Sakhira Estate from Yatra Tea Company. . . .

The first thing I noticed about this tea was its light, fuzzy leaves. I got really excited, because I know that this means they were plucked at JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT when the leaf is FRESHLY, FIRST FUZZY. Is this fact upon the official site for this tea? NO. It is NOT. You got that information STRAIGHT FROM ME. YOU ARE WELCOME. Now go forth and tell everyone you know about tea fuzz.

I thought, based on the tea’s fuzzy mid-green appearance, that it’d be delicate. After steeping, the water was still really light, reinforcing that perception.

Nope! This is a potent flavor! It’s a very smooth, amber sort of flavor that’s sweet and thoughtful.

Imagine a harp and a violinist playing together at a midafternoon wedding. Everyone is dressed sharply. The feeling in the air is electric. Spring is settling into summer, and the sun is out.

It’s a beautiful afternoon for them, and for you, when you give this a whirl. The spring fuzzy leaves are carrying their sunshine into your cup.

Description

Known worldwide as home to some of the largest mountains in the world, including Mt. Everest, Nepal is an underrated tea producing nation that has started to gain some prominence among discerning tea drinkers. Nepal is comprised of 75 districts, one of which is Ilam. Ilam is located in the Mechi Zone in the easternmost part of Nepal. It borders the Darjeeling region of India, which affords it very similar soil and climatic conditions.

Approximately 12 miles from the Ilam bazaar lies the Sakhira Garden. Named for its location (Sakhejung Hill Range) this estate is relatively young, founded in 2000 by the collective efforts of a group of small farmers. The production facilities reside at 4,000 ft. while the plantations that provide tea to the factory are perched at an altitude of 6,000 ft.

With a singular focus on harvesting only the highest quality black Orthodox teas, the produce of Sakhira is poised to give the vaunted Darjeeling teas a run for their money!

Thurbo Estate, Darjeeling-First Flush 2017 from Yatra Tea Company. . . .

Thurbo Estate Darjeeling Black Tea is the first tea I have tried from this company. The company I’m writing about today is Yatra Tea Company. As stated this is a stand alone, straight-up, natural black tea. It was harvested in April of 2017 and it’s absolutely delightful! The estate this tea hails from is Thurbo Estate.

Thurbo has flourished in the idyllic Mirik Valley in Darjeeling since 1872. The combination of premium China and Assam hybrids, strewn across the almost 450 hectares of growing area, with the indigenous varietal, results in a remarkable tea with unique character. Coupled with the typical climate of a hilly area – cooler temperature and diffused sunlight – the result is truly unparalleled.

My personal method of steeping for this tea was a little over a tablespoon of the loose leaf in an over-sized mug and I infused the lovely leaves for about 3 minutes.

I agree with the company’s product description that this tea gives off a light golden liquor, sweet aroma, and has a smooth, balanced, fruity floral flavor. I highly recommend this tea!

Glenburn Estate Darjeeling from Yatra Tea Company. . . . .

Green tea is what I’ve been craving lately, so when my fellow sister, CuppaGeek, told me about this amazing tea, I just knew I had to try it.  And I have to say, this tea IS the green tea of the moment at The SororiTea Sisters. . in my opinion.

The description of this tea states that this Glenburn Estates Darjeeling has a lemon buttery flavor and they aren’t wrong.  Brewed up per the parameters provided on the package, this tea yields this lovely smooth buttery flavor with a hint of a citrus finish.  Towards the end of each sip there is this yummy and lovely vegetal feel that contrasts nicely with the buttery tone.  All the flavors do a great job of showcasing each other providing a very satisfying cuppa.

Cup after cup, sip after sip, this tea delivers.  Thanks Yatra Tea Company! This tea knocks the flavors out of the park in a wonderfully subtle and flavorful way! I spy a few other Yatra Tea Company teas that I need to try. I’m excited to see what flavors those teas yield.  On top of that, after looking at their website, Yatra Tea Company is a tea company that gives back. This is one tea company to keep your eye on for sure!

Glenburn Estate Darjeeling from Yatra Tea Company. . . .

Being one that normally grabs for flavored teas, I sometimes forget about the amazing flavors straight teas can yield.  Thankfully, Glenburn Estate from Yatra Tea Company reminded me of this fact.

Glenburn Estate (Darjeeling_ is one of the smoothest straight green teas I’ve ever had.  Full of gorgeous vibes, this tea is one that I highly recommend.

Brewed up to the parameters recommended on the package, this tea yields one of the most alluring flavors I’ve experienced.  The first infusion was full of sweet citrus silky smooth tones with a subtle vegetal hint with a buttery sense and feel through each sip.

This tea literally sings and I mean SINGS to your soul and gives you that-You must relax NOW feel.   I literally told my husband, this tea is sexy.  Not a term I use a whole lot for tea.  He took a sip and completely agreed with me.  With how rich these buttery notes are, how could he not agree with me.

I spent the evening with this tea and was insanely satisfied with cup after cup, tea pot after tea pot.  For the price and what you receive, this tea is luxury on a budget.  And I don’t mean that in a negative way.  I was actually surprised with how reasonably priced this tea was for the amazing flavors this green tea yielded.

This morning this tea was already calling me.  Brew me up and start your day off right.
