . . .

Ahhhh! Another TWO firsts for me! This is the first time I have tried this tea and the first time I have tried any teas from THIS company! Tangerine Green from Prestogeorge! Come to find out Prestogeorge is based in Pittsburgh which is just under 3 hours from where I live. WHY haven’t I known this before now?

I will say that the aroma of this flavored green tea is VERY mellow. Barely-there, even! I was expecting something more potent. But it all worked out! I mean this is a nice flavored green tea eventho the aroma and the flavor is on the mellower side.

Prestogeorge says its the goodness of pan fired green tea paired with orange peel, safflowers, marigolds and orange tangerine flavor. I will say that I think the pan fried green tea leaves were of exceptional quality. Just the way I like them! Pressed to perfection! Again – the orange-tangerine flavor whispered its way thru the cuppa but certainly made my tongue HAPPY!

I’ve been told by more than one person that this is excellent iced or hot. I, for one, can agree that my HOT cuppa certainly STOOD UP! Next I would LOVE to try it iced but I already know I will adore it! YUM!

Chocolate Covered Almond from DAVIDsTea

It seems like forever ago since I drank a tea from David’s Tea. Today I’m sharing with you their Chocolate Covered Almond flavored Black Tea. This tea is NOT currently listed on their website but according to the package does NOT contain dairy.

It claims that this is sweet, crunchy, and totally addictive. I would certainly agree that it IS a tasty treat! Cocoa, Carob, and Almonds are the addictive trinity here, friends! This tea also contains yerba mate, sugar, and flavorings.

Aside from the yummy-goodness of the flavor of this tea I have to say that I was overly impressed that it contained a black tea and Yerba Mate blended base. Because it had so much flavor it was hard to pick out the Yerba Mate flavor by itself but I appreciate that it was in there, regardless!

It’s sweet, bold, creamy, nutty, tasty, and certainly satisfies the sweet tooth on occasion.

Indian Masala Chai from Storehouse Tea. . . .

Indian Masala Chai. I have had a number of them. But Indian Masala Chai from Storehouse Tea is something to put on your most beloved tea shelf! It’s not TOO spicy but the spice seems JUST RIGHT for my palate and perhaps for yours, too! There is a certain amount of SMOOTHNESS that comes along with this one, too! Mysterious but NOT unheard of. It’s ALMOST like it has a HINT of vanilla or cream in there but it doesn’t!

As a matter of fact the ingredients in this loose leaf chai include Fair Trade Organic black tea leaves, Organic green cardamom, and Organic cinnamon, Organic ginger, and Organic clove, Organic whole pod cardamom and Organic Black Pepper.

I’m not sure how they did it but they did! There is that bit of smoothness – or creaminess – that helps round everything out in this chai! It’s a glorious thing, really!

Storehouse Tea says their Indian Masala Chai is a robust and classic full flavored black tea blended with traditional whole Indian Masala spices, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and clove. They also say this tea is bold and stimulating. I would agree!

Finally they say that Masala Chai should be brewed strong and served sweet with milk when hot or pour it over ice as a chilled Chai tea latte. This is where I differ. But that is the beauty of tea. We have choices – differences – preferences – favorites – habits – and ways of doing things that make it our own. I, for one, had this chai straight-up with nothing added and loved it just as much as the next person! I raise my cup to you – Storehouse Teas! Another fantastic offering!

Turmeric & Spice Black Tea from Steeped Tea. . . .

Turmeric. It’s starting to become a game here at SororiTea Sisters. If we see a Turmeric Tea – we have to get our hands on it – and try it! At least a few of the SororiTea Sisters are a bit more than obsesses with Turmeric lately and if you are, too, then you might get a kick out of this tea from Steeped Tea. Turmeric & Spice Black Tea from Steeped Tea, that is.

With a name like Turmeric & Spice Black Tea – of course you could assume it would have black tea and turmeric and you would be right. Other ingredients include orange peel, ginger bits, pink peppercorns, coriander, cardamom, chili loops, and marigold blossoms. I will say that the ginger bits do have a gentle dusting of sugar on them.

This is a very spicy flavored black tea. If you are into Chai Tea you will most likely enjoy this tea! The peppercorns are plentiful but so are the other spices. The spice is a combo of peppery-spice and herbal-spice. The addition of the orange peel is more of a back-up singer to the spices but I can’t imagine this flavored black tea with out that bit of citrus! It really takes it to the next level for me! It doesn’t have as much turmeric as other teas I have tried but it is sprinkled in there nicely among the other loose leaf ingredients.

1 teaspoon at 2 or 3 minutes is all you need here, folks! If you are ready for an eye-opening turmeric tea experience – try Turmeric & Spice from Steeped Tea! It’s a goodie!

Birthday Tea Party from Oh You TEAse!

I always enjoy a good vanilla blend. Whether its black tea, green tea, oolong…I almost always love it if it includes vanilla. This birthday blend by Oh You TEAs is no exception. It smells like vanilla cake and tastes that way too.

When I first opened the packet I had no idea what I was looking at. Upon further investigation (google), I learned that this is a mix of black tea and heather flowers! I didn’t know what heather flowers were so I googled that, too. Once I did I realized I have seen them many times! They are tall and purple with little buds. Interesting! A very unique ingredient.

This tea was very straightforward. I got what I was expecting: vanilla. I don’t know if I would say that there was much more to it than that, though. Aside from the heather flowers, which did not add much flavor, I cant say I detected anything other than black tea and vanilla bean. This is neither a bad thing or a good thing. The cup was quite enjoyable. If you want something complex, this is not the tea for you. But if you want a good ‘ol vanilla flavored tea, this would be perfect for you. Its sweet, smooth, and vanilla-y!

Nothing says birthdays like a classic vanilla cupcake. Think of the heather flowers as the sweet, delicate sprinkles. Some say this is better than the real thing because this treat is virtually calorie-free – have as much as you’d like!
