Taster’s Review:

What a surprising Ceylon!  I have been surprised by Ceylon teas in the past, but, I don’t think I’ve been this astounded by a Ceylon – it’s blowing me away!

The leaves are probably the largest Ceylon leaves I’ve yet to see.  They are long and twisted, and they unfurl slowly (they were not completely unfurled after my first infusion, and insisted that I infuse them a second time!)

The flavor is sweet with hints of fruit in the background.  It isn’t a tea that I would classify as robust, but it does have a sense of strength to it.  There is some astringency to this cup, but not much.

While this rather exceptional Ceylon isn’t as bold as say, an Assam or Keemun might be; instead, this is a smooth, well-rounded cup that is sure to please the most discerning palate.

The second infusion is even better than the first, in my opinion.  I find that the fruit tones have mellowed a bit, becoming softer, sweeter and smoother.   I highly recommend indulging in a second infusion with this tea!  It’s well worth the effort.

A very satisfying cup of Ceylon!

Tasters Review:

This is my first first experience with tea from Teanzo and I will say it was a good first experience!

Bon Matin doesn’t have a strong aroma – it’s a fairly plain black tea with a “warm” smell.  It infuses to a medium brown.

The taste is medium strength for a black as well. It’s slightly malty but well rounded – from the beginning of the sip to the very end.   As it cools – I can pick up on a oh-so-subtle fruity flavor trying to hide underneath.

This is a very satisfying cuppa.  It’s a very fine Black Tea that I would surely share with friends!
