Orchid Oolong from Art of Tea is one of those Oolong Teas I have had more than once throughout my Tea Loving Life. There is a strong possibility that I have reviewed this one elsewhere at some point and time.
Regardless some ‘classic choices’ deserve to be revisited time and time again and that is exactly how I feel about this tea.
If you’re looking for a solid Oolong to share with the masses – this one has to be right up there! The natural aroma is that of lilac and the texture on the tongue is a buttery, fresh feeling that last long after the sip.
I feel like I’m almost THERE right smack-dab in the middle of Taiwan – covered in a cool mist and surrounded by crisp streams – just like this tea leaf would be. Art of Tea says the tea leaves are hand-picked and basket-tossed and then rolled into kernels that wait to unfold in your teapot. What an experience!
Here’s the scoop!
Leaf Type: Oolong
Where to Buy: Art of Tea
Description
Our Orchid Oolong tea is grown in the hilltops of Nantou, Taiwan. Often covered in cool mist and surrounded by crisp streams, the leaves are hand-picked and basket-tossed in a process known as oxidization. They are then rolled into kernels that wait to unfold in your teapot. The resulting tea has a unique lilac flavor that is full and smooth, with a fresh orchid finish. It can be steeped multiple times (each time unlocking a different taste).

Harmutty Golden Delight Black Tea from Tea Swan. . . . .
You or someone you know is probably a tea fan – at least that is why I assume you have stopped by The Sororitea Sisters site today! But if you just happen to also be a wine fan you might also be smitten by this Harmutty Golden Delight Black Tea from Tea Swan review today.
Harmutty Golden Delight Black Tea from Tea Swan is a special variant of Assamese tea with golden-rimmed whole leaves that were picked during the 2nd flush. When the leaves are soaked in hot water – they make a bright copper concoction that smells of fine grapes. The fragrant tea leaves give an aroma of raisins and tobacco. The result? A brew that is rich and glows with a copper color. Upon my sip – I found this to be robust and noticed a mild – yet welcoming – astringency balanced by malty tones..
According to Tea Swan…Harmutty Golden Delight Black Tea of Assam is the healthiest choice for tea-lovers and pairs well with a hearty breakfast for a bold start to your day. I’d have to say that I agree!

Thurbo Estate, Darjeeling-First Flush 2017 from Yatra Tea Company. . . .
Thurbo Estate Darjeeling Black Tea is the first tea I have tried from this company. The company I’m writing about today is Yatra Tea Company. As stated this is a stand alone, straight-up, natural black tea. It was harvested in April of 2017 and it’s absolutely delightful! The estate this tea hails from is Thurbo Estate.
Thurbo has flourished in the idyllic Mirik Valley in Darjeeling since 1872. The combination of premium China and Assam hybrids, strewn across the almost 450 hectares of growing area, with the indigenous varietal, results in a remarkable tea with unique character. Coupled with the typical climate of a hilly area – cooler temperature and diffused sunlight – the result is truly unparalleled.
My personal method of steeping for this tea was a little over a tablespoon of the loose leaf in an over-sized mug and I infused the lovely leaves for about 3 minutes.
I agree with the company’s product description that this tea gives off a light golden liquor, sweet aroma, and has a smooth, balanced, fruity floral flavor. I highly recommend this tea!

Downton Abbey Lady Cora’s Evening Herb Tea from The Republic of Tea. . .
I smell Valerian Root…was the very first thing I thought when opening this single serve tea bag. Isn’t that funny that you can identify one lonely ingredient when it’s mixed in with others? Perhaps it’s because Valerian Root smells like feet – I don’t know! (Insert Sitcom Style Canned Laugh here)
Ingredients for Downton Abbey Lady Cora’s Evening Herb Tea from The Republic of Tea include: Lemon balm, linden flower, orange blossoms, chamomile, lavender flower, skullcap, passion flower and Valerian Root. None of which are on my personal faves list when chatting about or sipping on teas and tisanes but they seemed to work well here.
This caffeine-free blend of chamomile and lemon balm will calm the mind and body. The product description says these relaxing botanicals create a cup of tranquility that helps ease the nerves and is a nice bedtime herbal.
I still have yet to watch this series! I know – I know…what is WRONG with me, eh?
For those of you who don’t already know it’s an award-winning TV series, that has entranced millions of viewers and become a modern media sensation. Every episode is an explosion of drama, relationships and intrigue. Downton Abbey is home to the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants. From the pen of Academy Award® winner Julian Fellowes, Downton Abbey is the most watched drama ever on PBS!
I wonder if this is one of The Republic of Teas’ most sipped on herbals?

Mint Green Oolong from My Green Teapot. . . . .
If memory serves – this is my very first experience of sipping on a tea from My Green Teapot – and I’m very excited!
Mint Green Oolong from My Green Teapot is the tea I’m kicking things off with and I have to say I’m already a fan! Talk about great first impressions!
Many of you know I’m freakishly into mint! I absolutely LOVE mint! The minty-freshness…oooooo…..ahhh! So when I saw that this Oolong Tea was mint flavored I automatically jumped for joy and then ran over to my hot water apparatus and started heating!
The fairly intense mint flavor paired perfectly with the natural Oolong punch of the leaf. The first infusion was completely impressive and the 2nd infusion also packed a powerful minty punch.
For me – this was the BEST first choice to make a first impression of My Green Teapot’s company and tea offerings! I can’t want to try their other offerings but I’m a little frightened that I won’t be able to find another one that blows this out of the (tea) water! The more I sip on this the more I adore it!
While sipping on this tea I decided to visit their website and noticed they SPECIALIZE in High Mountain Flavored Green Oolongs! WOW! How glorious! I can’t wait to try the rest of their flavors!
