Taster’s Review:
The first time I steeped this, I steeped it the way I would normally steep a flavored green tea in my Breville One-Touch: 170°F, 2 minutes. I found that this produced a rather weak tasting cup, so, this time around, I increased the temperature slightly (to 180°F) and the steep time (to 2 1/2 minutes). Perfection!
One look at the name of this tea and one might think that there is a little too much going on. But, these flavors all play together very nicely. I like that the ginger here is zesty without producing an overwhelming amount of heat. Instead of getting too aggressive, it enhances the other flavors. The tangy notes of the orange really come through nicely, and the peach is sweet and juicy tasting. The green tea is not left behind with all these other flavors, either. It is sweet and slightly grassy, but not to the point of bitterness.
And what is so pleasant about this cup is that even though there are four main ingredients in this blend, Red Leaf Tea took the subtle approach with each one, creating a very smooth, palatable flavor. It’s gentle and calming, instilling a sort of inner peace as I drink it. Very nice, indeed.
