Smoking Coconut Black Tea from 52Teas. . . .

I loved everything about this warming tea. I loved seeing the big coconut pieces, the delicious coconut aroma, and of course the taste. As soon as I poured the boiling water over this tea, all I could smell was coconut.

I associate coconut with all things sunny and warm, so it was very soothing on a cold, grey, snowy winter day. I added a little raw sugar and a splash of coconut milk and just enjoyed the heck out of this cup. I never thought of combining any kind of tea with coconut(other than milk) but it really works out so well.

The caffeine in the black tea helped to wake up my fuzzy brain, and the aromatherapy of the coconut helped not only wake up my senses, but put me in a mellow, peaceful frame of mind which is so important. I felt like this tea was giving me a big, welcoming wake up hug. If you love coconut, this is a tea that you need to try. It’s the kind of tea that you mourn the last sip, you just want it to last forever.

I would say this is in my top three favorite new teas I tried in 2016. Actually, I would say it’s in my top two. It’s competing with another coconut tea, matcha with coconut. I guess I just love coconut!

Tea Description:  I just wanted a tea that was coconut-y and a little bit smoky. So that’s what I did.

Sometimes, that’s what my inspiration is all about. I wanted a coconut-y tea and I thought that the combination of a lightly smoky tea with the creamy, sweet coconut flavor would be really interesting.

I started with a blend of black teas – a rich, malty Assam; a smooth, medium-bodied Ceylon and a tippy, robust Yunnan. Then I added just a teensy bit of Lapsang Souchong to give it a hint of smoke. I wasn’t going for a heavily smoked tea this time around – I didn’t want an overpoweringly smoky presence – just enough smoke to add some contrast to the silky sweet coconut flavor. Then I added a bunch of huge shreds of coconut.

The result is a sublimely yummy cuppa that you’ve gotta try. Sure, it might be a little on the ‘usual’ side especially when compared to some of the teas that we’ve made in the past but it’s no less delicious. Sometimes – going with something a little more ordinary can lead to extraordinary results!

This tea is vegan, gluten-free and all organic!

Hibiscus Fruit Punch from Hackberry Tea. . . . . .

I either love or hate hibiscus tea. Some I find way too tart, and others are perfect. I was excited to try this blend because it had fruit punch in the name. It seemed like it would be fruitier and less tart. This blend includes apples, orange peel, raspberries, lemongrass (my love) and other fruits and berries. I made a pitcher and iced it because i think iced is the only way to drink hibiscus tea.

I was not disappointed at all. It still has the typical hibiscus tartness, but the fruits balance it out. I made it with just water, no sweetener and it really doesn’t need any. I closed my eyes and sipped and imagined myself on a warm sunny beach somewhere. I may never be able to drink plain Hibiscus tea again!

The fruit makes it naturally sweet, but in no way is it cloying. And the sweetness from the fruit does not totally mask the tartness of the Hibiscus, it just compliments it. Right now we’re in the middle of winter where I live, but this tea made me feel warm and summery. I feel like this would be a very refreshing iced drink on a hot summer day.

This is also a perfect tea for anyone who wants the many health benefits of hibiscus tea, but finds it too tart. It really does taste like a very natural, organic refreshing fruit punch!! And it needs no sweetener so that makes it even better in my opinion!

If you’re like me and feeling so over winter, brew yourself some of this delicious tea, close your eyes and imagine a warm, tropical paradise!

Fruit Punch with a kick. Or maybe Fruit tea with a punch? No, Fruit Punch with a hibiscus kick. This is the best fruit tea I’ve sampled (Don’t tell Ruby Zest). It has a great blend of sweet and tart and has so much going on fruit-wise that I just had to call it fruit punch. I want to pour a glass of it iced, sit on my porch and watch the sunset.

Ginger Lemongrass from Tea Forte. . . . . .

I was gifted this adorable box of Tea Forte silken infusers tea. There are several flavors but I just can’t stop drinking the ginger lemongrass. Ginger and lemongrass are two of my favorite flavors. I’ve also been a fan of drinking ginger tea for awhile now.

Combining the two flavors is absolutely brilliant in my opinion. Everything is balanced in this blend. I can taste and smell both the ginger and the lemongrass. The ingredients include lemon peel, which complements the lemongrass. It also has spearmint leaves, so it has a very, very subtle taste of mint.

Everything about this tea is soothing. The smell is invigorating and calming, and the taste is fresh, soothing, and very calming. This is a tea you drink when you have a little bit of a stomach ache as ginger and mint are very helpful for that.

I also should mention the adorable tea bags are actually cylinders, and there is a little leaf at the end of the string that happily bobs around as your tea is brewing.

Everything about this tea is absolutely wonderful. I can’t wait to try the other flavors, maybe once I’ve had all the ginger lemongrass!

Fenhuang Oolong from FooJoy. . . . .

To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever had Oolong. Maybe once in a restaurant, but it isn’t a tea that I buy or have on hand. After tasting this Fenghuang Oolong, I realize I need to change that!

Oolong tea is lighter than black tea, but darker than green. I read up on Oolong so I could give a better review, and apparently some are sweet and fruity, some are green and fresh, and some are thick and woody with a roasted aroma. This particular Oolong is definitely woody with a roasted aroma. I had it straight, no milk or sweetener. It really didn’t need anything. It was rich and had a deep roasted flavor that I really appreciated. I seriously couldn’t get enough!

Oolong is also very good for you! I was surprised to find out that it has calcium, selenium, and also lots of vitamins! It also helps improve skin and hair health, and also aids in digestion. The more I read about Oolong tea, the more I see I’ve been depriving myself of a delicious health tonic!

I truly can’t recommend this tea enough. Oolong has caffeine and can help with mental clarity which I need on a regular basis! I really would recommend everyone to try this delicious tea. It’s both stimulating and calming. It’s the perfect beverage to warm yourself up this winter!

Dandelion Caramel Nut from Teeccino. . . . .

I first tried teeccino’s vanilla nut and fell in love. So, of course I had to try the caramel nut flavor. I really don’t know how teeccino does it, but they somehow make this delicious, caffeine free herbal tea that has the body and oomph of coffee. I’ve heard die hard coffee drinkers say they just can’t get into tea because it’s too much like dirty water. As someone who was a serious coffee drinker for years, I understand their feelings. It took me a bit of time to adjust and fall in love with tea myself.

This tea is made for those people. It is so satisfying in that unique coffee way. And it has such natural, delicious sweet flavor that very little sweetener is needed. I can taste both caramel and nuts in this brew. I love it so much. It’s actually become my favorite thing to drink in the morning. Especially as the weather is cooling down. It’s in the cooler months that I get tempted to have coffee. It’s just so soothing, and the pick me up is nice too. But now I have a cup of this with a little coconut milk and it’s better than any latte I would pay for.

Dandelion tea also has many health benefits. It also contains calcium, magnesium, iron, and vitamins B and C. Plain dandelion tea can be a bit bitter, so this is such a tasty way to get some health benefits.
