Taster’s Review:

If someone were to say “we’re having proper English Tea” – this is the tea I would envision.  It is brisk and bold… strong and stout!  It has a “chewy” texture to it with a nice malty note.  Who’d have thought you could get so much flavor from one tea bag.

But then, this is no ordinary tea bag.  This isn’t the kind of tea that I grew up with… but I wish I had, because I think I might have had a greater appreciation for tea when I was young.  As it is, my childhood memories of tea involve a little white, yellow and red wrapper, and a liquid that didn’t really taste all that good…

This is the kind of tea that one could drink in the morning to give them that encouragement to get up and go, while still being smooth enough to be enjoyed at a garden tea party with friends.  It has a bright, ambitious flavor that goes well with milk and honey, or perhaps a lump (or two) and a splash of cream.  It would also be quite nice with a thin slice of citrus.  And as my initial unadorned taste revealed, it’s also very good – albeit rather strong! – served straight without any additions.

A very pleasant … proper cuppa!
