Soothing Chamomile from Balcony Teas. . . .

This is one of the only teas in my current review box that came in a sachet, and I’m so glad that it did! The visual presentation of the pyramid sachet with the large floral accents within this blend made this tea a beautiful pre-brew piece of art. This blend has a distinctive chamomile aroma due to the fact that this blend has the full chamomile flower. In addition to the visual of the chamomile flower, you can also see the lime flower that is included in this blend. The sachet that Balcony Tea uses for this blend is an exceptional choice as the smallest tea leaves did not get into my brew, but this particular sachet also allows for an even flow of water to the leaves and provides an option for those of us who need to brew on the go.

I opted for this tea as we’d had a tantrum filled night at my house with a toddler who was still testing the ability to stay up as late as she wanted. Once brewed, I continued to be able to smell both the chamomile as well as the wildflowers included in this blend. I was able to enjoy this blend straight or with a splash of honey. Balcony Tea does suggest that you do not add milk to this blend, and I would agree as I think the milk would mask some of the brilliant (but delicate) flavors in this tea. This was great for both calming my nerves after a rough day and getting me ready to relax in bed. Great chamomile blend!

Orange Dreamsicle from Wise Ape Tea Co. . .

I have searched and for the most part in vain- for a tea that tasted like an orange dreamsicle.  Growing up, that was my favorite summer treat so to have a tea to remember those summer childhood memories without the calories, well that would be just dandy!

Upon first sniff, this tea smells all sorts of citrus and vanilla.  I couldn’t wait to see if the sweet alluring aromas matched how this tea would taste.

Brewed with fresh prepped water and allowed to brew for about 5 minutes, I eagerly took my first sip and WOW! This tea pops of fresh orange and vanilla creamy like notes with this gorgeous herbaceous undertone.  First you get a true orange flavor, nothing artificial or chemical tasting, with this swirling lush vanilla twist with this chamomile herbal finish.  Sip after beautiful sip, this tea is perfection in a cup!

This tea tastes exactly like it should with a name like Orange Dreamsicle with a chamomile finish that I’m adoring.  If you haven’t experienced teas from Wise Ape Tea, I highly encourage you to.  Their teas are fresh, full of flavor, and are good for you.   Each blend has special herbs and inclusions that help make these teas more like what I consider wellness teas.  A lot of these teas in this category really do not have the best flavor, but these blends just hit the spot. Plus, these teas all benefit different charities with how Wise Ape Tea Co pays it forward.

I’ve always been a big fan of their Chocolate Hustle and now with the new teas added to the line up, I adore them even  more!  I can’t wait to cold brew this delight for those hot summer days right around the corner.

40 Winks from Adagio Teas. . . .

I was really excited to try this tea. I end every night with my favorite chamomile blend tea, so I was eager to experiment with a new one. This tea is blended with valerian root, honeybush tea, chamomile flowers, spearmint leaves, passion flowers, lemon balm, lavender flowers, dried cherries & blue cornflowers. With a glace alone it seems to be the perfect night time blend.

The dry leaves didn’t smell very pleasant to me. It was flowery with an undertone of something sour or spoiled. I thought that there was no way I would like this. I was pleased to discover that when I poured some boiling water over the leaves, the scent that came to life was the scent of spearmint.

Upon taking a sip, I was again, pleasantly surprised. The notes I picked up on the most was the lavender and the spearmint. The taste was minty and a touch floral. It truly was lovely. I was getting a bit of an odd aftertaste and I can only guess that was from the valerian root or dried cherries.

Ultimately though, I will be purchasing this tea to add to my stash. It tasted great overall and I did sleep very well last night! If you’re interested in trying this tea from Adagio Teas, you can purchase it as a part of their Day and Night gift set.

Organic Chamomile from Taylors of Harrogate. . . .

I’m a lover of chamomile blended teas, but surprisingly I had not tried chamomile on its own until I received this tea. The idea of it never seemed like something I would enjoy because I don’t love plain, “flowery” teas. However, I was interested to see how I would like this one because I’m a fan of the sweet, rich notes that chamomile usually brings.

Brewed up, this tea smells lovely, a bit like honey, and had a sweet and smooth flavor to match. The notes I picked up on most were honey, apple and a bit of that “flowery” flavor. I don’t think that it would replace my beloved blends, as I like to have a bit more in terms of flavor. That said, for something that’s simple, soothing and high quality, this fits the bill.

I do also have to point out that this got some brownie points in my book for being a high-quality sachet. I prefer to drink loose leaf teas, but in the evenings I don’t always want to mess around with an infuser.

I was very impressed by this tea, as it was great quality and very fresh, which isn’t always easy to find when it comes to bagged teas. For that reason, I will definitely be taking a closer look at Taylors of Harrogate.

Downton Abbey Lady Cora’s Evening Herb Tea from The Republic of Tea. . .

I smell Valerian Root…was the very first thing I thought when opening this single serve tea bag. Isn’t that funny that you can identify one lonely ingredient when it’s mixed in with others? Perhaps it’s because Valerian Root smells like feet – I don’t know! (Insert Sitcom Style Canned Laugh here)

Ingredients for Downton Abbey Lady Cora’s Evening Herb Tea from The Republic of Tea include: Lemon balm, linden flower, orange blossoms, chamomile, lavender flower, skullcap, passion flower and Valerian Root. None of which are on my personal faves list when chatting about or sipping on teas and tisanes but they seemed to work well here.

This caffeine-free blend of chamomile and lemon balm will calm the mind and body. The product description says these relaxing botanicals create a cup of tranquility that helps ease the nerves and is a nice bedtime herbal.

I still have yet to watch this series! I know – I know…what is WRONG with me, eh?

For those of you who don’t already know it’s an award-winning TV series, that has entranced millions of viewers and become a modern media sensation. Every episode is an explosion of drama, relationships and intrigue. Downton Abbey is home to the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants. From the pen of Academy Award® winner Julian Fellowes, Downton Abbey is the most watched drama ever on PBS!

I wonder if this is one of The Republic of Teas’ most sipped on herbals?
