Peach and Apricot Green Tea from Long Dog Tea Co. . . .

Peaches and apricots just scream all things happy and bright so when I was having a particularly low day the other day, this was the tea I grabbed for. And I’m so happy I did.

Peach and Apricot Green Tea is a lovely tea blend of gunpowder green tea, peach, and apricot flavorings.  First of all, this tea had me at gunpowder but with the promise of peaches and apricots, this tea was giving me those tea tingles. You know. Those tingles you get when you try a tea for the first time and you know its going to be love.

Brewed up with green tea parameters and allowed to steep for 3 minutes and cooled for another two.  Fresh fruity notes were already in the air and I couldn’t wait to see if what I was smelling would translate into the same flavor.

First sip in, you are greeted with this gorgeous lovely peach and subtle apricot flavor followed up with a sturdy familiar gunpowder green tea flavor.  Not so much the smoky tones of gunpowder tea but more or less just a there is a green tea flavor here and not in the vegetal way.  Quite simply, this tea is delicious and provides a perfect contrast without being overpower by fruity notes or the natural green tea flavor. I’m quite in love and enamored over this tea.

With the little sample I had, I was able to pull out a few infusions and was delighted.

This tea would be a perfect companion for any season and I can’t wait to gobble up more so I can enjoy a lighter tea with the onset of fall chais coming our way.  If you aren’t familiar with Long Dog Tea Co., check them out! Their logo alone makes me smile.

AMERICAN DREAM : PEACHES & CREAM from Impeach Tea. . . .

I used to think that I didn’t like black teas until I tried a peach flavored tea. Then, I fell in love with black teas, especially ones that are sweet and fruity. So, obviously when I saw this American Dream: Peaches & Cream tea, I thought that it would quickly become one of my favorites. I was right.

Dry, the leaf smells vaguely sweet. It’s nothing to write home about. Brewed up, however, it smelled just like a fresh peach. Sometimes flavored teas smell a lot better or stronger than they taste, but I’m happy to say that with this tea, that isn’t the case. The first note I got when I sipped on this tea was juicy peach, followed by a mellow cream flavor.

The thing that I appreciated most about this tea is that the peach didn’t get lost in the sweetness of cream. The peach flavor is still the star of this tea, with a touch of cream flavor to balance it out and make it really smooth.

This was my first time trying Impeach Teas and I know I will have to pick up more. This blend is very well balanced and an extremely enjoyable cuppa.

Decaf Momo from Lupicia. . . .

Before going into this, I want to preface this review by stating (1) I don’t usually like decaffeinated blends and (2) I tend to usually not enjoy Lupicia’s black base. So, this is not a tea I would have ever picked for myself despite enjoying other Momo teas, but it was shared with me by a tea friend and for that reason alone, it is worth a try. Alright, so let’s get started.

Decaf Momo is a white peach tea on a decaffeinated black tea base. The smell of both the dry and steeped blend is mouthwatering, like a juicy and fresh peach. Thankfully, that transfers over to the taste as well. The base only contributes a slight briskness that blends to the peach flavor. I suppose something about either the decaffeinating process or the strong taste of the peach has hidden the usually astringent base making for a tea that is actually quite nice.

Obviously going into this, I did not have high hopes. I am happy to report that my worries were unfounded as this, like the other variety of Momo teas Lupicia offers, is a great peach offering for those looking for a tea with that flavor. Plus, being decaffeinated, it is a tea that can be enjoyed anytime of day.

Peach Black Blend from Zen Tea Bar. . . .

In my recent July tea box from Zen TeaBar, there were four main teas to enjoy.  One particular blend caught my eye instantly, Peach Black Blend, a blend from Zen TeaBar themselves.  So far from what I’ve experienced from Zen TeaBar, they cultivate a tea box for you, allowing you the chance to check out teas from companies you may have never heard of or just haven’t taken the plunge and made an order from.

Peach Black Blend is a brilliant Sri Lankan black tea, dried fruit like papaya and peach, blackberry leaves, and calendula petals.  When I first opened up the pouch of tea, rich peachy notes instantly filled the air.  Team that up with a malty black tea and papaya, you have yourself a wonderful treat.

Brewed with fresh boiled water and allowed to steep for a 3 minutes and allowed to cool for about 5, this tea is a peach lover’s dream.  First sip in and you are greeted with this sweet definite peach flavor with a wonderfully seductive malty black tea background.   Really nice and a great balance between the added in flavor components and the black tea itself.

As an iced tea, I greedily gobbled this tea down.  Still those same black tea malty notes but the peach notes are amped up and really are the driving force yielding such a sweet flavor that makes you want to enjoy the last few days of summer we have in style.

I’m super excited about this tea blend and am sad to say, this pouch didn’t last very long.  But I am quite excited to see if my September box will also feature a Zen TeaBar blend. . .I sure hope so!

Spritz of Glitz from Tea and Tins. . .

What attracted me to this tea was the little silver candies. I’m sucker for sprinkles!

This was a very striking blend with the silver gleaming against the dark green tea leaves. While the name of the blend is ‘pear,’ the dry blend and wet leaves had more of a peach aroma to me. If you are familiar with Sour Peaches, it smelt like that!

However, when I went in to sip the liquor, I got a whiff of pear. There was a rich pear flavour from the liquor as well. Since the blend leaned towards sweet, it reminded me of pear candy instead of freshly picked pears. I kept getting a mixture of pear and peaches in my mouth.

This yellow liquor tea is for pear (and peach) lovers!
