Organic Chamomile from Taylors of Harrogate. . . .

I’m a lover of chamomile blended teas, but surprisingly I had not tried chamomile on its own until I received this tea. The idea of it never seemed like something I would enjoy because I don’t love plain, “flowery” teas. However, I was interested to see how I would like this one because I’m a fan of the sweet, rich notes that chamomile usually brings.

Brewed up, this tea smells lovely, a bit like honey, and had a sweet and smooth flavor to match. The notes I picked up on most were honey, apple and a bit of that “flowery” flavor. I don’t think that it would replace my beloved blends, as I like to have a bit more in terms of flavor. That said, for something that’s simple, soothing and high quality, this fits the bill.

I do also have to point out that this got some brownie points in my book for being a high-quality sachet. I prefer to drink loose leaf teas, but in the evenings I don’t always want to mess around with an infuser.

I was very impressed by this tea, as it was great quality and very fresh, which isn’t always easy to find when it comes to bagged teas. For that reason, I will definitely be taking a closer look at Taylors of Harrogate.

Organic Royal Camomile from Hampstead Tea. . . .

Hampstead Tea has been around since the 1980’s. They are committed to biodynamic practices in producing what they sell; i.e. putting in more than is taken out. They offer organic tea with fair trade options.

This particular tea came in an individually wrapped tea bag. And yes, they spell it Camomile. Is that a British thing? Is it just the Americans who spell it Chamomile?

If the herbs are fresh, I don’t detect huge differences from one chamomile to another in the ones I have tried, so a deciding factor for me is going to be whether the product is fresh and whether it is organic. Adding on biodynamic and fair trade makes this company even more attractive.
