I have been a fan of Yogi teas for quite awhile. I discovered this skin detox tea a few years ago, and I love it so much. It tastes a little sweet, a little floral-y, and very refreshing. The rose seems to balance out the hibiscus, so there is none of the hibiscus tartness. It tastes delicious hot or iced.
As far as the benefits to the skin, I really do notice that my skin has an extra glow after drinking this. The results are almost immediate. I enjoy the taste and the benefits of this tea. I like to have a cup in the winter, especially if I’ve been out and about on a cold, blustery day and my skin feels damaged and dry from the cold.
If you enjoy Jasmine green tea, you’ll probably really love this delicious blend from Yogi Tea.

Mandarin Masala Chai (powder) from Blue Lotus
Fall is time for Chai. Fall and winter is when I want to start my day with the warm spiciness of a good cup of Chai. While everyone else is craving all things pumpkin, I’ll be over here drinking Chai.
I always use Chai teabags, but over the years I have seen powder Chai mixes pop up, I think even Trader Joe’s has one, but they all have milk in them, and so as a vegan those are no good to me. But this Blue Lotus chai powder has no milk. It’s just powdered black tea, spices, including citrus blend and that’s it. You just mix it with boiling water, and you’re sweetener and milk of choice. The directions say to use 1/8 of a teaspoon, which I did for my first cup. For my second cup I added a tiny amount more. When you’re stirring the water in, it kind of foams up like a latte. I tasted the tea before adding anything, and I was surprised by the very subtle citrus taste. It goes well with the all the other spices. I added a teaspoon of coconut sugar and a splash of coconut milk, and had an amazing experience. This made me feel warm and cozy, and was a wonderful way to start my day. The spice is subtle, which is why I added a bit more for my second cup, but it’s balanced and delicious. Nothing stands out, all the spices work together.
The convenience of a mix is nice, and it’s wonderful that there is a vegan version!

Caramel Walnut Shortbread from Simpson and Vail
The first thing i noticed about this green Rooibos blend is that it smelled rich and coffee like. In fact, it reminded me of a flavored coffee I used to buy, maybe caramel or something? I can’t remember because it’s been so long since I’ve bought coffee! But this tea made me want a cup as soon as I smelled it.
I would serve this tea to die hard coffee drinkers that can’t imagine why people drink tea. This tea has a rich, deep and sweet flavor. I can really taste the caramel and walnut flavors. It is naturally sweet, so I didn’t even use any coconut sugar. I used a splash of coconut milk, and savored every sip. I have never had green Rooibos tea, but after drinking this I looked into it, and apparantly it has a more delicate flavor, which makes sense to me. I like Rooibos tea, but it does have a distinct flavor that I definitely didn’t taste in this blend.
This might be my favorite tea that I’ve tried so far. Like ever. It’s a perfect dessert tea because of course it’s rich and sweet, but also Rooibos is naturally caffeine free, so it won’t affect your sleep. I cannot recommend this delicious, decadent tea enough!

Featuring another delicious caffeine-free addition to our Dessert Tea line. This new blend was easy for us to agree on. This green Rooibos blend brews to an amber cup with a nutty, buttery taste and deep caramel overtones. A delectable brew that needs no sweeteners.
When I asked Jim for his feedback on this blend he gave it to me along with this “4 out of 4 people recommend this. I know usually it’s 4 out 5 but we didn’t like the 5th person’s comments so we threw his results out and him in the quarry”. I think this caffeine free blend might be just what Jim needs this afternoon!
Ingredients: Organic Green Rooibos, flavoring, safflower blossoms, and orange blossoms.

Thyme Chai from Balcony Teas
When I first saw this, I thought it had to be a mistake. When I think of traditional chai tea, I think cinnamon and anise and all those sweet, warming spices, and I just can’t imagine thyme lingering in the mix. I love thyme when I’m cooking up some hearty, savory dishes, but in tea?
I resisted trying this tea for awhile because well, fear. But finally, I decided to open my mind and give it a try. This chai is less cinnamon-y, and more vanilla-y.
As a matter of fact, it has none of the usual chai spices. But even so, vanilla and thyme? I learned that there is no reason to be scared. The thyme adds an herb-y element to the tea, but it doesn’t taste specifically like thyme. It’s like the vanilla and the thyme merge together and make this sweet, herbaceous tea that is unusual, unexpected and totally delicious! It’s mellow, and very soothing.
According to Balcony Tea’s website, the Romans believed thyme to be a mood enhancer. Believe it or not, I did feel a little happier after having this cup.
This tea quickly went from being a tea I feared to one of my favorites. It’s a very calming cup of tea to have first thing in the morning. It kind of gently welcomes you into your day.

Coconut Matcha from 3 Leaf
I am a fan of Matcha. I love the earthy, green flavor, and I love that it’s also very good for you. This coconut matcha is for people who find the taste of matcha a little too grassy. As soon as I smelled it, I could smell the faint scent of coconut, and I knew this was going to be good.
I tried it first alone, and what I noticed right away is that it frothed up like a latte as I was adding the hot, not boiling water. I don’t have one of those whisks that I’ve seen used when making matcha, so I just stirred with a spoon as I was adding the water, and it was frothy with no clumping. I’ve had clumping issues in the past, and it isn’t pleasant. The smell is so inviting too. Just a subtle coconut-y fragrance to compliment the matcha. The taste is like the best matcha with a rich buttery hint of coconut. It’s like the coconut flavor adds a richness to this tea.
I had this a second way, in the form of a matcha latte. I made my tea, added some coconut milk and gave it a quick whiz in the blender to really make it extra frothy. This was seriously a treat. Creamy, coconut-y goodness.
The coconut flavor is subtle, but it’s there. It cuts a lot of the grassiness of the matcha. This is hands down the best matcha I’ve tried. And the fact that there are no clumps, even when you don’t have a whisk makes it even more amazing!
