I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I am a huge fan of The Republic of Tea. I love every flavor I’ve tried, and I love the tins that it comes in.
Although I have been cutting caffeine out of my life, this morning is a grey, rainy dreary morning and I needed a little kick. I usually like my fruity teas cold, but this was the only caffeinated tea I had, so I brewed myself a warm cup.
This tea is amazing! It tastes really good warm, I’m enjoying it which is a surprise to be honest!
The ginger kind of balances out the sweetness of the pineapple. It’s really well balanced, the pineapple isn’t too sweet, and the ginger isn’t too spicy. It’s a perfect cup of tea. It’s tropical without being too tropical if that makes sense. I don’t feel like I’m drinking a pina colada!
This is a tea that is delicious warm, and I’m sure would be very refreshing iced. I will be making a batch of iced pineapple ginger tea very, very soon. It’s reminding me of something I’ve had in the past and I just can’t put my finger on it. It’s smooth and flavorful, and since it’s green tea it has just a small amount of caffeine. I feel peppier and cheerful on this grey, rainy day which I needed. I’m imagining a sunny, tropical island and not a raindrop in sight!
If you haven’t tried Republic of Tea yet, I can’t recommend them enough. They make really stellar teas in a range of flavors. They have black teas and green teas and herbal teas. Anything you could imagine they have.
They’re on of my favorite tea companies!

Bengal Spice from Celestial Seasonings. . . . .
I have been a fan of Celestial seasonings tea for as long as I can remember. It is a part of my childhood memories as my mom drank it and it was always in our cupboards. My mom would always give me Celestial Seasonings chamomile tea when I was sick. But somehow I’ve never tried their Bengal Spice tea.
The other day I was picking up some groceries, and I saw a sale on Celestial Seasonings tea that was too good to resist. I saw that Bengal Spice was caffeine free, and when I read the list of spices it seemed like an herbal Chai. I’ve mentioned quite a few times that I love all things Chai, so I just knew I had to try this blend!
I made my tea just as I would a regular Chai, with a little raw sugar and a splash of almond milk. It does remind me of Chai, but even more than Chai it reminds me of another childhood favorite, those cinnamon hard candies. I think they’re made by Brach’s? I used to love, love love those candies. I also love Big Red gum, and before I worried about things like red dye #40 I loved Hot Tamales. I’m a cinnamon girl! This tea tastes like all the best cinnamon things made into a delicious tea! But it’s nice and balanced, the cinnamon isn’t jarring, and it doesn’t taste fake in anyway. It’s just a really delicious, cinnamon-y cup of tea. Perfect for a cool rainy morning which has been every morning this week.
I definitely continue to be a fan of Celestial Seasonings, and I see this tea having a permanent spot on my tea shelf!

Moroccan Mint from Ceremonie. . . . .
I’ve had plenty of mint tea, just mostly peppermint or just a generic mint with peppermint and spearmint leaves. Moroccan mint tea sounded very fancy, and I was super excited to try it. I learned that this tea is gunpowder green tea and spearmint tea, so like many other mint teas it isn’t caffeine free.
The first thing I noticed was how mild the mint flavor is. Don’t get me wrong, you can taste the mint but it is a very mild almost sweet flavor. I really like it. It doesn’t have that sharp, almost bitter flavor that some mint teas have.
Since it is spring, and along with all the beauty of flowers blooming come allergies, I found this to be very soothing on my stuffy nose. I also enjoyed the little energy boost from the green tea because allergies can sometimes make me feel a little drowsy. This was a delicious and very refreshing way to start my day. I feel like mint tea is such a great tea to have first thing in the morning as it gently wakes up all your senses. It kind of calmly welcomes you to your day.
My first experience with mint tea was years ago when I was fighting my coffee addiction, and I discovered mint yerba mate. I remember feeling like it was such a nice, gentle way to wake up as opposed to the aggressive kick you get from coffee. It really helped me through some rough times, and this Moroccan mint tea reminded me of that revelation. I really enjoyed this, and I think anyone who loves mint tea would love it as well!

Apple Mango Sangria from Steeped Tea. . . .
I was a little nervous to try this tea for a couple of reasons. The first being while I love mangoes, I don’t always like mango flavored things. And the second reason being that to me apple and mangoes seemed like an odd pairing.
I made a batch of this tea on ice, because I definitely prefer my fruity teas cold for some reason. What can i say, when I’m wrong I admit it. I had no reason to be nervous, this blend is really fruity and very, very refreshing. The apple and mango kind of blend together to just give this very fruity and naturally sweet flavor that I can’t really describe. I wouldn’t say it tastes specifically like apples or mangoes, but it just tastes really darn good. There is a recipe on their website for an actual sangria with wine, apples and mangoes plus this tea. I can only imagine how incredibly delicious that would be on a warm summer day. I might have to try that recipe out this summer minus the wine.
This tea absolutely needed no sweetener, it was very naturally sweet. As far as fruity teas go, this is hands down the best I’ve ever tried. I came home the other day after doing a lot of walking in warmer weather, and i was pretty dehydrated. I poured myself a glass of this and was instantly cooled and refreshed.
If you like fruity tea, you will absolutely love this tea. I would imagine that it’s really tasty warm, but seriously it is the best iced. With warmer days coming up, this will be a staple in my kitchen!

Velvety Vanilla Chai from Twinings. . . . . . .
A dear friend who lives in England sent me some teas in the mail, and they’re all teas I’ve never had. The first tea I decided to try is of course Chai. I can never resist a good Chai. With a name like velvety vanilla, how could I not try it? It is a Chai made with black tea, but I threw my caffeine caution to the wind and brewed a cup. This morning was grey and cool so I needed the extra lift anyway.
Awhile back I tried a vanilla Chai and the vanilla flavor tasted very chemical-y. It tasted like the imitation vanilla flavoring with alcohol in it. That is not the case with this vanilla chai. The vanilla flavor is natural tasting and perfectly balanced with the other chai spices. And the vanilla doesn’t overpower the other spices, and vice versa. This was absolutely delicious, I have no complaints at all. It was as close to a perfect cup of tea as you can get.
This flavor is a limited edition flavor, and I really wish it were widely available year round. It is really a special and delicious tea, and it was worth every drop of caffeine! There are a few online shops selling this delicious flavor, and I can’t recommend it enough! It’s definitely my new favorite chai. Because of the vanilla, I only added a splash of coconut milk and no sweetener and it was still perfectly sweet and delicious. It’s also mildly spiced, so for anyone sensitive to spice this would be perfect!
