Vanilla Maple Cinnamon from Steeped Tea. . .

When I saw this tea in my review box, I had to try it right away. Any black tea blend with vanilla is usually a winner in my book. This blend by Steeped Tea is no exception. The dry leaf smells sweet, as to be expected with notes of cinnamon and maple. Once brewed, the tea is light amber in color.

At first, I wasn’t sure what to think. I couldn’t figure out what I was tasting. None of the flavors really stood out. To be honest, at first, I was a bit disappointed. As I continued to sip on this tea though, I realized that it was actually one of the smoothest flavored black teas that I’ve ever had. It’s a sweet blend but subtle in flavor. That said, the flavors come together to take any possible bitterness out of the black tea base.

If you’re looking for a tea with a strong taste of maple or vanilla, you might be let down by this. However, if you are a fan of black teas with a bit of sweetness, this is perfect. It doesn’t need an additive like cream or sugar.

All and all, I liked this tea very much. It has been discontinued by Steeped Tea, but if you can get your hands on some, I recommend that you do!

Holiday Tea Alert! Carol from Lupicia. . . . .

The holiday season for me might be a bit different than most but it’s what I call my own way of doing things. I don’t decorate. I focus on gifts for my parents, my sister and her husband, and my husband’s family does a Secret Santa of sorts. My husband and I don’t really focus on gifts for each other usually. We first and foremost make sure those on our lists are taken care of. There are a few Christmas songs I like but I don’t go CRAZY for the festiveness much anymore. I do like GIVING and that is mostly what I tend to do this time of year.

But I have to say one thing I enjoy is sampling different Holiday Tea Blends. When I heard that Carol from Lupicia was back in stock and our SororiTea Sisters had some floating around I was pretty excited about having a cup of it.

I had Carol from Lupicia YEARS ago but just had another cup recently and it was pretty yummy and comforting! The strawberry, vanilla, and rose trio of flavors blended well – so well, in fact – that it seemed to create a whole new flavor of its own! It was a bit fruity, a little creamy, and a tad floral…makes sense based on those 3 ingredients, eh?

Overall, I really like Carol from Lupicia. Oddly, with all of the tea I have drank over the years I have tried very few of the teas from Lupicia considering their very large selection. I’m always overjoyed when one of their teas comes across my desk! And let me tell you – I have more on the way – so more smiles and Lucipia cups are sure to be seen here – and soon, at Sororitea Sisters! CHEERS!

And for our readers mention SororiTea Sisters when checking out and Lupicia will add in a special treat!

Peach Vanilla Tea from Full Leaf Tea Company

You know what I LOVE? When I find a flavored tea with LARGE chunks of dried fruit in it! That happened to me recently when I infused some of Peach Vanilla Tea from Full Leaf Tea Company.

Peach Vanilla Tea from Full Leaf Tea Company is pretty incredible. I’m going to come right out and say that early on in peachvanillatea2this review! The peach was REAL. I was able to see LARGE CHUNKS of Peach in this loose leaf. The dried peach was real, true, and flavorful. There was a lovely vanilla flavor that was also REAL instead of a chemical type taste or alcohol type taste.

The vanilla made this sweet and creamy and the peach made it sweet and juicy. The black tea base was top-notch, too! It was a darker black tea base that was on the sweeter side verses a malty or woodsy side. The black tea was of medium strength but blended well with the peach and vanilla flavors. I would change anything about Peach Vanilla Tea from Full Leaf Tea Company. It’s a MARVY flavored black tea!

Organic Vanilla Almond Sachet from Boston Tea Company

This morning my tea infusers are all full of teas that I plan to re-steep but don’t currently feel like drinking, so I decided that now is the perfect time to try this tea, which comes in a handy and elegant pyramid-shaped sachet. I steeped it for five minutes, which I spent wondering if it would taste like a baked good. I mean, vanilla and almond flavoring are two of the most common flavorings for cookies and stuff, right?

Upon tasting it, I found the flavor pleasantly sweet even before I added milk and sugar. I found that because of its natural sweetness it didn’t require very much sugar. I think the flavor goes perfectly with milk, though, and the aroma and aftertaste are just as nice as the actual taste, which is a big plus. I was happy that it didn’t leave an odd aftertaste like some teas do. Instead, my mouth felt fresh and almondy after each sip.
The steeping recommendations said to steep this tea for 3-5 minutes. I allowed the relatively light color to fool me into thinking it needed to be steeped for longer, so I opted for 5 minutes rather than 3. I think this was a mistake because I couldn’t easily the vanilla through the almond. It still tasted great, but if you’re hoping to taste the vanilla you might want to not steep it quite so long. I tried a second steeping and it came out a bit more balanced after 3.5 minutes. So it seems you can adjust the steeping times based on how strong you like your almond flavoring and what flavor balance you prefer.
All in all, this was a sweet, pleasant, friendly tea. I enjoyed it as a breakfast tea and I think it would be great as a dessert tea as well.
