Roasted Dandelion Spice Tea from Yogi Tea. . . . .

I have looked at this tea and passed it by so many times because dandelion tea can be very strong and bitter. But dandelion tea also has amazing health benefits. Natural Grocers has been having a great sale on Yogi teas, so I decided to brave it and give it a try. It’s mixed with spices like cinnamon, clove and ginger and also cocoa shells, kind of a Chai mix.

I brewed my first cup and immediately loved the smell. It smelled nutty and slightly spicy. I added a little raw sugar and a splash of coconut creamer and took my first sip. I was very pleasantly surprised by how delicious this is! It doesn’t have any of the sharp, bitter taste I remember from plain dandelion tea. It has a roasted, nutty flavor with a slight, spicy kick. It’s pretty sweet so it doesn’t need much sweetener. I can definitely see this tea becoming a regular thing for me. When you read about the health benefits of dandelion tea, it’s pretty remarkable.

So far every Yogi tea I’ve tried has been amazing. They use organic ingredients, and compared to other organic teas they aren’t too expensive.

I should also mention that this tea has no caffeine, so it’s safe to drink at any time of the day, and it’s rich enough to help if you’re trying to cut back on coffee.

I feel better since I started drinking this, I feel like it is helping with digestion and I notice a difference in my skin too. I give this tea all the thumbs up!

Bronte Sisters’ Black Tea Blend from Simpson And Vail

The first thing I noticed about this tea was the fruity, sweet smell. It smelled much more like fruit than tea. The tea ingredients include papaya and raspberry, and also marigold petals. I brewed myself a cup, and added a little raw sugar and a splash of coconut creamer. I should have left the sugar out because it is very sweet on it’s own. Almost too sweet if I’m being honest. It definitely has a very fruity taste and perfume. I didn’t taste to any floral notes which surprised me.

I would say this would be an excellent tea for people who really enjoy sweet tea and very fruity teas. The sweetness definitely lingered on my taste buds long after drinking it. I will have to experiment and see if maybe this is more refreshing as an iced tea. I prefer fruity teas iced not hot. And I guess with black teas I like a spicier, less sweet tea. This might even be considered a dessert tea. Although vanilla isn’t listed as an ingredient, I tasted a vanilla essence in the background. As I said, this isn’t my favorite tea I’ve tried, but if you or someone you know loves dessert teas, this would definitely be worth a try

Description

The Bronte sisters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne, lived and wrote in Yorkshire, England. Born in 1816, 1818 and 1820, respectively, the sisters lived very short lives, with Charlotte living the longest at 38. During their unfortunately short lifetimes, each sister produced novels that would become cornerstones of western literature and inspire studies for generations. Emily’s Wuthering Heights, Charlotte’s Jane Eyre, and Anne’s The Tenant of Wildfell Hall each found an audience and acclaim that continues to this day. With their novels, the sisters introduced the world to a starkly honest portrayal of English womanhood that didn’t hide the ugliness and intrigue many novels of the time shied away from. Although tame by today’s standards, their inclusion of independent female characters, alcoholism, and abuse meant that the Bronte’s novels faced their share of controversy.

The Bronte family kept an orchard and garden where the sisters spent much of their time exploring, drawing, and writing. Charlotte was more inclined to draw the flowers and the plants than to stop and smell them, but Anne and Emily were happy to get their hands dirty with a little gardening. Emily especially, who was known to be a bit of a recluse, could often be found taking long walks and enjoying nature. Our Bronte Sisters tea blend combines pear, apple, and gooseberry flavors to make a sweet and fragrant blend that’s reminiscent of an orchard stroll. The flavors in this blend meld together in perfect harmony and the taste lingers deliciously on the palate.

Ingredients: Black teas, papaya pieces (papayas and sugar), flavorings, raspberry pieces, alfalfa leaves and marigold petals.

Southern Mint Herbal Tea from Revolution Tea. . . . .

I love mint tea. I love how the smell instantly revitalizes you before even taking a sip. I don’t think I’ve ever had Southern mint tea, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this tea. It’s stronger than other mint teas I’ve had, and that’s a good thing. As soon as I poured the boiling water over the tea bag, my kitchen smelled like mint. My cat was actually on the counter being a bug-a-boo, and she instantly gave me the side eye and jumped down. She’s not a fan of the smell of mint or bananas!

This tea has a strong, crisp mint flavor. It feels very soothing on my throat which feels a little dry from the dry winter air. I feel energized from this cup even though it’s caffeine free. That’s my favorite thing about mint tea is the natural lift of energy I feel when I drink it. I feel like it gives me a big hug and says, good morning friend, welcome to the world.

We all know that mint tea is good for digestion and the belly, but I just read that it can also help with headaches. I’ve been struggling with headaches for awhile, I think they’re sinus related and so I’m hoping that this delicious cup helps me with that problem.

Most mint teas I’ve had have been a mixture of peppermint and spearmint, some with lemongrass and I notice this tea is only peppermint. Maybe that’s why it’s so much stronger and brighter. It’s so refreshing! I think it would be super refreshing iced on a hot summer day. Either way hands down this is my favorite mint tea ever! I feel refreshed, energized and relaxed all at the same time. If you’re a fan of mint tea, you need this in your life!!

Chai Rooibos from Yogi Tea. . . . .

I absolutely love Yogi teas. I love the little uplifting messages on the tea bags, and I’ve never had a flavor I haven’t loved. I also love Chai tea. I’ve been cutting back my caffeine intake, with the goal to completely cut it out of my life. I was kind of nervous to try this at first because I don’t always love Rooibos. I usually drink it for the health benefits, but sometimes I find it a little too earthy for me. But Yogi teas were on a great sale at Natural Grocers so I felt brave enough to try this.

What can I say, it was love at first sip! The delicious blend of spices like cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and ginger really stand up and mask the earthiness of the rooibos leaves. It’s spicy, warming and soothing. And the earthiness of the rooibos actually compliments the spices. The tea is a lovely red hue which for some reason made it even more enjoyable to me. The spiciness is there, but not overpowering. I would call this a Chai for beginners. It wouldn’t scare away someone new to Chai.

And because it’s so similar to standard Chai made with black tea, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. And the aromatherapy woke up my senses without the caffeine. I’m very glad I tried this brew, and I will be buying it again and again. It’s a delicious, hearty and warming cup of tea that’s perfect for anytime of the day. Rooibos has so many health benefits such as aiding in digestion, anti aging, and has many minerals including calcium!!

Turmeric Lemon Ginger from Yerba Buena Tea Co. . . . .

I try to incorporate turmeric in my diet everyday for all of the amazing health benefits, so I was so happy to try this tea. And in my opinion ginger makes everything better so I had a feeling I would love this blend.

The first thing I noticed is the beautiful yellow color right away. They aren’t shy with the turmeric. As soon as i poured the hot water over the tea, I got the most wonderful smell. I could smell the lemon and the ginger and it was very soothing. This blend also has lemongrass and whole black peppercorns which are two of my favorite ingredients in tea.

This is an herbal blend, so no caffeine, but yet i still felt energized and uplifted from it.It also has licorice root which I don’t always love in teas, but luckily for me I couldn’t really taste it. Everything balanced out, and it just tastes like a lovely cup of lemon ginger tea with a little something extra.

I usually start my day with a caffeinated tea like green or yerba mate, but yesterday I started my day with this, and i didn’t feel like I needed caffeine at all! As someone who has relied on caffeine for MANY years, that is quite the feat!

Turmeric is so good for the body it’s nice to have it in such a delicious and uplifting way. This is definitely one of my new favorite teas, and I can’t recommend it enough!
