Sunset from Salt Sisters Online.. . . .

Sunset is a herbal tisane from Salt Sisters Online. My family located it at a little shop in Bemus Point, New York, where they sold some of the Salt Sisters products. I have to say I have only ever tried two teas/tisanes from this company and I enjoy both of them. With SUNSET – I’m sure it had something to do with the LOVELY MINTINESS!

The herbal blend is made up of Balm, Peppermint, Blackberry, Lemongrass, Chamomile, and a variety of flowers.

It’s a fantastic calming offering that is for sure. They said to sip the tea that calms the mind and lets the day drift away. I think this is perfect for evenings and can be enjoyed both hot and cold.

I can’t wait to try more of the Salt Sisters offerings. I hope when I go back to the little shop in Bemus Point that I can find them there still.

40 Winks from Adagio Teas. . . .

I was really excited to try this tea. I end every night with my favorite chamomile blend tea, so I was eager to experiment with a new one. This tea is blended with valerian root, honeybush tea, chamomile flowers, spearmint leaves, passion flowers, lemon balm, lavender flowers, dried cherries & blue cornflowers. With a glace alone it seems to be the perfect night time blend.

The dry leaves didn’t smell very pleasant to me. It was flowery with an undertone of something sour or spoiled. I thought that there was no way I would like this. I was pleased to discover that when I poured some boiling water over the leaves, the scent that came to life was the scent of spearmint.

Upon taking a sip, I was again, pleasantly surprised. The notes I picked up on the most was the lavender and the spearmint. The taste was minty and a touch floral. It truly was lovely. I was getting a bit of an odd aftertaste and I can only guess that was from the valerian root or dried cherries.

Ultimately though, I will be purchasing this tea to add to my stash. It tasted great overall and I did sleep very well last night! If you’re interested in trying this tea from Adagio Teas, you can purchase it as a part of their Day and Night gift set.

Taster’s Review:

Chamomile is one of those ingredients that people either love or hate.  I am in the pool of tea drinkers that love it.  I drink it all hours of the day, not just night time.  Chamomile blends iced are delicious and I love drinking it after a larger lunch, like today. I ate just a bit too much so I reached for this tea, hoping it might help.

I brewed this up with boiling water and steeped it for 5 minutes. Then I allowed this to cool off so I could add ice for an iced tea treat.

How did it taste? This was quite good.  This definitely isn’t an ordinary chamomile tea blend.  I love the additions of the lemongrass and the coconut.  The flavors give this blend a unique flavor.  What I really take away from this tea is the creamy silk like texture that I’m getting.  Very good.  I don’t really pick up the stevia and the chicory gives the tea a hint of a roasted profile.  The licorice adds in a hint of sweeetness.  This is a keeper!
